this is a good place for quick waxes (Hilary or Jessika are great) -- you can literally walk in and walk out for those Emergencies that crop up every once in a while in a girl's life. good for haircuts too. husband gets his hair cut here every month (Fiona is awesome, she listens to me as well as to him, maybe to me a little more), and this is a guy who previously would not step foot into an establishment without a barber's pole. I've been trying them for haircuts, but I like to give a place a good year before I commit... have had too many haircut heartbreaks.... the only slight downside is that it's always crazy and packed and really loud. it's not a cushy salon, but it's a great neighborhood place.

I have had my eyebrows done twice here by two different ladies, and they came out just fine both times.  The salon has a funky, fun yet classy feel to it.  I appreciate that they offer to cover up the redness with make-up after the waxing, but it also is somewhat of a sales push for their product line.

I bought a gift certificate to this place at my child's auction and have been so glad that I did.  It is a very happy place--all the girls who work there are so friendly /perky and not in an annoying way.  I feel disloyal by saying that I have had haircuts from 4 or 5 of the women and have really liked them all.  I am the type of person who when I need a haircut, I cannot make an appointment for next week--it has to be NOW.  In fact, I just donated my hair to Locks for Love and they did the cut--it was very modern, easy to style.  I have dyed my lashes and been waxed there as well--Love it and Love them.  So the good news is they are expanding into the store next to them.

Since my move to Marin I have been looking for a salon I could call my own. One where I feel pampered, can depend on loving my cut and color, and when I want to splurge on some extras like eyebrow waxing or dying my eyelashes or some new make up it is right there. This place is it!! I walked out of there with a smile on my face and a strut full of confidence that even Tyra Bank's "Miss Jay" would be proud of.

Erin did my cut and highlights- FABULOUS, and Ashley did my eyelashes and eyebrows. I told her to not take off too much- I hate the pencil thin look on me- and she said she didn't care for that look either and not to worry. Well she did the best eyebrow wax I have ever had! All the employees there were friendly and professional. All my services there have been excellent. Yes it was busy, but I did not feel like it was chaotic. Erin (hair stylist) also told me she would trim my new side-swept bangs free of charge. She is only at the Mill Valley location on Mondays and in the city's location the rest of the week, but I will make sure to stop in and see her on a Monday very soon. Oh- they have great (yes it is a bit pricey) make-up too!

I've been going here for various services for the past couple of years.  The place is consistently a zoo, people everywhere and a feeling of chaos.  

They must have about 10 people working at any given moment.  Some of the girls who work here give off a stuck up attitude and do not make me feel welcome or wanted, almost like high school.  They only time they pay any attention to me is when they want to push make up on me.  

I actually use their Make-up.  This salon has a private label line of mineral based cosmetics and I like them, still pricey but good product.  I also use their waxing services and find that both Jessica (co-owner) and Ana do an excellent job. They are both professional and give excellent customer service.

Let's talk about the quickest Brazilian, barely any pain...and I'm a wimp.  They are absolute pros, and you leave smooth as a baby's butt.  Plus eye brow waxes that leave you camera ready, seriously.  Plus, they are open to suggest.  Not like you really need to give any since they are so good.  This may sound like a fake review, but that's how great they are!

I have had 2 cuts here by Fiona. The first was great-probably the best hair cut for my curly hair. The second time, she assumed I wanted to have it blow dried straight so the cut didn't work for curls. I left the salon feeling disappointed, but I gave it a chance for a few days. It wasn't working so I called Fiona and let her know that the cut wasn't up to my expectations. I went in to get it fixed and the results were great.

I discovered Mivali Salon and Comestics on the KRON 4 website. They have this promotion on KRON 4 where you can buy a gift card for half off. I got two $50 gift cards for only $25 a piece. My sister and I went on Saturday morning and got to our appointments about 20 mins early. They called before we got there and said the woman (Jessika=Owner) that was to do my sister facial could not make it and that someone else (Hilary) would do it . My sister said Hilary was great and very kind. My sister will be coming back once a month for facials strictly from Hilary. I got a half lower leg waxing and eye brow wax. The girl who did it, I forgot her name, was very friendly and talk to me during the snatching of hair off my legs to distract me from the pain.  You have to make a appointment at this place because they are so busy. Fast service and friendly staff.

The staff was friendly and warm, but the services were mediocre.  The plus:  They were running late and made me wait over 1/2 an hour for my appointment, but to make up for it, they bought me Peet's coffee.   The con:  Although I asked them not to take too much off my eyebrows for my brow wax, they ignored my request and left me with uneven thin little lines that have taken months to grow back in.  So although I enjoyed the customer service, I wouldn't spend my money here again.

I've never been here for any services, but I use their AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser and love it!  A little goes a long way, and it leaves my face feeling clean and not dry at all.  My sister has had her hair highlighted and cut here, and thought they did a great job.

Update 9/20/06:
I had my hair highlighted and cut by Alicia last week, and she did a great job!  The highlights are super thin and natural looking, and she gave my hair more contrast than it had before.  I also love the cut, though try as I might I can't get it styled how she did it.  I plan on going back there to buy the product she used on me...and for my future hair cuts and highlights.  Highly recommended!

Update 4/21/08:
So it's now been a while, and while I no longer highlight my hair, I am still coming to see Alicia for haircuts.  It was nothing against her with the highlighting, I just decided that it was too much upkeep and more money than I could afford to spend.  So the highlights she had given me grew out nicely, and she still gives my hair fabulous cuts!  I feel bad that I only go see her about every six months, but I'm a girl who likes to space out her haircuts as much as possible.  I've also gotten some eyebrow and bikini waxing here, and while I've had a different person every time, they've all done a great job.

If you want your hair done, go to Deb.  She's amazing!    She's like a magician.  It's like plastic surgery, I swear.  I go to her and have several friends that do and we all love her work.- some get extensions from her-human hair and synthetic- she's incredible.  I don't trust anyone with my hair usually and am so glad to have found her.

Wonderful!!  We arrived with 13 people for my wedding and we left looking AMAZING!!!  Page did a beautiful job on my hair and Deb did a beautiful job with my makeup.  They were attentive and easy to work with and accomodating all of us for make up and hair!!
