Closed. Yup, another Korean restaurant out of business.
I got mixed up with this and Mimuyu.
Mimuyu-closed, not opened yet.
Mirak-new owners, Kum Kang Sahn.

Pros:

- new and clean; tables with grills available
- push-button service (my friend accidentally pushed, but no one came?)
- instead of water, they serve you tea (we got bori-cha)
- pricing is decent compared to nearby establishments
- good variety of panchan (8 -10 dishes, cucumber kimchee upon request)
- really affordable lunch specials (particularly bento box)
- substantial portion of japchae (even though it's listed as an appetizer)

Cons:

- kalbi was fattier than usual (taste was there however)
- service was slow even though the place wasn't bustling
- no squid pancake, only kimchee + pork and chive with oyster

Overall: I would pass on the lunch bento in the future. Albeit a good value, I only ate my main dish and didn't bother with the rest (salad, rolls, tempura) - better off ordering entree separately. Need to visit again for dinner to collect more data points.

(4.5 Stars) Thanks to yelp, I went out and tried this place. They still have their grand opening banner, and the place looks clean, new, with a slight modern restaurant look. The servers are extremely nice, unlike some other places (ahem, Korea House), and will happily make your dining experience as enjoyable as possible.

The bento box was no joke. I can consume a ungodly amount of food to body weight ratio, but the box with salad, california roll pieces, miso soup, tempura, a good 7-8 kalbi pieces, along with a scoop of rice is enough to satisfy the heartiest of eaters. All of this for only 9$. Wow, that's a steal. The kalbi was great, marbled thin layers of fat in between, the salad had thousand island dressing, the tempura is not bad, but the california rolls were a bit dry. Pancham side dishes were decent, and free refills are always nice to have. I also ordered an appetizer of a korean pancake with kimchi and pork, which is a meal itself for some people.

I am definitely hitting this place again. =)

Went here with my buddy for lunch and it was GOOOOD!

They have lunch specials for under $8 and the side dishes were soooooo goooood, I took the "left overs" in a doggy bag.... for my wife! Thats the first time I actually "bagged" the pancham side dishes thing!

The place is super duper clean and restrooms were a good size.

The decor is not simple, very zen like and clean.... I liked it..

Service was great and they DO accept credit cards...

I love this place! Through Yelp, we were searching for a Korean Restaurant worth going to, and we definitely found it! The decoration was nice, the servers were absolutely friendly, and the food was delicious. I think I found my new favorite restaurant. I had the Galbi Tang, and the broth kept me wanting more. Usually at Korean places I find myself not able to the side dishes, but Mirak has some great ones.

A few months old, this place has actually become one of my favorite Korean restaurants. Very clean, nice atmosphere, Friendly staff. I have yet to dislike any of the food I have had here.

If you go with more than two people make sure you get one of the large tables in the off rooms as the regular tables just don't seat well.

YUM. :p

The atmosphere was clean, relaxing, and the waiter/waitresses are so friendly.  I had squid and rice in the special hot sizzling bowl.  It was great!

I loved the way they had their decorations though.  The place was dimly lit, yet not to a point where it wasn't comfortable.  It was modern and inviting.  Their dishes and the way they had their chopsticks/spoon is also neat.

I recommend it!

The best Korean food I have had so far and near perfect service along with it.  I am sure having our host specify that we did not want any of the dishes Americanized helped, as did some native speakers helping with some translations for us.
First of all the panchan was almost more than the table to hold along with our glasses and all of it was delicious.  I had no idea what most of it was, but it didn't really matter.
Then the table was filled with as many different entrees as we could manage.  My own, the blue crab stew, was not easy to eat (what good crab is?!) but more than worth the effort and fingertips temporarily stained by the chili in the broth.  I still had a pile of crab legs to take home and finish later.  The two different raw beef dishes I sampled were so good that I will order one of them on the next visit, though I tend to gag at even the thought of steak tartare.  They were perfectly seasoned and tenderized.  Even the pancake that has never seemed too appetizing from the menu was surprisingly good.
