Is it the best Korean in Boston?  Not even close it might even be below average to be honest.  Are the prices great and the dishes satisfying if your in the area and have a craving?  Absolutely.  The food maybe be 2 stars, but it gets an extra star for charing reasonably or what you get.

I like this place a lot because it's authentic and cheap Korean food in a convenient location (perfect for nearby college students). The soondooboo (soft tofu soup) was too watery, but everything else is pretty good. I ALWAYS get the seafood scallion pancake. I hate to admit it but it tastes even better than my mom's... eek (sorry, mom).

Yum...comforting, satisfying Korean food on a cold winter night. Our soondubu and some bbq chicken was exactly what I needed after a long day at work. Our meal was a great deal at a mere $16...enough for some Yo! Berry afterwards! This place doesn't get 5 stars because the side dishes weren't that great and the portions were decent but was barely enough to fill me up.

I too went to the one on the back side, facing the Chinese place. It just looked better.

I used to go the Misono Grill before Misono Wok opened but now I would rather go the Wok because Misono Grill have only certain amount of traditional korean foods. Since I came from Korea, not many people in Korea eat bibimbop or bulgogi everydays....I know its TRADITIONAL style. But I love to go Misono Wok because they have variety of fusion style and I love YangNyum Chicken and Pork Kimchi there. Tastes even better than restaurants in Korea!

I only like Pancake from Misono Grill and I'm just curious about I've never seen Korean Chefs in Misono Grill..Than's one reason that make me to go Misono Wok because the chef in Misono Wok is friendly and Korean..^^

prob not traditional traditional bibimbap (then again, what do I know)...but for a non-Korean like me, mighty tasty.  I seem to like it a lot better than the other hole-in-the-wall places in Union Square.

Plus being in the super 88 food court you can go around and look at all the incredibly tasty stuff the other stands are offering.

Only downside is I wish they were a little cheaper....although being uner $10 for most dishes, still beats most of Boston on price...

I am korean and I would never bring a korean here.  I tried it based on the other reviews and was sorely disappointed.   This is a sad version of bibimbap.  The rest of the food: too much batter, too much rice, lacking in quality veggies and the meats are scrawny.  Still looking for a good korean restaurant in the area...  the buffet on mass ave in boston (by the Christian Science monitor building) is better, but limited (they only do the buffet, nothing else).

Note there are Two Different Misono's at this location.

I prefer the one which faces the interior corridor leading to the Super 88 supermarket.  The food seems more carefully made and tastier...the owner? (The woman who is always there) is also really friendly...it does not hurt to be nice!

Try it for Bibimbap and grilled eel.

The other one faces Commonwealth Avenue.  When I asked about why there are two, the answer led me to believe they are intentionally different.  The one facing Commonwealth is meant to be Korean style Chinese food (a sub category like American style Italian food), and the other is Korean Korean food.

The amazing thing about most of the food in the entire food court is that: It's fast food that's prepared AFTER you place an order.

A great advantage to this place is everyone in your group can eat exactly what they wish, from different vendors, while you dine together.. Imagine a Dim Sum situation with the added dimension of multiple cuisines and you've got it.

Also it's usually open an hour later than most other places...but most businesses seem to close 'when they're through for the day' rather than at X o'clock, so take posted business hours with a grain of salt.  Fortunately the proprietors are gone when they are closed, unlike Super 88 supermarket.

If you should ever attempt entry (to Super 88), once they've decided to close, even if it's an hour before 'closing', they will make the sound "Eah, Eyahhh" (Aiya!) while aggressively waving their arms in a shooing motion followed by a few sentences yelled in Chinese...which I could not understand --even though I got it.  My own internal "Babel Fish" said, "They Meant: Oh no now, girl, don't you be trying to get up in here when we've already decided to stop for the evening.  Git. Common now git!!"

For value and authenticity, 4 stars are warranted.  As others mention, the one opposite the entrance from the street is better, probably because it's the original one.  The other one is newer, they put that there a couple years ago. If you're a newbie and unsure which one to go to, it's the one across from the Chinese spot with a few cooked ducks hangin around.

I always get the pa-jeon (korean scallion pancakes) cuz they taste a lot like how my mom used to make em as a kid.  The gob-dol bimmim bop (hot sizzling stoned rice mixture thingy with veggies, meat, hawt sauce, and seasome oil) is standard to get here.  Good soups, and just good...everything.  ^_^

(oh, and a freakin kick ass smoothie stand is right next door)

I liked my seafood bibimbap, but I think they were skimping on ingredients, and for $10 (for the stone pot), I expect more. Missing were the big soybean sprouts, which I think are nearly essential, and any interesting vegetables like gosari (bracken ferns).  I also felt like it was missing some flavor--perhaps not enough dark sesame oil and sesame seeds in the gochujang paste. Come to think of it, I definitely wanted more sesame oil.

But it was decent and I'd go back and try something else. BTW: I went to the one across from Kantin, the Chinese place.

Food:  3.5 stars.  Been here 3-4 times.  Like others said, go to the one facing the hanging duck.  The other one's pretty terrible (1 star).  I made the mistake of going there once.  While the quality of the BBQ is not as good as what youd get at a sit-down restaurant at Koreana, it's still pretty good food, especially for a food court.

Service, etc:  Parking's free.  The woman's always nice and polite.  It's a food court, so don't bring a date unless she's still in school and doesn't know better.  I usually end up ordering food to go.

Price:  Pretty cheap.  Coupled with decent, fairly-authentic Korean food, it's definitely one of the top 3 places I visit at the Super 88 food court.

It's a 3.5, I think, and I enjoy coming here.  I'm tempted to raise it given the price, hence value, but when it comes down to it, it's like good mall food.

There are 2 misono grills here - the 4 stars is for the one INSIDE (across from kantin, sharing the same seating area).  get their spicy pork bimbimbap + egg.  I wish it could be cheaper though.

However, the one OUTSIDE... facing the door on brighton ave... that one only deserves 1 star.  the food is overly spicy there and the owner has attitude problems.  i ordered this noodle soup to-go then wanted to eat there... so i asked for a bowl to eat in... the asshole immediately said... you ordered to-go, no bowl !!!.  so i said.... uhh but its real hard for me to eat here... can you please just give me a bowl?... the owner responded rudely: no... we out of bowls!.... then i stared at the huge stack of cheap plastic bowls sitting behind him on the counter trying to get his attention to admit that he DOES have bowls but too CHEAP to spare me one, he just totally ignored me and asked next customer to order.  the kimchi pancake i got from there had NO kimchi whatsoever either... and when i took it back and complained, the owner simply said there WAS kimchi in there... not sure if the dude was really blind or his eyes were just covered by his own @ss.

I come here almost every time I visit Super 88.  They have pretty good dishes, although I've tasted better soondobu.  However, for the price, it's definitely worth ordering.  The only annoying thing is they usually charge for the egg if you order a bibimbap.

Located inside the Super 88 Market; this Korean fast food joint offers surprisingly good quality meals and generous portions at very reasonable prices.  I have tried the grilled spicy pork (#3) which came with rice and 3 side dishes (a variety of spicy morsels) as well as the jap chae (clear springy noodles made of potato powder) with spicy pork.  Both items were delicious and travelled very well in their respective Styrofoam boxes on the T; since I prefer to dine in my apartment as opposed to the rather sticky food court where no one ever wipes the tables.  I can't wait to try their spicy ramyun noodle in soup on my next visit.  Be sure you visit the right Misono Grill though (since I noticed 2 stalls with the same name).  Head for the one at the back of the foodcourt (across from Kantin) and NOT the one at the front near the main entrance. Their bimbibap is decent but a little stingy with regards to the portion size and veggies/meat ratio.

Misono Grill has the best 'Ok-Dol-Bibimbaps' which are special Korean fried rice dishes.  Misono Grill is the place to go for quality fast Korean meals.

Love this little gem of a restaurant. Misono Grill, not the one at the Brighton Ave entrance, the one in back. Consistently good. Okdul bibim bab in stone pot is wonderful, great flavor in the marinated vegetables, the rice gets crispy at the bottom of the pot. Oddly, we really enjoy the communal atmosphere here and are often the only white people here. Staff are friendly and welcoming, they'll learn your face quickly, and are an added bonus. Good prices for authentic, no frills Korean. Love their scallion pancakes and pan-fried dumplings too. Ask for Kimchi. They also have a bubble tea stand on the other side, Lollipop I think, that you can stop by afterwards. Nice change of scenery and love the food.

A Korean food shop located right in Super 88. They offer many great Korean dishes at a very good price. Definitely a spot to check out while roaming super 88. Don't forget to ask for kimchi.
