It's one of those bars that you find annoying when people you know want to go there, but once you get there you have a great time. It's a little douchy, but it's not bad. Great place to throw darts and pick up a sorority girl. But not the upscale ones. The ones that will take Daddy's money, but not be thrilled about it, and simultaniously spend it on their friends. God, I miss college . . .

When I was 15 I bought a Milo Butterfinger's shirt from Goodwill. Six years later I realized that it was actually a bar that is still open. I went to Dallas from Austin for Christmas and decided to stop by to see what it was like, turns out its pretty cool. As I have mentioned in previous posts, it blows my mind any time I find a place that lets me smoke indoors (Automatic 3 stars.) The fourth star is because of the $7 pitchers of Coors, but other than that I'd say this place is utterly unremarkable.

This is another icon on Greenville Avenue; having been there since the early seventies.  One of their claims to fame was having a scene of Oliver Stone's "Born on the Fourth of July" filmed there.

This is a traditional, sports, pool, bar that has a large audience of frat-boys (and a smattering of girls) from SMU, as well as a lot of long-time regulars.

Some of the bar-staff are terrific....long-time employees that really know you if you are a regular.

Some of the others are somewhat stiff and flippant.

In general, don't go here if you are looking for the hipster Dallas crowd, they are in the Uptown area.  

But, if you are looking to watch one of the 25 tubes showing some sports action, wanting a good burger with your favorite brew or libation, head on down to Milo's.

Another one of my top 5 favorites.  It's not about what you do, what you're wearing, or who you know.  It's pitchers of beer, foosball, and maybe some Golden Tee.  Coming here is like being let out for recess.

A good relaxing place to go and have a few pitchers.  Beers are cheap and the wait staff is attentive enough to keep everything flowing.  A hole in the wall and you always run into someone you know.  It's a great place for get togethers.  Low key, cheap drinks, enough seating and a few pool tables to keep you occupied.

This is a great bar for those who like bar games.  We often go to Milo's for long periods of time playing things like Silver Strike Bowling or Big Buck Hunter.  The food is decent and if I recall the beers are not expensive.  We drink pitchers and lots of them.  Not a good place to pick people up, definitely more of a place to hang out with a group of friends.  I enjoy it.
