What was Mission Ale House is now the Hottest night spot downtown san jose. Freddie J's Bar and Lounge and Philly zone are coming together for the biggest party this year and we want you to join us on November 14th. Great taste of Philly and great alcohol served by the best cooks and bartenders in the bay area. Come party with us ...
* THE ERA spinnin' the best Hip-hop and dance music videos all night
* Bottle service with Lounge seating is available, ask for details.
* 21+ is a must with valid ID
* No cover charge at the door
Ummmm, there is a $5 cover for this place? The hell you say!!!
Yes, back in it's hey day, Mission Ale was the spot. Well, those days are long gone.
It's dead inside, but still manages to feel cramped and crowded, because this place is so dang small. Crowd is meh, peppered with the occasional wanna-be thug looking to start a bar brawl...and speaking of bars, there is only one here. No thanks.
I used to come here often when I went to SJSU. Back in the day, Ladies Night was the real deal. Hella fine bunnies at every corner, looking to be crammed by the guy with the best game or biggest kilbasa.
Last time I was here was 2 years ago. It's called Mission MALE house for a reason.
It's a joke. Unless you know this place from 99-02 don't come here.
3 stars for the parking garage that is next to the bar. You can hook up with girls you meet on the hoods of cars, and the worst thing that happens is people honk in celebration.
Mission Ale house now back to "Freddie's", for me was one of the most disrespectful place in San Jose. A night were my friend and I got kicked out the moment we walked in for dancing. The owner said " this is a grown place not for your kind of dancing" so we stopped our "dancing" and left...then followed by the owner grabbed me from my shirt with his mob of friends..kicking me and my friend out almost litterly and we didn't even drink yet.
i know this sounds weird but thats how it went down. but i still had a great nigh away from this place even though my friends were djing mission ale and i had about 10 buddies in there.
if you like to dance on their dance floor....dont go here
NASTYRAY
It's unfortunate that I am underage, and cannot consume alcohol; therefore, I've never been there at night, experiencing the bar side of it.
I have, however, been here for lunch on numerous occasions, and I think their food is awesome! Their Mission Ale House salad is so freaking delicious. I mean, it's pretty simple, but there's just something about it that just makes it feel like the perfect salad. I was so disappointed when they closed Mission Ale House during lunch for kitchen remodeling (although I heard a conspiracy theory that they've had to close down before because they got caught serving to minors). And their phone doesn't work either, which is annoying when I want to order food to-go and just pick it up. Grr... but I haven't even been able to eat there in months because of the remodeling, sighduck.
Oh! And another thing, their appetizers are yummy. Wings, nachos, quesadillas... ahh.. perfect for ANY kind of party.
Hope the quality of the bar catches up to the quality of its food because the kitchen cooks up some DELICIOUS stuff!
The Mission MALE House. At night, the bartender women seem to be either hella dumb ("Um, there's no such thing as a Strawberry Daiquiri!") or hella rude (purposely serving everyone BUT you) --at least the women we've dealt with. Well isn't that just so downtown San Jo-ish of them? Figures.
The bouncers are meh, depending on who it is. They card my husband, even though he looks twice their age, con pinche canas y toda la cosa. They run a stupid back patio door system at night, where if you step back in five feet to grab a drink, and ONE person goes into the patio while you're waiting for your drink, they don't let you back in because it's at capacity --MEANWHILE allowing a skimpily clad friend sneak behind-- wtf is that? As though proper head counts and fire codes somehow didn't stipulate the inclusion of downtown putas. That's Mission Male House security logic in a nutshell -about the equivalent to a -345 I.Q.!
In essence, this place has grossly downgraded steadily since the late 90s. However, if you need a refresher of how easily downtown San Jose can blow bull balls, Mission Male is the place!
Wow, times have really changed at the Mission Ale House. Please feel free to read my previous review to learn my theory as to why this place became a shadow of its former self. But for now, let's focus on my recent experience.
I came here with some pals around 8 P.M. before a thrash metal concert in downtown San Jose. There is no one inside the bar. I ordered a shot of Patron and a Corona. It was $10 for the shot and $5.50 for the beer. So $15.50 total for a tequila and a beer? Are we in Los Gatos, Santana Row, or some other place with various upscale, thieving establishments?
No, we are in the Mission Male House. I'll take my business (frugal alcoholism) to the Cinebar where it would be $11 ($7 for Patron shot and $4 for Corona).
Granted, Mission was rocking some Def Leppard ("Pour Some Sugar on Me"), Foreigner ("Juke Box Hero), and Van Halen ("Hot for Teacher"), so the music was a million times better than it ever would be at the Cinebar.
But at those (ridiculous) prices, I'll take some terrible punk, bad indie rock, or annoying reggae music for cheaper booze.

Freddie J's or as i'd like to call a breath of fresh air in what is turning into a horrible downtown scene. This bar is big with to bars that seem to get you a drink fast. Prices are good and the music is off the hook. They don't have a cover and they have a nice size outside area for those looking for a smoke or just some air. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good music and a fun time. It's a diamond in the rough of bars in San Jose.
I don't go inside the "Male House" often. But rumor has it that they serve a decent burger. A friend and I decided what the hell the sausage fest doesn't usually start until the evening hours so we gave it a try.
The gal behind the bar didn't seem too interested in actually taking our order. We sat there for a good 10 minutes before she came over and asked us what we wanted. We opted for the burgers, they really don't have much else on the menu. She took our order and then turned up the music to a level beyond loud. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation at this point. The food came out in about 10 minutes and the burgers were actually very good. Great flavor, cooked properly, with ample hot and crispy fries.
Damn, If not for the noise and the 'tude I would probably be a regular.
*** Day 2 of a trade show, what to do? ***
Get drunk and party like a frat boy @ Mission! ;p
This place is made for beer drinkers & hip hop
enthusiasts, so it was really right up my alley.
If you like dirty south music and a Long Island
Iced Tea that will knock you on your ass, this is
the spot. I had a very stupid but very fun time here.
*** Thx to my friend @ Apple for showing me this joint. ***
My last visit to the legendary "Mission Male House" was actually not bad. A group of old friends from elementary/ middle school decided to meet here to catch up. I wish I could remember the name of the band that played on the patio because they were awesome. The sound is great out there! The drinks were just okay. Not the friendliest of service, but it's a bar so I wasn't expecting much. I love Mission Deli next door!
Thanks to Audrey, the Mission Ale House (aka: Mission Male House) has redeemed themselves. Cabeza de Sobaco has retired!!! Therefore we no longer have to boycott this place and I can once again enjoy my favorite chicken taco salad.
Audrey exudes what a waitress/bartender should be. She is always in a cheerful, upbeat mood that is contagious. She is polite and quick with your orders. She doesn't let a face or person go by unnoticed. She has made our lunches pleasant once again.
See you Wednesday for lunch Audrey! Same time and same bat channel.

Oddly that this being a local watering hole and all, has one of the BEST chicken taco salads I have… Read more »
After running around DTSJ, the ladies finally decided on going to Mission Ale House in hopes of finding the right music. I got there a tad early cuz I drove instead of walked over from Firehouse and sat there... sat there and drank their house brown ale.... it's alright. The rest of the crew finally showed up and followed up with a golden lager... it's alright.
And the music was a walk down through the 80's... it's alright. And much like the 80's our stay was short lived as well since the ladies didn't care for the musical selection but were amused at how much I did. What can I say? I'm a child of that era. I'm surprised they didn't play "Never going to give you up" by Rick Astley...
*shudder
Stop Number 2 on President Obama's Inauguration night..... Why did we end up there since we hadn't been for years? Because we made a new bff at Dive Bar who works at Mission and he gave us two indisputable reasons to head on over: (1) New Menu with Killer Fried Chicken and (2) They started brewing their own beer. Did someone say fried chicken??? And with that, the gang and I were running across the street to try it out.
So as our new bff had informed us, Mission started brewing their own tasty beers in Campbell. Since we told him that we LOVED Newcastle, he suggested their version of the brown ale. Good Lord it's tasty!! Very nutty and a smooth, rounded flavor. The new bff told us that their brown ale has a little secret they add into it for that extra kick. Wish I could tell you what it was but it's not my secret to share :)
Now for the chicken....granted, I'm not from the South nor am I an accomplished fried chicken aficionado. But let me say this, I know what tastes good and this Chicken is DAMN GOOD! Super moist, crunchy, and with every bite into the crust, you get little bursts of the seasoning. And yes, if you're wondering, it's soaked in buttermilk. Mmmm--SO GOOD!
The new bff brought out the new chef he's brought on to redo Mission Ale House's menu (and Tiki Smoke for that matter). We chatted up with him for a few minutes and what a cool guy! Apparently, the fried chicken is the special for Tuesdays and meatloaf on Monday.
Now this is what I'm talking about....trying to bring back that local pub feel to an old Downtown SJ establishment. We'll be back for that chicken and the brown ale. Heck, I want to try the meatloaf too! (Um, but all before 8pm because that's when my students start coming out of the woodwork!)
Went here once a while back with a couple friends, attended the place early cause we were supposed to go to another event later in the night I believe. Just got a couple of beers and watched some F1 racing from our table.
Can't really judge the food cause I didn't eat, but I usually never eat at bar like establishments, just I have this preconception that the food will either be bad or not that good. I've heard that they call this place a kind of cock-fest of some nights, so I usually avoid it. Haven't been back since that short night out here. Probably won't came back, unless I get dragged in here with my friends.
We came here in search of a place with some good music on a Tuesday night and darn we were so disappointed. When we walked in it was pretty dead with the exception of a couple of people at the bar watching the sharks game.
The reason we came was because we saw that they had specials on Tuesdays and they also had a dj starting to mix at 10. So 10:15pm rolls around and we're like WTF where's the dj? Finally at 10:20 he starts a lil something but too bad the music SUCKS! By then we were over it and decided to walk over to Dive Bar. It was my first time in there but with the way things went there is a low chance I'll want to go back.
The only thing interesting about this place hence the 1 star was that they had a special food they serve each day of the week, on Tuesday it was fried chicken. Maybe just maybe I'll go back for that just cuz I'm curious...
Okay, I have to give credit for the happy hour that they hold here. It's the food item prices that are a big catch. Otherwise, I would skip this place altogether. No wonder I hear people tell me, "Oh what! You're going where?! Mission Male House?!" Yeah....if guys weren't so rude, you'd have plenty of girls coming here.

Mission Ale House, huh? More like Mission IMPOSSIBLE; it's impossible that this place is good.
We came here on a Saturday night hoping to start up a night of barhopping. Coming here first, we started off on the wrong foot. It was too damn crowded, drinks were ok, and music was "eh." A couple bartenders do present some worthy eye candy but the whole place is a major sausagefest. Heading out to the dancefloor didn't help. Both rooms are really small. Some guys who look on at girls are either potential creepers, wannabe gangstas, or insecure momma's boys. Perhaps all rolled into one. I didn't really enjoy myself here. If it wasn't for no cover that night, I would have given it one less star. Oh wait...
So if you're looking to start off a party in DTSJ, start somewhere else. Seriously, this is one mission you'll want to self-destruct in 5 seconds.
Mission Ale House= cockfest.
So sad how things have changed for this place since I've first been here. This place will always have a special memory because I went here on my 21st birthday (saw a guy get hit by a car, seriously), and have also had a very interesting conversation here. Good amount of alcohol for what I paid for, and the people were alright.
2 years later, things have gone downhill. The ratio reflects the city's nickname of "Man Jose". Too many a-holes, and now there's even a cover charge. Forget this place. I'll spend my money somewhere else.
I've never actually been in here, but I tried to get in on a Tuesday night during Spring Break in 2007 when I misplaced my driver's license.
I showed the bouncer my valid photo ID passport. He told me they couldn't accept it cause it didn't have my height and weight on it, so I showed him my expired driver's license, a couple credit cards, my student body ID, my social security card, etc. and he still wouldn't let me in. And then my 20-year old homegirls got in like no thang using their older sister and cousin's IDs. WTF?!?
Hella ID nazis over here. Good thing my friend's cousin was always working at D&Bs whenever I went there and had my driver's license ID card M.I.A.
Woo-Hoo, Mission Male House.
Imagine a cave in the dead of winter that is full of cavemen and a single, warm, glowing fire. The cavemen huddle around the fire as it is the only decent source of warmth in a 10 mile radius. Well, the cave happens to be Mission Ale House, the cavemen are the abundant amount of inebriated dudes that occupy this joint, and the fire happens to be the one girl who is caught in the middle of a sausage cook off.
Mission ale house seems to be the place to go when everywhere else sucks. I went here after the loft totally sucked. Good space. Bars everywhere! Even outside. Good place if you want to drink or dance... and not be hassled too much by the crowds. I heart the patio area. You could drink and smoke.... and drinking and smoking...... can either be great or horrible. I have some good memories here at mission. One that involved my poltergeist head spilling vomit everywhere.. and last nite's big buff security guy showing me he can lift me over his shoulders (something the annoying and douche bag firefighter dude couldn't do). Good times. Good times. They are pretty friendly here. Many bartenders behind the bar.
The only issue I have is the music they play. They play older/overplayed music. Not once have they NOT played that "push it real good" song. lol.
Ok, I came to Mission Ale last night with some fabulous people and it wasn't as bad as my last visit. Granted the night was dead and since we got there somewhat early, we were able to sit out the back patio to drink, chill and smoke for a few hours ... They had a head banging live band at the pool room which was random but kinda cool and the the DJ played some tight ass mixes. The beer and shots were about $4 bucks a pop and the bartenders were pretty generous... And yes, I'm going to spare y'all with all the gory details about our Juvenile Acts but I have to say that we definitely had a good time.

There's never a line to get in here. The security staff are so nice.
The interior is kinda dirty, but I guess since it's just a bar, I can't expect much. The first bar is long and you can very easily get a drink quickly from the nice bartenders. The back bar is smaller. Plenty of seating in the front bar. The middle rooms don't have much seating at all. The bathrooms are gross, the back dance floor is pretty big and nice. The back patio is nice with plenty of seating and heat lamps. The people that go here are chill.
It's pretty ok here, but I'm quite the germaphobe so I just feel this place is kinda dirty.
Oh yah, I went here for my first time when I was 20 and I had a fake id and the security was so nice and said, "I'll give you your id back but don't come back here until you're legal." Hahahaha! So yah, I'm legal now and I've been going there and the security guys are still cool =) Oh yah, if you wear something nice, the security guys are quick to compliment you but not in a weird, inappropriate way =) Anyway, after I go my id back, I went to San Jose Bar n Grill and they took it away hahaha It always worked before but I guess it wasn't my night =P
i'll give you 2 stars. one star is based on the fact that your security guard let me in without charging me cover because i needed to go to the bathroom. you're awesome terrell.
prior to having to go to the bathroom here, this was the first and last stop for me on my 2nd grad celebrations with friends. wasn't too busy when we first got here. it did start to pick up BUT it was inhabited by lots of dressed up girls who were wearing cheap clothes and looked like hookers waiting to go on duty. well, i know where to get one BEFORE they start charging. we saw one hooker totally eat it while walking near the bar. my friend didn't know what to do--does he put his hand on her bare, nasty back or does he hold out his arm to kind of prop her up without directly touching her? dilemma.
my martini was strong. the bartender couldn't make drinks. she was clueless from what i saw at a distance. purely for show.
overall, this place is dingy and grimy like your mother's............nevermind.
Yeah, I don't understand why they charge cover. YOU ARE NOT A CLUB!
MUSIC: The DJs in both the main bar and small room are very inconsistent. They play your standard hip hop, Top 40, reggae hits, but not for the entire length of the song! Also, they don't pay attention to the crowd!!! If the room is feeling the reggae music, don't immediately switch over to hip hop. The DJ spinning on Friday night also had his two friends facilitate music requests, which was pretty lame. Haven't these DJs heard of multitasking?
DRINKS: Nice and strong. Standard variety of mixed drinks. Great bang for your buck.
AMBIANCE: Pretty chill. I'd prefer to come here for happy hour, rather than the pseudo club it turns into on Friday and Saturday late nights.
Archie is right. The lady bartenders here *ARE* hot enough to erect wood.
So me n 5 hot ladies all hit up this joint at about 12:15 AM on a Saturday night (Sunday morning for you nitpickers). $3 cover? For what? This place is so filthy I think I need to get myself tested.
So me n the ladies are all standing together, talking, giggling, drinking, having fun and NOT LOOKING AT YOU, RANDOM GUYS.
Random guy: grabs my right ass cheek and yells, "Let's dance!" in my left ear.
Me: "Let's not!"
One of the hot ladies with me: "we're engaged, she's taken."
Random Guy: "F you, dumbass whore lesbian homos!" and proceeds to make a motion with his right index finger and left fist.
Me n my friends: totally not impressed.
This type of random skeezeball trash attack happened over and over until we couldn't take it anymore. It's kind of like camping: insect repellant only does so much and you can only take so many mosquito bites before you just head back to the tent and call it a night. We lasted about 45 minutes.
The two stars are for the hot female bartenders and the stroooong pours we got.
Oh I don't care what anyone says, Mission is still a cool lil' hangout. I go there often to chill with the regulars and its a home away from home. The bartenders change up but I'm cool with change. The Cadallac Margaritas will put you on your ass. I have nothing but a fun time there and in the summer when the bands come out and more people...well the more the merrier. I'm glad its not all crowded although it does still have its moments. They now have a new cook, Shannon, and WOW the food is GREAT!!!!
Archie - don't hate, you can chill at the Dive Bar.
The day I went, there was a guy and girl singing and playing folksy music which was nice. They were the live band of the evening (around 8pm), out on the patio singing about being poor and eating curry... As it got later (around 10pm), things got a little weirder. I heard some dude holla at chick, "Now, THAT's what you call an apple bottom!" Wow..
The bathrooms are of standard bar/club cleanliness (meaning, eh, go if you must). FYI - the toilets are not bolted down so they will be wobbly if you sit! Bad for wasted, drunk people. There's a decent selection of beer on tap and the bartenders are nice but drinks are a little pricey.
I never attended SJSU so I can't really compare how this bar was to how it is now. All I know is that when I first entered, they were playing hip hop and when I got to the back (outside), there was a live band playing rock (http://www.redwoodband...). Outside was definitely more bumpin'. I got there at around 5:30pm and was carded. For some reason I thought that was funny but I'm guessing people under 21 are not allowed at any hour?
I stayed primarily outside and that area is so cute and cozy. Love the lights and decor. It's perfect for a warm night out to listen to live music and have a drink. Too bad that drink for me was a coke. Even now, I'm still not sure how much that cost if it cost anything at all. The bartender never even hit at a monetary requirement and just filled my cup as soon as it was empty.
Ummmm no so I came here with my bf and my bff to see bffs cousin play his last show with his band...
Keep in mind I really don't dig this place last resort bar or pit stop for the restroom....But whatever I went anyways
So ummmmm deader then roadkill not a whole lot of people in this place ( is that a surprise no it isnt) so we proceed to the back of the bar and still a deadzone ( hahahah)..........not a very exciting place.... Good thing i was already borderline wasted because the bartenders were useless hahhaha one of them didn't even know where any of her supplies were she kept saying she was new there but ummm if that is the case get to work a little bit before starting time to explore and get familiar with the bar so that way you give a better presentation....i think there was even a moment when i said who is the bartender here........ummm no Grey Goose what the frijoles really you don't have grey goose ( isn't this a bar) okay what ever I accept absolute with my cranberry,,,I come back later and order a Jake and Coke and guess what NO JACK DANIELS hahahaah what you must not want a good review!!!!! The bartender refers me to the bartender located in the back of the joint( by now i wish i had one) that bartender wasn't at all friendly he made me want to stop drinking ( was that harsh sorry) because his service was suckie.....
All in all I was extremely dissapointed I am glad my bffs cousins band made up for it and good thing my bf was there with me to show me a good time ,,,,otherwise two thumbs down ooo on a positive not I am glad it didn't smell like cheese
I went to meet my bud here for a beer and to just shoot the breeze.
The atmosphere is kind of "shack-like" but they seem to carry themselves like they some kind of institution on Santa Clara street or something. Not very impressed with the atmosphere to say the least.
The food they served was very average, sandwiches and various bar food. Lots of people judge a bar's food by how well they can make french fries... they were on the soggy/mushy side.
I can't say anything terrible about this place. Watching the game with a beer with my buddy was cool but I'm not exactly itchin' to go back night after night.
The music is SO good here!
The drink are way over priced.
BUT THE MUSIC IS SO GOOD!
Okay, you know you're in a bar with rookie bartenders when you ask for an AMF and they don't know what you're talking about. I had to explain that it's a long island with blue curacao. Triste.
You walk in and there's no cover. Good thing cuz you walk in and it's a strangely configured place and it's a mob to get to the bar. There are old style wooden tables and chairs which would be nice except they get in the way of everything, like talking to more than one person at a time or walking to the bar. The lights I think are dark because they dont' want to let you see you've stepped into a shell of this probably once high class bar.
Anyway, I went with my friend cuz it was her friend's birthday. I felt kinda bad at the end of the night because I almost asked for this girl's number - and that girl was the chick the bday boy was trying to impress. Whoops. Oh well, all is fair in love and war. If you're going to pick a battleground, Mission Ale house may as well be the place to do it. There's not a whole lot else that can go wrong.
I'm rather a very happy customer, my GF and I stopped in for lunch today around 11:30, wasn't packed at all. I had a Ham Sandwhich that was rather decent, GF had sum cheese fries or sumthing. We really went for the BEER. Overall the service was excellent. I even got a couple free shots with the Bartender. Upon returning to work around 3pm in the afternoon with a nice buzz and only spending 24 bucks. I will for sure return to this place.
I look forward to returning on Sunday, cause I hear its really fun during the football games. Woot Woot GO BEARS!
Ah...a warm summer night out on their patio (when you can manage to secure a table) is the perfect night out downtown.
Expect to find lots of guys lookin' for a little sumthinsumthin (even more so than other bars). I mean really...it seems like a 4:1 guys/girls ratio up in here--Which might be a plus for some, but I'd prefer less of a sausage fest.
Stick to beer here also. It's the only thing that won't taste like it's gone sour. They do have a great happy hour though. Especially on girls' nights.
A fun story: Last summer I was on my way inside to get round 2 for my table and a guy stopped me in the very narrow hallway and wanted to buy me a drink. I politely declined, but he was persistant and asked why. So I broke him the news gently: "You're wearing an SC hat, and I went to UCLA, so it would never work." Ahh, the rivalry still burns brightly, even up here in NorCal.
P.S. If you ever read this, SC hat guy--you were pretty cute (despite your poor choice in sports teams).
Mission Ale House...very correctly referred to as Mission Male House...in my opinion it is what it is. It is Man Jose so hell yes there are men and a lot of them, The drinks are a bit pricey for this type of establishment and I totally agree with Archie that Cinebar would have to be my replacement for this joint due to the prices...after all I like my liquor but I don't like to pay too much for it. However I have to say that I have love for the bartenders. They are fast friendly and in my case usually heavy handed which means they always get a great tip from me. I really think it has the look of a good old' watering hole in which any alcoholic or liquor dabbler could wet their tongue all at a good price...but hey it is not the case...if you are looking for cheap it isn't here but it still is a spot on my bar hop around town...You may one day see me at the bar ordering an overpriced but decently made drink in between 5 douche bags...I do love downtown though.
I like mission ale house. honestly, I can't think of a time when I haven't had fun there. The people watching alone is worth 3 stars! There is a nice big dance floor where most djs spin a fun mix of 80s, early 90s hip hop, and popular radio hits. There are two bars, a nice big outdoor patio, and, as i discovered when my friend who works there as a part time graphic designer met me there for a late lunch, pretty damn good food!
I don't know if I would spend all night there, but it's a nice place to grab a bite and a few beers in the late afternoon, or to go shake your booty (sans an overpriced cover charge) after you're nice and buzzed.
Mission Ale sucked. But it was St Patrick's Day so I will at least give it a two star.
It was dark, darker than I think it should be in a bar/ club.
The dark didn't hide the dinge. Old, smusty, dirty and just gross feeling.
The dark didn't hide the ghetto dudes who were either going to see if they could 'tap that' or sell something illegal or steal my purse. Soooo many creepy people.
The dance floor had glass on it, lots of broken glass.
The dance floor also smelled like ass, not kind of or sort of - but no really, like ass.
The music was ok hip hop, eh. The drinks were weak.
It's a big place though, tall ceilings, a smaller dancer floor, two bars and a patio.
Fat Tuesday: I went here for Fat Tuesday and boy, was that a mistake! Should be more like Fat "Chicks Come Out On" Tuesday. I swear there were more people in the streets than in the clubs. It was okay, can't believe they charged $5 admission. Got our drank and our dance on cuz there wasn't anywhere else to go.
I only go here on Tuesdays when I have nothing to do and want to get a drink. It's free, they have two rooms with DJ's, drink specials. It goes off during the summer but during the off season, it's an ok spot to kick it. One week it'll be super dead, the next it'll be okay, it's a hit or miss.
