Yup, the man-mall. They've got everything from food dehydrators to disposable gloves that go up to your armpits. Camping, hunting, farming, cooking, pet supplies, - they got it. They've got some pretty good looking shoes at a great price. Great place to go for a 'shopping date', something for everyone.

One of the few places I can go wearing my chicken manure covered muck books and not get odd looks. I asked for diatomaceous earth once, and the lad helping me scoured the shelves until we found it. Then they brought it to the front of the store for me on a dolly. The poultry feed is competitively prices and sometimes goes on sale. It is very easy to spend way more than you had anticipated, especially when you bring your husband and send him off to get ONE item then have to track him down an hour later finding the cart full of candy corn, cherry slices, and miscellaneous truck parts. Seasonal goods are plentiful and go on sale at the end of the season with big discounts. Look for the yellow tags, they're clearance! I was impressed with their garden section. They had lots of vegetable plants and seeds. Location in south Rochester takes me a while to get to. If they had a north store I would be there constantly. I wouldn't plan on buying much clothing unless you're buying for a male biker, farmer, or a woman that enjoys flower or cat sweatshirts with matching elastic waisted sweat pants. I used to HATE going to this store as a child. Since moving to the country, I've learned to love it. The saying at my house is "If you can't get it at Fleet Farm, you don't need it!"

This review is for the new Fleet Farm off Hwy 63. I never liked the old one, I could always smell animal feed and got nauseated by it. BUT the new Fleet Farm is awesome. I just finished X-Mas shopping and got 80% of it done at Fleet Farm. I like their selection better than Target and it does get crowded like Wal-Mart-but their is more than enough room for everyone to move about.
I like their winter apparel selection-durable, nice price-looks good and warm(this is Minnesota). They have quite a furniture selection, plus a really good power tools selection-better price on that stuff than Lowe's, I but most of my pup's toys and treats here also-American made, gives me piece of mind there, and he loves it. Did I mention the candy selection(oh, boy!) everything from their unique brands to Lindt chocolates.
They also have fair prices on tires, but I am kind sold on the place I've always gone too. I highly recommend this store to ANYONE-you'd be surprised what you come out with! Friendly staff and you get a ticket with 4 cents off a gallon of gas at their gast station. Can't lose folks! -

Mills Fleet Farm can best be described as a Walmart for farmers and ranchers. While most of its products are applicable to anyone, it additionally sells items that one could not find in a normal mass retailer, such as saddles.
When one drives-up, one is immediately struck that by the fact that almost every patron drives a truck. To be in a car is to be out of place. The ambiance is like that of an older Walmart in need of renovation. Its selection of items is also quite decent. I would personally recommend it over another mass retailer for outdoor activity equipment and garden items. I am always surprised by what I can find there and nowhere else in town. Electronic connectors, mason jar lifters and U of Wisconsin hybrid tomatoes are just some of the eclectic items I have purchased at Mills for prices that put other retailers to shame. I can also recommend some clothing items. Though it is hardly what one could consider fashionable, if you want a pair of rubber boots with steel toes that will last 25 years at least, this is your store. All of this makes perfect sense as they support a farming community that cares about reliability, durability and price over everything else.
Of there may categories of products on sale, they do not carry perishable foods and hand guns. The non-perishable products (for humans) are also limited in quantity. You might be able to live exclusively on what they sell, but you will long for death within the first week. Also, expect to get lost on your first visit. It's just that big.
Unlike Walmart, there are always sufficient cashiers to ring-up your purchase in a timely manner. They are usually young, pleasant and efficient. One is also given a 4 cents off per gallon coupon redeemable at the Mills Fleet Farm gas station, making it usually cheapest gasoline in town.
Due to its position as the most Southern large retail location in town, I do not often visit. But when I do, it's for a purpose and I always end-up bringing more home than I thought I would. -

Mills Fleet Farm is one of my most favorite stores.
The chain was actually started in the mid 1950's to sell farm supplies and the like, but has become much more than a farm store to many people.
Fleet Farm sells a large variety of stuff, most at below Wal-Mart prices, too!
Farm equipment aside, Fleet Farm has good prices and a ridiculously large selection of home improvement items, clothing (jeans especally), automotive products, hunting and camping gear, and a (surprisingly good) housewares department.
They also have a snacks/magazine department and an electronics department, which are mostly not worth mentioning It should be noted that they have a better selection of TV antennas and mounting hardware than any other local chain.
During the Christmas season, the store always has a large selection of toys in their annual Toyland department. What makes their selection unique is that they have more non-electronic toys than most other retailers (such as Wal-Mart and Target).
The Fleet Farm gas station usually sells gas for two or three cents lower the lowest chain price (which is usually Kwik Trip).
Note: Most of this review is based upon old Fleet Farm. I've been in the new one, but haven't really explored the place yet.Listed in: Born to Shop

We love this place. The clothes are nice and warm and we love that you can find local and U.S.A. made items here. You can find many different items here and the prices are great! Lots of neat and unique automobile items and the boots are great. We shop here whenever we visit Rochester.
