Great pizza which I was not expecting!  Full of flavor.  Their Burgers and Sandwiches are pretty good, nothing exceptional but any of them you order will be solid.  Their fries are great!  And to top it all off you can order on their website and you get a 10% discount and most food is ready in 15-20 min for pick up or about 45 for delivery, which comes in handy for those days I dont want to leave my house.

They are in the process of remodeling...again... so im excited to see what the finished product will look like

Nachos, pizza and wings, oh my!

Yummy yummy in my tummy.

The nachos are my favorite.  And the gourmet pizzas.  The wings are good, but they don't have very good ranch/blue cheese/whatever that white stuff is sauce.

PS.  This is straight up soak-up-that-alcohol-drunken bar food delivered to your front door.  Do not expect anything more.

I live in the area, and it's quickly become my go-to pizza/Italian joint - fast and tasty. Unexpected winners - the tomato soup, the chicken artichoke flatbread sammich and the guacamole n' chips.

Finally got back there for the second time.  I tried the burger this time and it was decent, not necessarily gourment but ok.  I think the place still is worth a visit, particulary after bar time.  Best time to go.

Ordered Milwood from GrubHub and though it took about 55 minutes, it was still within their hour time quote.

- chicken flatbread sandwich with basil, tomatoes and mozzarella, which came with chips / salsa - was very tasty but feel like the chicken was from a bag
- cheddar / broccoli soup - AMAZING - why did I only order a cup?!

Friendly delivery guy, reasonable prices, will order again.

I've gotten pizzas delivered from Milwood approximately one million times since I moved to the city. They are always tasty, always piping hot, and while they're not cheap, per se, they're definitely in a reasonable price range. The pizzas also have: appropriate quantities of sauce; cheese that does that nice stringy thing when you first try to separate a slice; crust that is crunchy without being a dang cracker. It is the four-door sedan of pizzas: nothing flashy, nothing astounding, but it will do what it needs to do and you will be comfortable and happy with the results.

When you're rocking an absolutely gnarly bachelorette party induced hangover, nothing will make you feel better faster than a big, juicy burger and fries.  Fortunately Milwood delivers their big, juicy burgers right to your doorstep.  This is important because when I'm hung over, the last thing I want to do is brush my hair, wash my face, but on a bra and drive my tired ass somewhere to pick up food.

Speeeedy delivery, yo!  The man with the food was at my apartment well under the quoted hour delivery time.  And he told me that you could, "Hide a dead body in your next door neighbor's yard," due to their crazy, overgrown grass and trees.  I like a sense of humor in a delivery man.  Even though he forgot my diet Coke in his car, he ran back down to get it on the quick.  Maybe too quick.  I thought he was going to start hyperventilating after climbing my stairs again!

The burger is heaven.  Its cooked well, the toppings are fresh and plentiful and the bun is puffy and soft.  It was also packed well in the to-go container, so it held its shape nicely.  Sweet.

The fries?  Meh.  I think fries are hard to deliver.  The just lose their magic after they've been sitting for too long, so that's one problem, and I'm also just not a huge fan of seasoned fries.  These are no exception.

So five majorly necessary stars for the burger and awesome delivery guy.  Minus one star for lackluster fries.

Good place for burgers.  Pizza is okay if you like crispy crust, California Kitchen style but they do use canned ingredients.  If you ask Reza, the owner, what he would recommend he will tell you try the burgers.  They are still trying to streamline their process because there is a fair amount inconsistency and "sorry we dropped your food".   The place is very clean, the food is reasonably priced and the help is friendly.  Overall a good value.

We ordered a thin crust pizza and wings.  The hot wings were ok, but no celery and the blue cheese sauce had no blue cheese flavor at all. Tasted like mayonaise.  Pizza totally overpriced.  Too much cheese and couldn't taste any sauce.  And for $2.50 per ingredeint?  Sausage was stingy and tasted like out of a can.  Spinach was kinda pathetic as well, and I swear it tasted like dominoes.

Just moved to Wicker Park and have had Milwood 5x so far.  We keep saying we don't want to eat here to often and get sick of it, but we keep coming whenever we can't figure out anywhere else to go.  This is my running tally of what I've eaten as I want to try something different every time I go -  unless I have a real hankering for a burger, because Milwood makes an AWESOME burger.

First - about the service and employees.  Everyone I've dealt with has been very nice and accomodating with my bf's very picky requests.  There's never been more than 2 tables full whenever I go.  They do a ton of delivery business, there's usually at least 5 takeout receipts on the counter whenever I order.  Take out / Eat in orders have taken about 15 min to get to the table.  Delivery - we ordered online and got 10% off.  The website quoted us a time and they arrived about 5 min late of that time - but that's pretty impressive.

Food:
Fries - love. them. fries.  I can't get enough.  They have an awesome seasoning on them, you can see the cracked pepper.  Try to eat them at the restaurant so you get them at their best when they are hot and crispy.

Burgers - 1/2 lb angus, I order mine well done.  Burgers have always been juicy and wonderfully seasoned.  They have great hearty buns too that don't fall apart or get too soggy.  (1) Mushroom & Swiss - yummy, plenty of mushrooms, goes well with the swiss.  (2) BBQ bacon burger (had this twice).  TONS of bacon, every bite got bacon.  Melty cheddar on top.  Winner so far = BBQ bacon burger.

Sandwiches - (1) BBQ bacon chicken sandwich - grilled chicken on a bun with bbq sauce, cheese and bacon. Unfortunately they left the bacon off!  But it was still good, but would have been better with bacon.  The "healthy" alternative to the bbq bacon burger. (2) Parmigiana chicken sandwich - this was served on a french roll.  Roll had a crispy crust but was nice and soft.  Breaded chicken was good, and the mozzarella was nice and melty, but they didn't put enough marinara sauce on it for my taste.  Winner so far = BBQ bacon chicken sandwich.

Choc chip cookies.  Comes in a pack of 2.  I don't know if these are made fresh, as whenever I have them they are just a little bit stale... I keep getting them though hoping I will get a nice batch, but they never taste fresh. Maybe next time...

I will keep adding as I try more items.  This is definitely one of my favorite new neighborhood restaurants.

Why Hello Milwood!  I've driven by this place quite a few times on my way home from work/shopping/etc.  The big windows and open dining room always made the restaurant look so inviting.  On a very lazy Sunday, after searching both Yelp! and Grubhub for some options, I decided to give them a try for some LATE dinner.

When I called, I was very surprised by the excitement of the women answering the phone.  I ordered the Southwest burger, fries and a diet coke.  The women promised my order in 10-15 minutes, just enough time for me to slip on shoes and walk around the corner.  Milwood is located on the southwest corner of Milwaukee and Wood (go figure) in Wicker Park.  I am super excited that they have started to open more restaurants/bars/boutiques in the block span between Wolcott and Paulina.

Arriving 7 minutes later, my burger was being pack up to go for me.  I asked the cashier if the place was BYOB since I'd seen customers drinking in there but saw no bar.  She informed me they were BYOB until they received their liquor license.  A big plus for me!!

Checking out the burger when I got home, I was excited to see it was already cut in half.  The burger was HUGE... too big for one meal.  I was happy I could leave the second half in the box for an easy lunch tomorrow.  The burger itself was delicious.  Juicy, stuffed with guac and the spicy mayo added a nice kick!  I had ordered Medium but it was a little closer to medium rare.  Personally, I'd rather have a burger closer to medium rare than medium well but this might be an issue for some customers.

Their fries were wonderfully seasoned and nice and crisp on the outside but still tender on the inside.  I added some Frank's Red Hot from home and they were perfect!!

This place receives 4 stars from me...
1 for the burger and fries
2 for the nice service
3 for the BYOB
and 4 for the LATE hours.. they deliver every day of the week until 2:15am.

I will definitely be making a trip back to Milwood and bring my own beer!

I stopped in MIllwood last Friday for dinner for a hearty meal before a night of hearty drinking.  So the selection is burgers, pizza, and sandwiches -- I went for a burger and fries.  For some reason the Pizza Burger caught my eye... probably the promise of mozzarella and pepperoni convinced me.  Like many things that try to be more than one thing, it was great at neither but it was a suitable burger.  Sprinkled with salt, it was great.

My friend, Sean L. got the Southwest burger and loved it and I'll take his word for it.  I'll be back to try the rest of the menu... the pizza burger probably won't enter my stomach anytime soon.

What a lifesaver for a hungry visitor at midnight!

I was staying in a hotel in Streeterville that closed its kitchen at 10pm, leaving me with a pathetic selection of 5 room service items. I wanted something besides a cold sandwich and chips, so my fingers went searching online to find a yelp discussion on delivery-- pointed me to http://grubhub.com.  I found a number of restaurants that deliver and were open at that very moment, including Milwood Pizza.

I found a detailed menu, called to be answered by a cheery gal who happily took my order.  She promised delivery within 45min - 1 hr.  It was probably about 35-40 minutes till the delivery driver showed up.

The pricing was more than reasonable for delivery.  I ordered a hamburger $7.95, a side salad, $3.50, tomatoe bisque soup $4.29, and a beverage for $1.80.  (minimum is $15, plus a $3 delivery fee).  So with a $5 tip, it was $28 and I couldn't even finish all the food.

The food was tasty-- very nice soup, fresh salad, and a decent hamburger cooked to order with seasoned fries.

So all in all, I was a happy camper, freed from the prison of pre-packaged, plastic-wrapped sandwiches.  Thank You Milwood Pizza!!

I got wings in barbecue sauce last night, and they were delicious! Sloppy, but delicious...

I also heard that they will have a patio and booze in the summer sometime..

Since my first review, I've also tried a couple more burgers, the chicken sandwich, and the buffalo chicken sandwich. All were good; it should be mentioned that the buffalo was pretty dang buffalo-ey, at least for this hot-food-wimp.

I haven't tried the pizza, as I'm not that into thin-crust, but everything else has been great so far.

Milwood is pretty decent.  I've had them for delivery, and they were speedy, and the food arrived hot.

They serve 2 kinds of wings at Milwood: BBQ and Lime Chili.  No buffalo sauce here!!  It was actually sort of refreshing to see different sauces on the menu.  Lime chili was definitely tastier than BBQ.

I've also had their pizza.  Pretty decent thin crust.  Tasty, but  not anything groundbreakingly new.

All in all, pretty good bar food for a non-bar.  That delivers.  I'd do it again.

I was a nice day, and I wanted to sit down in a place with lots of windows and catch the Cubs game. I went into Millwood, wary that the place is always empty when I pass by. I was craving some veggies and opted the southwest citrus salad with shrimp. It came out quickly and was yummy. The salad had plenty of medium sized shrimp, a nice kick in the dressing and just the right amount of cilantro. I will have to come back for the burgers.

We've only ordered Milwood in, but the food came right on time and was delicious.

We started with the Southwestern eggrolls, which were awesome. We moved to Chicago from Austin, TX, so we are used to eating a lot of Southwestern food, and these were just top notch. The dipping sauce - a chipotle mayo - was, dare I say, better than what I'd get back in Austin!

I had the simple Milwood burger for my entree, and it was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite, and the fries were not too seasoned, a problem I sometimes have with seasoned fries. My fiance had the "Blazin Burger" and adored it. I warn you that this is not for the faint of burger hearts (or taste buds). He lives for spicy foods, and he had to sit back and take a break from the spice. (And apparently he loved that.)  He said that he still felt it an hour later. So, if you are a spice lover, check that one out. Next time I want to try to Southwestern and see how their guacamole is.

Bun - Very nice, tasty bun. Nothing fancy, no sesame seeds or other such sprinklings. The bun didn't fall apart after a few bites like other large burger buns tend to, and best of all, they come cut in half so they are easily handle-able and insert-into-mouth-able.

Burger - Half-pound, fresh tasting angus beef. Not a lot of seasoning that I could tell, but tasty nonetheless.

Toppings - I chose the The Southwestern, which included guacamole, pepper jack cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo. The veggies, especially the onions, were super fresh and crisp. The guacamole was VERY tasty, and I opted to top it all off with some bacon, because I thought I'd get my entire day's worth of calories in one sitting. Smart, right?

Sides - Fries come standard with every burger. They are good, seasoned, and reminded me of Rally's fries, but not as greasy. If you like soft or soggy fries, these aren't for you, they have a nice crunchy batter and soft, yummy insides.

Overall - I could see Milwood being a regular burger stop. Very enjoyable experience.

Whose got two thumbs and is a big fan of Millwood?  THIS GUY!

I tried the Southwest Burger and asked them to add Giardiniera for more spice, which they did.  I also had the Southwestern Egg Rolls.

Burger + Fries: Burger was delicious (love the spicy mayo) , fries were so good they were almost better than the burger.

Egg Rolls:  Very good, also with spicy mayo.

Both thumbs up!

My b/f ordered a pizza on Thursday and two days later we are still recovering from whatever was in it. Awful pizza; I could not believe the noises our stomachs were making afterwards. Needless to say we both had to call in sick the next day at work after a sleepless night of bathroom visits. My b/f thinks he will never eat pizza again. BAD.

...We should have stuck with the good stuff-Leona's & Pequod's pizza. So much for trying somthing new.

So I woke up yesterday morning craving a cheeseburger.  It's an odd thing to crave at 7AM, and I blame it on Dr. Oz.  I'm fairly certain he's been breaking into my house and whispering into my ear at night about eating foods high in fiber and Omega-3's.  Either that or I've been watching a lot Oprah right before I go to bed.  Anyway, weeks of healthful eating led to the biggest burger craving I've ever experienced, and a cheeseburger was all I could think about by the time I got home last night.  What I really wanted was a burger from Kuma's, but since I couldn't convince any one to go out of network for dinner on such a cold night, we ended up around the corner at the Milwood, which I had been meaning to try out anyway.

Given the intensiveness of the burger craving and the fact that I had my heart set on what many would agree is the best burger in Chicago, I had really set myself up for profound disappointment here, but Milwood delivered well enough.  By which I mean, I did *not* leave there thinking, "man, I wish I had traveled several miles in sub-zero temperatures to go to Kuma's by myself."  Of course the burger wasn't as good as I would've had at Kuma's, but few are, and it did indeed satisfy my burger craving.  It also looks like they have a whole lot of other tasty things on the menu - and they deliver, and they're open till bar time, all of which I'll likely learn more about in coming months.  Overall, it's really only a three-star dining experience, but they give it to you for a two star price - at least by the standards of this neighborhood - so I'm giving it four stars overall.

Cons: I could really, REALLY do without the music videos.  Also, I wanted a beer, and they don't have any.  Not sure if you can take it in with you. I assumed they didn't have a liquor license and really had my heart set on a milkshake instead, which they also don't have and I find to be a serious oversight.  Oddly enough, though, a cherry coke tasted great with the Milwood burger... and yes, upon re-reading this review, I *am* a little concerned I might be pregnant.  But that's neither here nor there.  Suffice to say, I woke up this morning craving only coffee, and I'm back to eating meals of berries and nuts like a good squirrel.  Job well done, Milwood.

I checked this place out today.  They told me they were no longer selling slices.  Instead they were selling personal pizzas.  The pizza was about 6 inches but cheap so I can't really complain.  However, the crust was weird. It was like it was a pita.   It was too soft and definitely not a brick oven pizza.  I would go back to try the burgers.

Went back and tried the breaded chicken sandwich.  Not so good.  Lunchroom chick'n patty style.

This review is for delivery.  I saw the flyer for this place and saw that they had wings!  The prices seem to be reasonable. I was curious about it, so I had them deliver it to me, but they had a credit card minimum so I also had a salad.  The wings were the right spiciness where it wasn't so numbing where you can't taste the tang and the flavor.  My salad was pretty good, too.  I am very interested in getting pizza from here and testing it out as well.  Hmm...the next time I have a pizza craving this will be the place I order from.

Solid fast-food alternative, but the service seemed disorganized or maybe they were just understaffed that day.  Maybe they actually cook their food fresh?  I guess that's a plus.  Still, I was expecting something a bit slower than McDonald's but a heckuvalot faster than a regular sit-down place.

At least part of my wait had to do with the indecisive lady before me, so I tried to be forgiving, but then after her order was served, I found myself waiting and waiting and waiting.

Also weird: "No Country for Old Men" playing on the flat screens.  It's nice to not have house music blaring at me, but a bleak, violent crime drama?  Doesn't exactly help your burger go down.

It's too cold to go out side so I decided Pizza, Why not.
We call and order a Margarita 'za and some south west egg rolls.
They took a little while but considering the weather we were grateful anyone would go out side to bring our lazy asses food....

The pizza it self was good,
they cut it into Chicago squares
They had a good amount of each component (tomato, sauce, cheese, basil)
But I wish the sauce was less sweet...
The southwest egg rolls were good I liked the spicy mayo.

but the thing that earned the extra star was service. The phone people were soo nice! I called when  the pie was running late and hung up because they were knocking on my door.. and lo and behold they called me back, cause they missed my call and asked me how everything was! COOL  People who care!
SO 4 stars for them
3 for the food
and extra one for service!!

I've been waiting for this place to open for a year now, and it's great! The pizza burger is really tasty, charred patty with pepperoni, mozzarella, a sweet pizza sauce, and a zippy mayo to hold it together.

The fries are out of this world. I don't think they could get much tastier. Very well seasoned and crisp. The pizza crust is crackery, but still light. The sauce is less paste, and more tomatoes. It's sweet and spicy. I had a slice of the Hawaiian. Yummy.

The decor is really cool, with menus on TV screens and some cool fans overhead. But the best thing about the Milwood is the service! The guy behind the counter refilled my soda from the fountain for me, and took the trash from the table. Really friendly people. I'll be here a lot.

I guess when you can't come up with a name for your restaurant you just join half of the name of each of the streets that intersect near your restaurant and bam you have one.

I do have to give them credit though, its pretty cheap and the menu selection ain't half bad.  The mini burgers were good but would've better if they were cooked a little longer. The fries were good, but I was a bit disappointed.

One yelper was raving about the fries, so I guess I got my hopes up.  My hubby had the chicken sandwich....I had a little of that too and I thought it was way better than my mini burgers.  I would like to try their broccoli salad though......that sounded yummy.  I give them three stars now, but I'm definitely willing to try some other things on the menu.

I was chilling across the street at one of my favorite hangouts, Davenport's, when I got hungry. I was with the fella and my brother, and we all decided some food was in order. Davenport's doesn serve food, but they graciously offered to let us order some food and eat it there and suggested Milwood.

I have been back there twice since. The burgers are good and thick, the fries are seasoned and crispy, the salads are fresh and crunchy, and there are a few unique items on the menu which make it a good stop if you want traditional burger fare or if you want something a little healthier or unique.

And with 3 stars I really do mean A-OK, after two visits. It's new. It's also basically across the street, so I'll have to revisit this if/when they tweak it a bit.

The veggie burger was good, a little ketchupy, and they cut it in half for you, so really messy (stuff falls out). Fries were worthy of chomping one at a time.

Pizza was not so hot. I think this is the second time I've complained about value (price vs. quality), first was Moto... anyway: $6.49 for a slice of pizza and a small pellegrino. This thing really does taste like frozen pizza.

Also, I'm still starving. AHHHHHHHHHH!

We all get cravings sometimes.  Chicago's seemingly sub-arctic winter temperatures can prove to be an impediment to fulfilling those cravings.  That's when we can turn to Grub Hub--which is precisely what I did when I had a craving for good ol' American burgers and fries.  The reviews there lead me to order from Milwood.

I ended up getting the Southwestern burger--I like trying new twists on old favorites--with a side order of seasoned fries.  This was an oversight since the burger already comes with seasoned fries.  And while they were zesty and tasty, I didn't really need to consume that many fried potatoes.

The burger, a half pound of Angus beef with lettuce, tomato, onions, pepperjack cheese, smothered in guacamole and chipotle mayo, was a mess.  I felt like Hasslehoff on the kitchen floor with the way stuff was dropping out from between the buns.  While it was certainly a palatable mess, the sheer amount of condiment overpowered the other flavors of the burger.  When I order a burger, I want to be able to taste the burger.

However, while that deterred from my overall enjoyment of the meal, the flavor of the fries and those I could discern from the burger are enough to encourage me to give Milwood another shot.  Though I'll probably go with the more simple, classic cheeseburger next time.

Got apps and burgers here last night a la Grubhub. The Southwestern egg rolls are delicious and perfectly portioned. Yah for Milwood understanding that 5 pieces aren't a splitable order for two people!!! I enjoyed my Milwood burger at first bite. The burger maintained shape and consistency with the delivery. The burger was delicious and satisfying. I'll definitely try them again for burger needs.

They may have a good burger and fries, and by the looks of the reviews, they do.  However, the pizza was really. not. good.  I'm giving them an extra star b/c, well again, it's pizza, but this is a pizza I won't be ordering again.  The crust was really dry and crackery and pretty much lacked any character or flavor whatsoever.  The Cheese was definitely Meh made worse by it not being properly cooked, and the (clearly canned) ingredients even more Meh.  The Milwood is a serious miss on he pizza front, soz.

Checked this place out last night with my boyfriend. Yum. I got the Milwood burger which is basically a cheeseburger with all the trimmings plus mayo. I ordered it medium rare and that's exactly how it came. Most places won't let you order rarer than a medium due to poor quality of beef, but not this place so they must be using good quality cow! My burger was also pretty huge, I had trouble fitting it in my mouth to take a bite. Definitely got my money's worth of meat. The seasoned fries that came with my burger were also excellent.

My boyfriend had a slice of sausage pizza and a slice of milwood pizza which was basically a supreme. The pizza was ok, nothing to write home about. It also tasted and looked like it had been sitting out for quite awhile. Maybe this will improve if they get more busy. Even fresh though it still probably wouldn't be more than OK. The price for a slice was pretty cheap and includes a free drink so that is a plus about it.

I really liked the feel of this place and I loved their vertical LCD TV menu displays. There was definitely more on their menu I wanted to try so I think we'll be back for sure. It's also a super huge plus that they are open late. Till 2am and 3am Fri and Sat. It's also nice for me that they are on the south side of Milwaukee in wicker park. Puts them a lot closer to my apartment as opposed to spots closer to Milwaukee and North.

I swung in Milwood last night on my way home from work.  My roommate not surprisingly recommended the burgers, as he is a burger junkie, so I went with a Milwood burger.  It came just as ordered it and it was quickly delivered to my table by the owner himself.  The burger was hot, juicy and fresh on a quality bun and the seasoned fries were fresh and tasty too.  The food was top-notch and the staff courteous and friendly.  I even hung around and chatted for a few minutes with them after I was done eating.  The food was definitely a good value and the service well beyond what you'll find at most places of this type.  A solid addition to the neighborhood and a must try.

Gross.

Ordered pizza for delivery. Stale crust. The sauce tasted odd. Canned mushrooms. Tossed most of it out.

Chicago winter makes me not want to cook, so I end up ordering delivery a fair amount. I figured I would check out Grub Hub since I hadn't looked at it in awhile. I remembered wanting to try Milwood, so Z and I gave it a shot. The roasted garlic chicken pizza was great! We ordered the large size so we'd have leftovers and wow, we had a number of meals out of this pizza. We also ordered the guacamole and it was fairly disappointing. I would not order it again. Thankfully the pizza being so great made up for that fact. I'll have to go here in person sometime...when it's not icy.

This take-out joint, whose signage touts "pizza burgers & more," just opened today.  So, of course, I ordered a bbq bacon burger w/fries ($6.79) and a slice of pizza w/free soda ($3.79).  The food arrived within 15 min, but the burger was cooked to a lifeless gray and accidentally slathered in guacamole, instead of bbq sauce.  The pizza had a thin, cracker crust with unremarkable sauce/cheese.

On the plus side, their menu, lit up on four LCD screens, had a wide array of starters, flatbreads, sandwiches and pizzas.  The 30-seater dining room gave off a living room vibe with its three add'l LCDs showing music videos and sports below conversation volume.  good.

I'll come back to try the "& more" while they work out the kinks of being  a new restaurant.

Milwood, without a doubt, has some of the nicest servers I've ever met. The food is very good and filling; I've gotten the burgers, which have been delicious, and a chips and guac appetizer, also quite tasty. I like my burgers, and this place definitely stands up on it's own. It's surprisingly inexpensive for the quality food you get, and definitely worth checking out. And there menus are displayed on what seems to be the most absurd use of plasma televisions I've ever seen.
