Let's see where do I begin? Well for starters I love going to this place to listen to the Aristocrats from NY complain about the sushi. Are you serious? Come on it's a BUFFET for crying out loud. Look. I'll be the first to admit that the sushi is pretty middle of the road and a very small selection at that but I go because it's a buffet. I want to do my part to support the crews of the Northwestern, Time Bandit, Cornelia Maria and the like. Yes I love the crab legs. Where else can you eat 10lbs of snow crab for $17.00? (For us lay people that's about $1.70 lb cooked). Yes they offer a variety of other oriental delights including a Mongolian BBQ where you choose your protein and vegetables, then your sauce and it is cooked right in front of you.
No this place is not on par with New York or even Philly's high brow restaurants and sushi bars but this isn't bad for the buck. If your looking for a place where you really do get the most for your dollar, I recommend Ming Dynasty. -

Ming!!!!!
This place is a a staple in my family, as my mom and aunts live close by. I've been about 4 or 5 times and for what it is, it's not bad. It's not NYC chinese food, nor is it even really traditional chinese food.
However, on the upside, the food is good, clean and the buffet has a lot of great items to choose from.
My favorite was always "Walnut Shrimp." -

Oh Ming! You've satisfied the cravings of many a hungry high school student. The buffet prices are pretty reasonable; lunch is $8 and dinner is $15. It is everything you'd expect from a Chinese buffet. Lunch includes the buffet, a drink, salad bar, and dessert (they even have soft-serve ice cream). For dinner you get everything included in the lunch, plus the sushi bar and Mongolian grill. Monday through Thursday they have Prime Rib, and on Sundays you can get all-you-can-eat Snow Crab Legs.
I've always left Ming with a full belly and a pretty full wallet. But beware, you can only stay for 2 hours.
They also have a take out menu and party trays. -

You need to go to this place with realistic expectations: not authentic Chinese food (cheesesteak eggroll, really?), a buffet is not the best way to eat well, and you get what you pay for. BUT when we are on LBI, we go here! Why?
1) All you can eat (and soda or iced tea) - great with teenagers
2) Constantly refilled buffet with some things that are actually pretty tasty
3) Surprisingly decent and freshly made sushi (just a few straightforword maki rolls)
4) To order Mongolian grill
5) Gentle prices - $16 p.p. plus a tip
6) Nice servers
7) Family and large group friendly
Given the often over-priced and over-rated places down here, Mings is a "nice enough" spot where you get good value and a decent meal. We recommend this spot to all our guests with the caveats above and they do like it - as do we. -

A solid buffet, good quality overall with a few dud food items. As is the case with most buffets, lunch is much more reasonably priced.
