4 reviews for Misquamicut State Beach
Very nice beach, small strip of shops and beach restaurants / shacks, I haven't been to a lot of beaches in RI, It's small and not to wide, but cool to relax or rent a bike.
The block island sound delivers some delicious fresh fishes for the restaurants. The best part about this beach u feel like a local here, Atlantic Av is not like ur going to a secure commercial sand factory with this crazy parking laws etc. or crazy peddlers on drugs.

Came here this past Saturday -- very short drive from Mystic, CT. It's a large, beautiful and clean beach. It was very, very crowded and it took us about 40 minutes just to get into the parking lot. This beach is very popular... too popular. If we're in the area again, we would definitely like to check out a smaller, more intimate beach. But this is definitely a nice place to spend a summer day. Just get there super early.
Misquamicut! (Gesundheit.)
I think Misquamicut is Indian for "will cut toe on sharp rocks."
It's a bit rocky, and the sand is super granular. The shore is quite short--meaning it won't be long before high tide has you soaked and heading home.
But it's a clean beach. It's easy to get to. Parking is easy. And it's in RI, so it's a bit warmer than the NH or ME beaches. Less traffic than the Cape.

This beach is perty, it's one of the nicest beaches in RI in my opinions. All kinds of cool places to sit on rocks and take pictures and do cool beach things.
In the summer there are all sorts of attractions and vendors around the beach, but if you go in the spring or fall, all you'll find is a biker bar that's open. They're pretty nice though and the food is OK.
