I went in for the jewelry, and left with stones and crystals instead.  Mineralistic not only has it all - but they know what they're selling and can answer questions diligently.

The store is beautifully designed and the layout is easy to follow.  At times, it feels a little too "hippie", but that's expected.

Beautiful merchandise awaits you, whatever you may be seeking.  In all likelihood, you'll find something that suits you well and will last you a long time.

I own several pieces of jewelry from here. I second Candice B's review: great amber selection!  The employees are very helpful and friendly as well. I'm a really picky ring buyer, as I have abnormally small knuckles/fingers I suppose, so I have to go through pretty much the whole collection to find something that fits. They get major points for never getting frustrated with my requests.
I got a pair of beautiful Baltic amber earrings for $18 not too long ago, which I thought was a steal. They have some HUGE chunks of amber and other stones which are obviously much more expensive, but you can walk out of here with a set of jewelry that doesn't break the bank. Doesn't hurt that I live 2 blocks away!

These days it's hard for me to remember that there are still places that I actually like in the thick of South Street (there are still five but there used to be at least 20). Otherwise I would have probably reviewed this spot sooner.
The store layout can be pretty enchanting and soothing. walk around and you'll come across all kinds of rare earth stones, gems, baubles, and even dragon statues. you can even pick up good stuff like chess sets and good smelling incense. there's a little bit inside that anyone can appreciate. definitely one of the few spots that can still make a trip on South Street worth it.

Mineralistic sells beautiful amber jewelry.
My girlfriend loves amber.
When I buy her amber, she is happy.

See where this is going?

For those not a fan of amber, there's plenty of other stuff in the store to see too: glass animals, pewter, earth and gem stones, silver, fantasy-related kitch, and a black cat. It's always a must-see on a South Street visit.

I'll never forget Mineralistic, the first store I ever walked into on my first ever visit to South St.  It's a feast for the eyes what with wizards and fairies and unicorns glittering all over the shelves.  I think that housewares, frou frou decorations, and trinkets are junk, but lots of people are happy to buy pretty things with no real functional value.  3 stars for finding that niche market.

Even though I'd never buy anything from M., I appreciate how beautifully the store is set up.  It's easy to just throw a bunch of crap on the sales floor, but M. has really used its merchandise to turn the store into a delightful place.  Plus M. isn't one of these new entrants on the South St. scene; it's been here at least a decade.  Hooray for old timers--1 more star!

Mineralistic is a bit like Garland of Letters but Mineralistic sells a ton more stones and decor things, less books and other useful gifts.

Here you will be surrounded by stones and gems for healing, displaying and wearing. There are also tons of gargoyles, fairy figurines and incense. This is a very specific type of clientel, while Garland of Letters is more for anyone just looking for something different.

I was so excited to find that this place actually carries blue tourmaline!  For those of us born in December, this was our first "official birthstone".
They also have the most beautiful store kitty!  He's fat and black...I remember awhile back when he had hurt his little leg and had a cast on it...well now I'm just getting hooked up on the cat.  Moving back to the merchandise they sell here.  They have a ton of stones and statues, beautiful jewelry, awesome chess sets and a ton of neat things.
If you're really into Gemstones or Wizards and that type of thing this place is for you.
If you're into fantastic stone jewelry, unique rings, chess, this place is for you too.
If you love when stores have cute little animals keeping guard of the place even if they are lazy bastards...you have to go meet the store cat here.
If you are allergic to cats....and you go here....well then you're just not listening.
