I went here early last year while on a ski trip in Vail. Aside from the great skiing, this place really stands out in my mind as a highlight of that trip.
This was an all around incredible restaurant. Every course was delicious (aside from that caviar, but that's just my personal taste - ick!). The soup blew me away and I was continually impressed from there on. The portion sizes were perfect (not too big) for so many courses, but I was definitely stuffed by the end of it.
The service was fantastic as well. Our waiter was very friendly and personable when engaged, and otherwise the wait staff was completely invisible. I generally get a little uncomfortable when someone scraped my crumbs away, but here they were so sneaky I hardly even noticed.
Great wine list too, we tried a couple of really great bottles. Now I wish I remember what they were!
I was a gourmet virgin the first time I ate at Mirabelle when I was a teenager. I had no idea what it was that I was experiencing but I knew that I liked it. I have been fortunate enough to eat here several more times as an adult and I am still blown away by the amazing food and incredible service. The atmosphere is very subdued and serious but that leaves plenty of room to contemplate the gastronomic delights on the plate. I wish I could afford to dine here every time I visit Vail Valley.
THE BEST MEAL EVER!
I promise that you will savor every bite of your meal as if it were the first and last meal you will ever taste. The food was amazing, the service was even better, and the atmosphere is very intimate. It seems to me that this place used to be a big house, with a few tables in each room, which really added to the privacy and romance.
As mentioned in the other review, our waiter was extremely friendly, and even wrote us a list of things to do while in Vail, all of which sounded right up our alley.
Overall, our experience at Mirabelle was unforgettable, and we will suggest that anyone in the area with a little extra money to spend go here!
