Review from Gary C.
Washington, NC
This is my favorite place to eat in Little Washington. Mimi's has some of the best sandwiches and soups around, a great atmosphere with a view of the river, and the best staff around. It's an everyday treat for me. If you need a bottle of wine, a beer, etc. Mimi's offers that too!
And if you actually get the pleasure of meeting Mimi herself, you'll find out why this is such a great place.
Oh and the freshly baked muffins are just awesome! -

CLOSED. I really liked Mimi's, but to the dismay of those living in Washington, the restaurant recently closed up shop forever--very unexpectedly and abruptly. The breakfast bagel was my favorite, and the staff were always very friendly to me. This was a great place to grab a bite to eat, enjoying outdoor seating and a view of the Pamlico River. I hope Mimi's comes back or is replaced by a business that can survive in this small town.

Every time I visit Greenville, NC, I visit Washington, NC because it is so nearby and beautiful. Everytime I visit Washington, I visit Mimi's. It is a small cafe with a great location. Every table has a view of the Pamlico River and there is a nice porch where you can relax on a warm day. They recently have expanded hours to the evenings on the weekend but I have only had breakfast and lunch there.
The food is good sandwich fare and if you get a special, it is a very reasonable cost. For two people, it ranges from $17-$22. Mimi's sides are especially excellent (might I suggest the Orzo salad or the dill potato salad... please don't just get the Sun Chips, you are missing out!).
The staff is always very friendly and it does not take long to feel like a regular. Mimi's also has free wifi (although I have never used it). It is a place where you can sit around on the porch with a beer when it is warm, or, when it is cold, stare out the big windows at the water with a cup of coffee or tea. The cafe is a great place to grab a bite and enjoy friends in the wonderful town of Washington. -

This is a cute little cafe right on the waterfront. We sat outside and the service was quick. I had a shrimp "po boy"-which was a small sub with shrimp, greens, and a creole sauce. It was delicious and perfect on a hot day. Most of the sandwiches come with sun chips or for $1 more soup or salad. We also tried a turkey salad with fresh greens (no iceburg), dried cranberries, chickpeas, and a poppyseed dressing.
They have a lot of great healthy items on the menu and is a perfect place to bring a lunch date. They also had a cute little book swap inside and clean bathrooms.
