Absolutely Delicious!
I Love this place and the owner is soooo friendly and Always smiling. Such a great energy there. The lettuce wraps are the Best there and everything else is wonderful too. This is my new place to dine.
I be back there again for sure!
Ming's is not bad, not bad at all. I'm pleased to have found another decent Chinese joint in our neighborhood (Ming's is located in the TJ Max plaza in Pleasant Hill). Super friendly waiters brought our piping hot $6 lunch specials. What's not to like?
Singapore fried rice noodles, my favorite, were cooked well -- though there was an unneccesary preponderance of onions. My sons' Broccoli Beef and Sweet and Sour Pork lunch specials went over very well (with more than sufficient amount of left overs for school lunches), and my husband enjoyed his as well (and I cannot for the life of me remember what he ordered). All the lunches came with hot & sour soup and an egg roll (even mine that wasn't a lunch special).
Yep, we shall be back.
Note: they get a 3.49, but we'll round them up if the service continues to be so warm and on point.
Since going back twice more, we have been constantly getting the Mongolian beef and thier beef chow fun with bok choy.
I have to say that they may as well be THE BEST Chinese resturant from Contra Costa County AND Solano county (besides the Sichuan resturant I reviewed also) as I have never had those two dishes made better ANYWHERE else!!
The mongolian beef had a really great sauce and it was actually spicy. The meat was extremely tender and not rough or chewy. The chow fun dish we has, likewise had very tender beef in it and the noodles were browned like thier SUPPOSED to be and were neither wet or too dry. Both dishes were surprisingly filling and a very decent portion size.
Each time I have come here, the staff and owner were always super friendly and accommodating. Normally only SF can provide us with such flavor and portions, not to mention the very reasonably prices they charge here. But what makes them a notch above most of the Chinese places I eat at in the city, is of course their polite and cheerful service. I believe we shall be returning on a regular basis!!

While shopping at Sun valley Mall, the hubby was hungry so we decided to look up places to eat in… Read more »
My favorite! The staff is always so friendly and the food is delicious and inexpensive.
As a health-concious person I love that they have brown rice available and they will cook any of the dishes without oil if you ask for "dry wok style." I often ask for my food to be prepared a specific way (I have ordered deep-fried dished grilled instead) and they are very accommodating and always get my order right without giving me grief for being high maintenance.
They are quick to deliver your food and they are often my fist pick if I am very hungry before even choosing a restaurant.
My favorite dishes:
Broccoli Prawns
Singapore Rice Noodles
Egg Drop Soup
I really like Mings, I work near it and its always a great option if I haven't brought my lunch for the day.
I have tried the kung pao chicken, honey walnut prawns and cashew chicken, all in a lunch special. It comes with your entree of choice, rice and an eggroll (hot and sour soup too if you are dining in). You can subsitute fried rice or chow mein for $1 if you like. The lunch special prices range from $5.95 to $7.95 I think. They will also serve brown rice or cook w/ no oil if you desire.
Usually if I am ordering for lunch, I will get the cashew chicken w. fried rice b/c it reheats well (yes the portions are big enough, there is usually that much left over!) The cuts of chicken are good quality and there are tons of veggies included with it, all very fresh tasting. The fried rice is good too, with veggies and bits of bbq'd pork.
I really want to try dining in sometime, they have a good sized menu and the owner and staff are super friendly and welcoming. I find myself wanting to try more and more each time I order from here.
Concord/Pleasant Hill Chinese food at it's finest. I've searched yelp and everyone raved about this place. After dining in and getting food delivered more than 3 times, it still leaves me unsatisfied. I've had way better & less greasy fried rice & honey walnut prawns, but considering how poopy CoCo County Chinese places are, this place is worth a go.
Quite impressed with their delivery service. They were able to deliver within an hour - considering my place is a 15minute drive away. I'm guessing the delivery person learned a little something from Initial D. ;)
P.S. What's up with that dead looking fish at their aquarium?!? YuCC.
I wish this place was closer to me!! I took a trip to Sam's Club and needed to find a place to eat in the area. Of course Yelp comes to my rescue and I find Mings. It had almost 4 out of 5 stars so i decided to give it a try. This restaurant is located in a small shopping center with one of my favorite stores TJMaxx. When you first walk in this place you first noticed the TOP 100 restaurants sign along with the famous Yelp sticker on the door. The menu is both in English and Chinese. We ordered the lunch specials with came with soup, egg roll and choice of rices. The portions are good and the food is quite tasty to my surprise. The service at this restaurant was astonishing! Chinese restaurants typically don't have the high customer service skills as a typical American establishment but this place certainly does. My grandma ordered the wrong dish and the waiter was quickly to apologize and get the correct order. Within a few minutes the owner brings out the correct dish and deeply apologizes for the mistake. From that experience even tho it was not their fault they made sure we were taken care of. If your in the area checkout MINGS!
Good, competent Chinese food that is several notches above the typical neighborhood wok shop. Service is fast, especially on take out orders. Dining in is always enjoyable. The food is quite well prepared and the staff is always very accommodating in requests to tweak the dishes for a bit more Asian versus Caucasian palate.
Probably the best quality neighborhood Chinese restaurant in the area.
Woohoo! This place is as good as it gets!!Thanks to Yelp, I found this place. After researching the best Chinese restaurants in Pleasant Hill, Mings I believe was # 1 that popped up. After reading all the great reviews, I stirred up a little appetite for this place.
Everything from the service to the environment was perfect.I arrived there just when they opened and was greeted with a warm and welcoming smile. The place is immaculately clean, well decorated and even the bathroom was nice.
So after hearing all the rave reviews over there Crispy Ginger Chicken, it sounded like my kind of dish.So I went ahead and ordered the lunch special of the Crispy Ginger Chicken which comes with soup of the day an egg roll and your choice of either fried rice, white or even brown rice, I ended up substituting the rice for steamed vegetables, witch is great because alot of place s don't do that and he recommended it, Love's that!!
Everything to the soup, my eggroll, and my main dish were FANTASTIC!!!!The soup was light and flavorful and left no bad after taste which some place do,eggroll was crisp fresh and delightful and of course the Ginger Chicken was mouth watering delicious.
They use no M.S.G. very low sodium and they even cook Dry Wok style with no oil.The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor!! Not to mention the prices are great! I am so looking forward to coming back and trying more of there fabulous dishes: )
Went to Ming's for the first time tonight & ordered two dishes to take-out: Ming's Crispy Ginger Chicken & off the Chef's Special side of the menu, Satay Sauce Beef. I ordered the Crispy Ginger Chicken because several Yelpers raved about it, however I couldn't have been more disappointed. The breaded chicken pieces looked & tasted like they came out of a bag of frozen pieces from Costco or a similar retailer. They certainly were not crispy unless one believes anything breaded is considered 'crispy.' They were as soft as any you get at McDonald's or other fast food joints. (And yes, I do eat at fast food places and am not a food snob, however I expect much better from a Chinese restaurant with 4 star reviews.) The sweet sauce looked & tasted like it was made with a simple sugar syrup or Karo, no sour to it as far as I'm concerned, and had flakes of red pepper and what I assume was ginger in it however the dish, while billed as Crispy Ginger Chicken was honestly devoid of ANY ginger flavor! I mean I tried to taste the ginger, even a bit of it, multiple times and could not! It was not a "hot spicy ginger sweet & sour sauce" as proclaimed on the menu, please believe me. I don't expect the 'hot' I get at first rate Hunan or Sichuan restaurants like Brandy Ho's or Hunan in S.F. but I do expect a sauce billed as hot spicy ginger to be Hot, Spicy & have decent ginger flavor. The Satay Sauce Beef, billed as being hot & spicy like the Ming's Crispy Ginger Chicken was NOT hot & spicy either. I mean not a bit, so it wasn't a question of not being hot & spicy enough for me a la' suburban Chinese food usually being made for non-Asian tastes. This dish was just not 'hot & spicy.' The beef was the same old virtually tasteless spongy variety one usually gets at local Chinese restaurants. Too well done (read brown, brown, brown) and not tender or tasty. Not fatty but rather with that chewyness that makes for inexpensive beef. And to top it off the Satay Sauce was anything BUT a Satay Sauce. It was rather a typical brown sauce, not the remotest bit 'Satay' in style or flavor. I didn't expect true Satay sauce (made with coconut milk & peanut paste or butter) in a neighborhood Chinese restaurant and to be fair some Chinese or Asian restaurants make a true Satay Sauce with onion and soy but it has FLAVOR. This sauce was no different than the typical, thin brown sauce one gets at most average local Chinese restaurants. I tried Ming's, having gone there instead of my usual absolute local favorite, Sichuan Fortune House on Woodsworth in Pl. Hill, hoping for evidence of food at the 4 star level (never mind the poster pasted in their front door listing them as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the U.S. in some sort of survey) but was thoroughly disappointed. Neither dish came close to meeting even a 3 star standard per Yelp. It's back to Sichuan Fortune House for me. And no, I have no ties to that place other than having given them a 5 star review & having eaten there a dozen times since. Truly amazing food, well above the scale of what I paid $17.00 for tonight.
WHO SAYS ALL CHINESE FOOD IS THE SAME. First off, the place is ran by the nicest people. The guy who is there when ever I stop by always chats me up about life. I had tried a few dishes before I took the plunge and went for the signature dish the SPICY GINGER CHICKEN. Get it, taste it, love it. You will understand!
Always excellent!! We go once per week for lunch.

Not the most convenient location for us, but based on Yelp reviews we decided to give it a try. We found quick, friendly service, and overall pretty good food. The ginger chicken was good but not exactly crispy. Walnut prawns were fresh and good, but I'm not a fan of the mayonaise sauce lots of places love to drizzle on this dish.
I will give them another try.
As a Chinese girl, for some odd reason, I do not care for Chinese food. I know that sounds strange, but because I've had it so much growing up, I've gotten sick of it. So it's very rare that I'll be able to find a Chinese restaurant that I absolutely love/would even give a second chance.
This restaurant by far, has surprised me!
There are three dishes you must consider:
1) Walnut Prawns -- OMG! I'm allergic to walnuts, but these prawns are totally off the hook! I will eat them til I get sick LOL and then my boyfriend has to literally hide the prawns from me! The sweet, creamy glaze is what drives me crazy.
2) Wonton Soup -- The wontons in there are okay.... a little too gummy for my taste but the soup base is delish!
3) Chicken with vegetables -- The vegetables are not cooked to death (like they do in most chinese restaurants)...you know what I mean...when they turn into this mush? I was pleased that the chicken was not dry either. The sauce was perfect! They could've however, used more salt.
Yes, give this restaurant a try. You will not regret it! Not only was this restaurant pleasing to the palate, it was also healthy. They cook everything with low-sodium ingredients and use no msg what-so-ever. Not only that, if you want your food cooked without oil for an even healthier alternative, they will do so upon request!
I've been following the reviews for this restaurant for a long time since it barely has any ratings below 4 stars. I have been intrigued by their impeccable reputation in which they call themselves, "excellent Chinese restaurant" for their superior culinary talents and service. So last night I brought my brother here to celebrate his birthday and since he is more of an avid consumer of Chinese cuisine than I am, I made sure to pick the highest rated Chinese restaurant in the entire Bay Area as a part of his birthday present.
This restaurant has a nice mix of ambiance that encompasses a front entrance fish tank and family style seating to juxtapose a trendy looking bar with a giant plasma TV to the side. Service was attentive and during the time of ordering the owner of the restaurant assured us that our choices were "very good". Here's what we ordered:
Honey walnut prawns ($10.95): Instead of lightly battered, this dish was deep fried layered with thick gooey mayo--greasier than expected. It was definitely not what I'm used to and the texture was off due to a lack of a thin crispy outer layer that could have otherwise be done with some fine wok skills.
Chicken with mixed vegetables ($7.25): Although the restaurant claims to be skimping on salt as their promo for healthier eating, this dish had a good amount of oyster sauce that typically comes with lots of sodium. The oyster sauce in my home has 415 mg per table spoon, not sure about theirs. To their credit, the chicken pieces were tender and vegetables were fresh and diverse. It was a decent straight away stir fry and nothing earth shattering.
Deluxe pan-fried noodles ($6.25 + $1.25 extra for egg noodles): With the entire noodle deep fried to look like instant noodles with a few brunt spots, this dish was served with a combination of beef, chicken, shrimps and vegetables that were oddly dry stir fried. With insufficient amount of sauce, we had a hard time breaking the noodles apart and mixing the ingredients was daunting without causing things to constantly fall out of our plate. The taste was okay but the sauce in which it was used was unexpectedly different from the Cantonese traditions I've experienced.
To me, the food was definitely 3 stars similar to King Dong or Little Hong Kong Cafe. It was no better than Sam Woo, Great China, Hop Li, Hop Woo, or Capitol Restaurant--just to name a few. What really upsets me was that our chicken and noodle dishes were almost identical with the exceptions of two ingredients. Both dishes came with the same sauce for the baseline taste and identical combination of vegetables and chicken stir fry. I was very upset by that since we could have tried other dishes had we known in advance that they were going to be repetitive.
So we pointed these observations to the first server who laughed it off and dismissed it by pointing to the noodles as the reason for why they were different, "They are different dishes, different ingredient" he said. Later, when the owner of the restaurant came by to check on us, I pointed to him that we should have been informed during the time we were ordering that these two dishes were going to be too similar, his response was, "Oh, good". Knowing that I was peeved, he decided to handle the payment with my brother even though I was the one who handed over my credit card. He also decided to tell my brother separately that they have lots of customers who do takeouts and tonight's lackluster patronage was unusual. I felt so patronized at that point I couldn't wait to leave. In the end, I felt bad for my brother since we could have gone to a much better place that was closer to our areas.
In the end, I give my experience a very generous 3 stars. Never again.
Thanks so much, Yelp, for rating this place! We probably never would have made it out here if it wasn't for you.
First off, two words--brown rice. Don't flame me too hard, purists, and there's a time and place for white rice, but it's so nice to have an healthy option. ironically I seem to remember brown rice at the majority of Chinese restaurants in that completely unhealthy nugget of the Midwest that I grew up in, but in health(ier) conscious California it's absent from menus.
The service is super attentive and friendly. My husband and I are stull trying to find a dish to stick with, but so far everything has been good.
I take that back--the vegetarian spring rolls are basically all cabbage. Boo!
My lover had been raving about this place for ages. Given that I am born-and-bred Chinese and she is not, I was a little sceptical.
This was my last stop while I was home before I drove an 8-hour trip back to San Diego in 6.5 hours-- my "last supper", I called it. We both got the lunch special. I got chicken curry with sides of rice and fried wonton. The lunch special is not only rather generous but also economic. Great for the current eekconomy.
The hot and sour soup was alright, the fried wonton was literally that-- a fried wonton wrapper. The chicken curry was good, but wasn't thick like I like it (thickened with milk, but I suppose that's not Chinese style) and there were no potatoes! The chicken was tender, though, and overall it was delicious, though not what I was expecting.
All in all, a pleasant experience. The food was delicious, honestly, and indeed had an authentic Chinese taste. The service was friendly. It may not be knock-your-brains-out good, but it's pretty good.
Wow! I can not say enough good things about Mings. We eat there frequently and everything I have ever tried is fantastic. It's not easy to find really good Chinese restaurants in the area and when you compare all the Chineses restaurants to Ming's, he leaves the competition in the dust!!
The staff there is SUPER friendly and if they don't have something they'll try to make it for you. The Staff always seems to recognize you and will even carry your order to your car sometimes!! I have never had better service from any restaurant!
Ming you rock!
This is the best lunch spot ever!!! the lunch specials are huge with great prices!!!! Mr. Ming is so nice!

the best lunch spot ever!
salt and pepper beef = heaven!
Went back last night (Friday) at around 7:00, maybe. Prime time. This time we orderd like people who actually have brains; meaning we tried for some balance. We knew we were not big fans of their potstickers (too doughy), so we ordered something I would not normally consider (because we were starving to death) - egg rolls. They were fine - I realized I'm just not thrilled with egg rolls, I guess. Then Rob ordered the walnut prawns, because he's been fantasizing about them since we were last there (I guess the honeymoon is over?) and we also decided to try the mu shu pork (sorry if I'm butchering the spelling, but I've been drinking wine). I would not normally order that because I love spicy things, but I was having problems finding spicy items that 1. were not prawns and 2. were not deep fried, so I decided to let go of the spicy yen. Or is it yuan? I'd better put the glass of wine down..... Okay - then we also ordered the mongolian beef. Oh! I guess that came under the catagory of spicy.
It was all scrumptious. Delicious. The walnut prawns had the lightest, most delicate batter - and were then topped by a wonderful sauce that was not too heavy, not too sweet - just perfect. Not the normal coma-inducing glop you would find elsewhere. But the mu shu pork...it was slightly smoky, perfectly seasoned - and the pork itself was (swoon...oh, sorry - where was I?) ...the pork itself was SO tender. SO succulent. The entire thing was so perfectly balanced.....and then there was the Mongolian beef. Rob was less than thrilled about all the onions (he doesn't like onions - wierdo), but we both agreed that overall, the dish was amazing. The beef, like the pork in the mu shu, was SO tender and delicious....it was so well seasoned....I may have to go back there right now. But I've been drinking wine and it's not walking distance....
Service, as always, was great. Mr. Ming seems to really, honestly care that his customers are happy. Great for his business - and for his customers. We will definitely be regulars. Frequent regulars.

The cashier was cool to help me pick out something since there were just sooo many choices of things to order. I ended up with the tofu & mixed vegetables with chow mein, which is $1 extra. Large portions, good value. A little greasier then I would have liked it to be. This place is a bit off my path so I'm not sure how often I will come, but I'd definitely recommend it if you are in the area.
Wow, had their Honey Walnut Prawns Luncheon Special just a a while ago and it was good! It's served with the soup of the day, fried wonton or egg roll and steamed rice. The small bowl of soup I got was alright. It was kind of sweet and sour. The veggie egg roll was hot and crispy. Rice was a bit cold, but it wasn't too hard or soft. The honey walnut shrimp were the bomb! Hot, crispy and plentiful. Not just 4-5 pieces, but like 10-12 pieces. I don't know... they were just too delicious for me to take the time and count. I was surprised that the shrimp were pretty big too. So for $6.95+tax, I'm satisfied with what I got for lunch :D

I have been trying for the life of me to find a good delivery chinese food place....until now they have all taken over an hour to get the food to me or the food has been terrible.
Mings was amazing! They delivered it in 20 minutes and it was hope. The Ginger chicken was fabulous as well as the walnut shrimp. I highly recommend them. :-)
So. HAPPY!
I used to work over in the Willows shopping center at CompUSA where I would enjoy Far East Garden nearly daily. The Crispy Ginger Chicken is just the freaking best chinese food item I have ever come across and for lack of a better description....I am a junkie to the crack-infused Crispy Ginger Chicken!
Thanks Yelpers for pointing me to this place and informing me that they had moved and opened the same restaurant under a different name. Without you, there is NO WAY I would have ever found it again.. After nearly 3+ years of not seeing these people, after I walked in and sat down the waiter proclaimed "Oh! I remember you! You Crispy Ginger Chicken!" LOL..really. :-)
I have not had any item from this place that I have not enjoyed. The new location, like the last incarnation, is clean with a friendly service staff.
Please go and try...you will be happy that you did.
The meal started out with a little bump, but the staff remedied it quickly. We got the crispy garlic chicken and the honey walnut prawns based on other yelpers' reviews. Really tasty. It was the fastest service I've ever had anywhere. The staff always filled my water glass promptly and was attentive without hovering. Overall a good experience and I'll be heading back to try some more dishes.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. We ordered usual take-out fare of crab puffs, chow fun, crispy ginger chicken, and foil wrapped chicken.
I don't have any complaints about the food and the super attentive service will bring me back. Keep in mind, this is take-out style cuisine.
Very excited when I discovered Mings. My family and I used to go to some other Chinese place, the name escapes me, but MINGS is definitely the best in Pleasant Hill! The Crispy Ginger chicken is to die for! Bascially anything with that sauce on it is great! Food is fresh and always served up fast, not to mention the people that work there are super nice and friendly.
The food here was fresh, quick, delicious, and terrific value.
Imagine $36 for
Two huge seafood dishes:
1. Seafood Delight (Cantonese style) with generous and large shrimp, scallops, tender squid, with perfectly done snow peas, shoots, and carrots
2. Honey Walnut Shrimp: simply one of the best I've ever eaten.
A custom order:
A braised tofu with chicken (they even asked what kind of chicken--white or leg meat--now when was the last time you were asked the kind of chicken you wanted in a dish?)
Rice and a hot and sour soup that was richer and tastier than the many I've suffered through.
The service was particularly excellent with the owner/manager taking a personal interest in chatting with his guests and the food coming out quickly and presented very nicely.
All in all, a place I would recommend returning again and again.
UPDATE: FOUND OUT THAT THEY ARE OWNED BY THE SAME PEOPLE THAT OWNED FAR EAST GARDEN IN THE WILLOWS, AND THAT THEY SERVE THEIR CRISPY GINGER CHICKEN. OOOOH YEAH.
We go to every Chinese restaurant that opens, hoping that we find one comparable to those restaurants on the west side of the Caldecott.
We finally found one!
The food is great, and the staff is wonderful, recognizing us on our second visit. I love that!
Great service, good food, and a family friendly atmosphere. I've been there for "Date Night" with the wife and with a group of ten and either way our food was on the table fast and our water glasses were always full. Their Honey Walnut Prawns are awesome. I highly recommend the Sesame Beef and the legendary Ginger Chicken. I dislike grrrrreasy fried rice, that's why this place rocks, their rice is the bee's knees. You can get an awesome lunch plus drink for around $8 or have a really nice dinner for two under $30. Go to Ming's and taste the yummy.
We have ordered take out & eaten in at Mings about a half dozens times now & its alway been fresh, high quality food with just the right seasoning...
We ordered take out at the front counter & it was ready in ten minutes, hot fresh & delious.......
Hot & spicy eggplant, asparagus in blackbean sauce with shrimp ,house special fried rice & war wonton soup were all tasty & fresh .
Enough food for three for dinner & lunch the next day.
$32.00 not bad
Not bad at all....the best part about it is not just the food, but the staff. They are friendly and welcoming. Real neighborhood restaurant with good food.
I want to say that I am happy that in my area is such an excellent Chinese restaurant as "MIng's" in Pleasant Hill. Great, freshest food you can imagine! I use this restaurant for parties and often buy food to go when I have friends at my house, for more than a year. Quality of their food and service in the restaurant was always 5 stars. I recommend to everyone who like Chinese food check them out. I promise you will not regreat it. Great job!
The best Chinese food in the area with the friendliest service to boot. On a couple occasions, the owner offered (and once insisted) on carringing the food to my car! If you don't see something on the menu, just ask and if he has the ingredients, he'll make it up.
The sauces on the dishes are just right... not too heavy, not too thin.
I just recently tried mings from the reviews I found here. They have good quality food. Their lunch specials are served any time and are decently priced for the amount of food u get.
I like the sesame chicken and fried rice :)
The establishment is very nice. I like the fishtank at the entrance.
The staff is friendly and curtious.
Will continue eating here.
My family and I have been coming here since it opened. We love the food and we love Ming. He is a great owner..very nice and very gracious. Excellent food...some of our favorites are Potstickers (best potstickers in the area since Yet Wah in Concord closed) and Salt & Pepper Fish Filet and their Chicken and Basil special is great too. So many things it is hard to go wrong....try it you will enjoy it.
Try their crispy ginger chicken. I ordered it with a side of fried rice and egg roll. Also came with hot and sour soup. It was okay, nothing special. It was cheap though, only $7.71 that's including tax. The food came fast and the waiter was very nice and came around quickly to refill your glass of water. Hope this place sticks around so I get to try more stuff out. Entire menu is in english, which I thought were kinda weird because they spoke cantonese and is a chinese estalishment. Show some love to your chinese reading folk in the area. For now, they get three stars.
OM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM is the only sound you should be making after you're served food here. :D
I think I found out about this place after driving by multiple times and finally noticing that there was a chinese restaurant tucked into the shopping plaza next to TJMaxx. I'm really glad I tried it because I haven't gone to another chinese restaurant in the area since.
Mine and my bf's old fav used to be the now defunct Sun Sun Garden next to Groce-Out in central Pleasant Hill. We're not food connoisseurs or anything but from what I can tell Ming's is one of the best chinese places I've ever tried.
I'm a DVC student and Ming's has become my "go-to to-go" place near enough to DVC. Plus with the anytime Lunch specials, it's affordable (about $6 or $7). My staple favorite is the string bean chicken (a bit boring for some people I guess, but I love it as an everyday sort of lunch).
I haven't tried much of the menu and I've yet to try this famed Crispy Ginger Chicken that other people have mentioned in reviews, but I look forward to trying it and a whole bunch of other things next time I dine in. :D
Just had Ming's for lunch today-FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER due to all the rave Yelp! reviews. Let me just say that this place is everything you people described-and more! Thanks to everyone who yelped about their positive experience at Ming's. Without you, my co-workers & I would never have found this place. Now, onto our dining experience; we arrived at 1130AM for lunch. The place wasn't too crowded, which was nice because we had the place to ourselves. The waiter was prompt to take our orders. Within a few minutes our hot & sour soup came out. Surprisingly it was actually HOT! Not too many places serve you hot soup anymore! Anyway, immediately following the delivery of our soup came our entrees. We each ordered different lunch specials. Out of the Honey Walnut Prawns, Mongolian Beef, Crispy Ginger Chicken, and the Deluxe Chow Fun, I liked the Honey Walnut Prawns the most! So crispy and sweet! Mmmmm, just the way I like it! Anyway, I could go on and on about this place but I won't. You'll just have to check it out for your self...
We have tried Ming's a couple of times for takeout. It's better than the other local options, but doesn't really stand up against Uncle Yu's.
The food goes easy on the salt, but at times is a little bland. Probably better as a dine-in option than for takeout.
The service is really great. Both times there was a slight mix-up with our order, and they gave us extra food for free.
