I came here for a family function. I did not realize how huge this place is. We had a party of 40 people and had a private room upstairs. The room had a nice huge Christmas tree and 2 fire places. The window was decorated with a wreath and Christmas lights. Not tacky, but very nice.

First came the Cinnamon rolls for the table. WOW. They had me at Cinnamon roll. I cannot believe they served me dessert first. I am impressed. JK.

We had our typical fruit plate, house salad, and the main was Pot Roast for me and the Wife had the pork. I really enjoyed the pot roast, felt as though I stepped back in time and went to a family house for some good old pot roast. Just great! The pork dish was ok.

The dessert was a layered cake, i was hoping on some homemade cheesecake everyone keeps raving about in this place. The cake was good.

This girl Maria was wonderful and took care of everything. I think we will be considering this place in the future for family function or whatever.

    I am a fan.

My mom took me here after my birthday (November 17th) but before Christmas.  When we first arrived on the freezing cold ay I was a little hesitant as too what exactly we were doing.  The outside looked very old.  We walked in and were seating by staff that were in very presentable uniforms.  When I saw the inside I was absolutely amazed.  It was so decked out in Christmas decorations.  What a magnificent sight.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Now I could see why my mom took me here.

We were surrounded by nothing but old people.  I thought it was kind of cute, but funny at the same time.  There were tables full of all these (what looked like to be) senior groups that had been n an organized lunch trip.  Since the lunch was Prix fixe I guess it was a perfect opportunity for them.  My meal came with a sample (an appetizer pretty much) in which I got a French onion soup, a salad, a dessert, and a meal of course.  For the meal I believe I had some sort of chicken marshal possibly.  It was smothered in gravy, and with it I got mashed potatoes and a vegetable.  Everything I remember eating was absolutely delightful and delicious.  For dessert I had the cheesecake, again another hit.  This is one place I definitely recommend to come to during the holidays.  The warm fireplace and the decorations will make your heart melt (along with the tasty food).

After we ate my mom wanted to visit the little shops on the premises.  Oh gosh, I was nervous.  Anytime the word "Christmas" and "shops" comes out of my mom's moth at the same time, I usually have something to worry about.  We visited about 3 or 4 shops.  They were absolutely darling just like the inside of the restaurants. The Christmas shops were so classy and tastefully decorated, while the other shop filled with handmade soaps, blankets, Irish luck charms, and knick knacks was also a sight to see.

I hope my mom takes me back.  The first time I visited which was about a year ago I didn't have yelp, but had I, I would've filled this destination with many pictures.  You don't even feel like you're in NY when you come to the Milleridge in.  If you go on a cold enough day, I guarantee you'll feel like you're in the North Pole!

Regarding the "Historic village" with the sign over the entrance from the 1600's. Well there's nothing historic about that village. You see I built the stores in the early 70's. 1970's that is, not 1670's. That was an empty parking lot, It was the middle of winter the buildings were cinderblock and I was one of the carpenters that put all the roofs and siding on. I can still remember the chef coming out and bringing all the  guys hot coffee and pastrys in the morning.
Anyway the food, haven't been here in 30 years, now I remember why. You walk in the carpet at the entrance is old and stained. I understand wanting to keep things looking original but you could clean the carpets!!
Took my girlfriends parents there for an 80th birthday. They loved it. The special seafood menu had a free drink, app, salad, entree, desert, coffe and desert wine all included. Place was filled with old people. The food was OK but it wasn't like a restarunt meal, and then it hit me, a Diner!. The food, the menu, the non english speaking wait staff, this place became a Diner, right down to the fake mashed potatoes. This used to be an upscale place to eat. Not sure what happneded to it but if they keep serving Diner food, They''re going to run out of customers. Final words, great Diner food at a low price, Fine dining, I don't think so.

One of my favorite restaurants. I usually go for the seasonal menu. They have Mardi Gras, March Madness(ireland), Summer Seafood Festival, and Oktoberfest. The menu usually costs about $25(lunch). The liquor alone covers the cost. If your looking for a 5 star restaurant - this is not it. But the food taste good and you will leave full. Plus the village is enjoyable.

The food is horrible. Went with a group of about 20 (family and friends - various ages) and the food was just not good.  The whole party was very disappointed.

I had the pastrami Reuben which was way overbooked and extremely salty. Others had the steak and it was not cooked to order. The turkey club was I've club and the bacon undercooked.

Even the beer and wine was not good. The beer was flat (Stella draught).

    Will not recommend this place

Party of 6 on a Sat night.....let me see where do I begin?

After many years of not coming here, I thought it would be nice to take my parents here for their anniversary (as we did when I was younger).   I have found that since then the prices have gone up & was overpriced; the food quality was a major disappointment as well.  What was suppose to be perceived as having a good reputation it def does not stand up to it anymore.

What restaurant on a Saturday night, during the holiday season runs out of waldorf salad, has no pomegranate martinis & serves french onion soup (COLD) with a sugar spoon??  A few people in my party ordered the melons/berries only to get it and there were only melons on the plate!  Finally, my Mother & I both ordered the steak and when we got it, it was 3 thin sliced pieces of what looked  like roast beef.....(and they have the audacity to charge $50 for that)!

Coming here & experiencing this had definitely put a terrible mental note in my head as to NEVER eat here again!!!  The only enjoyable thing out of this experience was the little village with the shops.

    Think before eating here...............

I've only been here for brunch and in the beginning, the service was great, food is pretty good and I got a nice buzz from the bloody mary...until I went back a week ago.
My mom took me here to celebrate my last semester of school, we were seated at a booth and we got our drinks and our food was ordered. Then we waited, and waited and waited and waited. You probably got annoyed when you read the same statement over and over, well same here. We got our food ONE HOUR LATER! Our food meaning our appetizers and our entree. I wasn't happy. Then we got our dessert, I got a chocolate cream cake which tasted old. Then the check, that took about 20 minutes then when we looked at our check, it was priced wrong! When I asked the waitress why it's 2 dollars more expensive, she had the nerve to say "Oh! The tax is included." Uh, no! the tax is written in the bottom!! I was not happy. Fixing the check took another 30 minutes. I was trying to find our original waiter who served us, he was nowhere to be seen. After that experience, I do not want to go back.

If you look up the word "waspy" in a dictionary, you will see a picture of Milleridge Inn next to it. It cannot get any more waspy than this. The mean age of dinner patrons is close to 55.

It is a family tradition in my in-laws' house to go to MI the day after Xmas. It is good for us because we dread eating the super-bland turkey my mother-in-law makes. They invite their friends and we all go to MI, shop at the little stores and then eat at the restaurant. The stores are cute. I can see why old people swarm this place like a hot game of bingo. The stores are tchotchke galore. I can find all the tree ornaments that will make my tree look like it was decorated by a 80 year old German woman from North shore. Did I say waspy?

As much as I don't look like or have the proper lineage to be a wasp, I fit right in with the rest of my waspy family. My partner is from around this area and they have been coming to the MI for many years. Shopping here is an experience. Fun candy, collectibles, and trinkets.

Let's talk about the food now. This is the blandest food, besides my mother-in-law's cooking. The menu has traditional items like sea food pot pie, stuffed chicken breast, and lamb shank. There is also salmon and stuffed sole. Nothing is spectacular. Just plain bland traditional food. My in-laws love it. My mother-in-law can't even handle the sight of a chili pepper, let alone taste one. No wonder she loves this food.

Now, I cannot let my fiery palate influence my review. I must review accordingly. This food is great if you like traditional bland food. I mean, I ate all of my lamb. My partner liked his sea food pot pie. The popovers are the best part... hot, flaky, and served with butter medallions imprinted with the MI logo. Classy! Although, we had to ask three times to get any of them.

Service was average. We had to ask multiple times for water refills, and popovers. After the third time, our waitress let out a sigh and acted as if we are bothering her. Um, I understand that kind of attitude (and I am cool with it) if I am at a divey hole-in-the-wall ethnic restaurant, but this is Milleridge Inn. You are charging me $38 for a simple lamb shank that was as bland as my mother-in-law's cooking (can you tell I love her food?)... I expect a little better service.

Overall, we spent a fortune for some bland unimpressive food. I am used to eating much better food for a lot less and I didn't think the food is worthy of the exorbitant prices. Their wine selection is limited.

Will I go again? As if I have a choice! You don't want to make my mother-in-law upset. Not after she buys me all those gifts for Xmas. So... grin and bear!

P.S. I used the word "waspy" according to the dictionary's definition: a member of the dominant and the most privileged class of people in the United States. My in-laws fit the other definition too: white Anglo-Saxan protestants.
No need to go ballistic on me.

Just came back from an amazing evening at Milleridge. I was in attendance for my friend's wedding, and the place was so nice and cozy. The cocktail hour was fantastic, with various finger foods and other treats like lobster tails, crabs, shrimp, chicken, kabobs (chicken and beef),turkey and corn beef. The bar had all the usual suspects to get me ready for the dance floor later.

The wedding room was great, nicely set tables, good dj, and again more food and drinks. We had a delicious crepe florentine, then a garden salad, followed by a great surf and turf. The steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare is how I like it) and the lobster was great, I like to drench it in butter and lemon. Finally, I had a great cake, that was moist and delicious.

To burn off some calories, I then proceeded to the dance floor. I am quite the dancer (when I fill up on a few heinekens, a half dozen rum and cokes, and one cranberry and vodka). So I grabbed the sober wife (well one of us had to be the designated driver) and we danced, and danced, and danced some more. Then at midnight, the great evening came to an end.

If you are looking for a place to celebrate on your wedding day, or if you just want to dine out in Jericho,NY (because they also have a regular restaurant), then check Milleridge out. Christmas time they really go all out according to some locals who know the place well.

Cute little place in Long Island. Lots of weddings are held here, but you can actually eat here when there aren't events going on.

I went here for a special occasion on a Sunday so you know what that means - brunch! I chose the ham & cheese omelet figuring it was a safe choice. They give you really filling bread to start, plus danishes (that's part of the brunch menu). You can choose an appetizer with your meal - I went with the regular salad. I also got a mimosa - mmm, delish.

The food itself was eh - nothing more than glorified diner food! The omelet was huge, but bland. The home fries were delicious but insanely greasy - so was the bacon and sausage - I couldn't even eat it, it was too filled with grease.

Proceeded to drink coffee, and had to take my dessert home. For that, I chose the cheesecake. When I indulged in that at home, I was surprised to see that it was too thick and tasted like it was from the local diner. I expected more than that!

The crowd here is definitely on the older side, which I don't mind too much. Other people were way too dressed up and acted as if they were the royal family of Jericho. Eh, not my scene, but the server we had really was a sweet gal. I guess that's a plus!

This place has been here for decades and I think most of the crowd that goes there were there on opening day...

The food is ok but the place really caters to an older crowd.  The exception to this is that around the Christmas holidays they deck the place out.  The restaurant is an old house and all the rooms have working fireplaces.  The holiday decorations and the fireplaces make the whole atmosphere.

Gets 2 stars for the holidays only.

For the past few years, our family has held Thanksgiving here as a tradition. The food is great, it's just kind of annoying to stand and wait on line for food with a crowd of pretentious North Shore assholes who think their shit doesn't stink. By the time the food gets on your plate, it's lukewarm. Other than that, the experience itself is always memorable. It's like going to a wedding for Thanksgiving, sans the dance floor and drunken family members. The cocktail station has lobster tails, crab claws and shrimp mmm. Much to my chagrin, they took away the cheese station this year :( The beef stroganoff was oh-so delish.

After you shamelessly stuff your face to the point where now you just can't move, you can attempt to burn off some calories by walking into the "village" with all the novelty stores. They decorate the place beautifully for the holidays. Looks like a great place to have a wedding, since I have already attended a prom here 10 years ago and it was nice from what I recall. This just may be a venue I seriously take into consideration when its time to really start planning my wedding.

I like this place for a long dragged out lunch meeting or one with friends.. when you have time to sit a while.

Go late and on Friday.. its a five course lunch. They tempt you with cinnamin bread.. and hot popovers from serving maids.. They have traditional menu items that are reminiscent of early American life... Rabbit, Pot Roast, Roast Turkey, etc...  They have an October fest with beer tastings.. but the best time to go is the Holiday Season with your favorite aunt or gran... they love this place.. To walk around the little mini village shops..etc.

My best friend got married here this past weekend, and the whole thing was nothing less than stellar.

Location: excellent location, easily accessible, HUGE parking lot in the front, which is always a plus. The garden area is kind of small, so that kind of limited the picture-taking, but the grass was well-manicured, and the flowers were gorgeous.

Facilities: Again, very good! Both the ceremony and the reception were held here. The ceremony was in one of the rooms adjacent to the reception area and dining room. The wedding was a decent size -- a little over 100 people, and everyone fit comfortably. The room had a wraparound patio and windows all around. Given the beautiful weather we had, sunlight was streaming in through the window and it was just gorgeous. The floors were a tad overwaxed and slippery, which is not that great when you are wearing 4 inch heels, but it was bearable with a little creative walking. The dining room was huge, had nice murals on the wall, and a large dance floor. The tables were set up really nice (they are oval-shaped instead of round). There was only one bathroom, but that wasn't a huge issue. There was also only one bar, so the bartender got overwhelmed at times, but it was manageable.

Service: The staff there was impeccable. They were incredibly attentive. In addition to the bridal party and wedding planner who was there, the Milleridge assigned a hostess and a server to assist us. Pam and Kelly were incredibly sweet and nice and attentive. They brought us food when we needed it, water, etc. They helped bustle my friend's dress, went over things with us, etc. Incredibly professional and cordial!

Food: This was probably the highlight of the day. As guests arrived (it was a morning wedding), they got mini muffins, pastries, and coffee and teas. After the ceremony, during the cocktail hour, there was an open bar (with top-shelf liquor), passed hors d'oeuvres (with amazing treats like succulent LAMB CHOPS!! nom nom nom), and also a few buffet-style stations set up with other finger foods (this included shrimp cocktail and lobster tails!!!). My friend decided on a buffet, and the food did not disappoint. She had a 5-page menu to choose options from, and her tasting left her with enough food for a week! The food was excellent, and there was an abundance of it! For dessert, in addition to the wedding cake, there was a dessert buffet that included a sundae station, made-to-order crepes, irish coffees, etc. Seriously, the best food I have ever had at any wedding!

I am not sure about the pricing, because I am sure it varies according to the wedding, but my friend paid what I would deem reasonable and fair for what she got. Her price per person was about $110, but that was because they got the lobster in the buffet. Without lobster, I believe the price drops to $85 per person.

I am so happy that the Milleridge gave my best friend the wedding of her dreams. Not a thing went wrong all day, and that would make any bride happy!! I wish I lived in Long Island so that I could get married there lol

I have a confession to make. I'm a guy. And I like this place.

I know. Milleridge is a place where little old ladies get together for lunch. It's tacky and a bit worn down. But I like this place. The food is glorified diner food. But I like this place. George Washington ate here or slept here or lived here or is buried in the pantry here or something. But I like this place. The service is one step up from abysmal. But I like this place.

You can get a good but not great meal here in relatively relaxing surroundings. They do have an extensive menu of acceptable dishes. Most of their clientele probably wears one of those "I fell down and I can't get up" buttons. But I like this place.

    I'm just not sure why.

This venerable old colonial period inn is a lovely place for a fancy lunch or dinner. They have a reasonably priced menu, and includes a soup, salad, entree and desert and coffee. Sadly, the food is not always perfectly prepared. I have brought friends there who ordered seafood dishes which were embarrasingly dry and overcooked.

One nice touch that they do regularly is bring you freshly baked bread from their own 'village' bakery, and freshly baked pop overs which they offer to you while you eat.

They have a collection of shops like a bakery, general store, confectionary with homemade ice cream and candies, an Irish shop and more on the property. It's quite charming.

Some meals I have ordered which are usually very good are the prime rib, the lamb shank, the Yankee pot roast, the Virginia ham and chicken dishes. A disappointment has been the turkey platter with dry turkey meat and bread stuffing that tastes an awful lot like Stovetop stuffing and salmon dishes.

I have also attended private parties there too and usually have a wonderful time. It is a very reasonable venue for a bridal or baby shower, baptism, etc. They usually do an excellent job at these private parties. Their cakes are usually outstanding at these private parties.

Milleridge Inn is a great place for a special occassion.

I have been coming here since I was a child. I have found that in recent years, prices have gone up and food quality has gone down a bit, but the experience of eating here is well worth the price for a special night out.

I recommend sticking with simple items for your entree such as roast chicken. I find that anything that's a little more involved to make is dissapointing, such as the quiche I ordered for brunch recently.

The popovers provided before the meal are probably the best I've ever tasted. If you visit during the Christmas season, I highly recommend the candycane ice cream for dessert!

The atmosphere is what makes Milleridge so unique. The restaurant is housed in a colonial building, complete with paintings of George Washington and a fire place near the entryway. Waitresses and buswomen are dressed in period dresses. There are carolers during December and January and a barbershop quartette that performs in the village during the summer. The restaurant is completely decked out for Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.

This is a great place for family outtings. There are always large groups with children here. It is a popular destination for the above sixty crowd as well.

I recommend visiting during a time when the village is open so you have time to check out the bakery, ice cream parlor, florist and other quaint shops offering colonial and Victorian inspired gifts, kitchen supplies and knick knacks.

There's something special about the Milleridge Inn and it's tough to pinpoint.  Maybe it's the rustic feel of sitting in a grand room with a fireplace, even when it isn't winter -- or the fact that George Washington stayed at the Inn during colonial times.  Perhaps it's the themed menu that changes nightly, or that you can choose every single course from your appetizer to your dessert.

One of the best pieces of filet mignon I've ever had was at the Milleridge.  I've also had some mixed experiences, hence the 3-star review.

    Some things to note:

    - The popovers that are hand delivered are over-buttery and quite filling
    - Ask for cinnamon or raisin bread, which you can receive upon request at no additional charge -- it's fresh baked on premises
    - After dinner, stroll the Milleridge Village and check out the curio shops for a taste of history
    - If you go during Xmas time, you might be lucky enough to be serenaded by carolers; of course, if that's not your thing then you might want to avoid it
    - Later in the evenings, a pianist performs and should not be missed

Reservations are definitely suggested, especially if you do go on the later side.  Be aware that they raise their prices during the Holidays and every other holiday often has a special menu, but could also mean a long wait.

This is a landmark restaurant and site on Long Island where weddings take place and history is made night after night.  If you're looking for a filling meal for a decent price, this is well worth a visit.

Sunday Brunch.  Great value for money.  Danishes and bread a the table.  An appetizer, main, dessert, coffee, choice of mimosa & bloody mary for $18-$26 per person.  For the main I had the bbq chicken/spare ribs and it came with fries, beans, corn bread, and cole slaw.  It was ridiculously good and the portions were generous (1/4 chicken)  We were stuffed - the bread pudding was great.  The service was fantastic from the moment you walk in.  I love the old American charm and the little village shops - jam shop, general store, florist.
Looking forward to our next trip there.

We had our wedding there in 2008 and it was wonderful.  The food, service and presentation was impeccable.  Let's just say, that if I had to plan a wedding again in Long Island (which I hope I don't) it would be there.

The only, absolutely only, less than perfect things were the bathroom is not well kept unless you reminded the host to remind the matron and the cake tastes like cardboard.  We read a review about the cake and brought in our own from Bake My Cake in Harlem.  Totally worth it.

The food here can almost always be described in one word: bland. The flavor and preparation are off, but everyone's mom seems to love the place anyway. The shrimp cocktail and mashed potatoes aren't bad, but I've never had an entree I could describe as good, both their chicken and steak are tasteless.

Most things from their bread and jam shop are delicious though. Especially the cinnamon bread, which you get with your meal. The popovers that are roaming around the dining room in baskets are also good. You can get all this in the bakery, as well as cookies and cakes. The only item I would avoid is the frosted apple pie (it sounds wonderful but tastes terrible).

The place gets three stars instead of two because of the adorable village they have. A handful of unique shops in a beautiful setting, with carriages and a gazebo in the center. The non-food items in the shops can be over-priced, but there is a candy store, an ice cream parlor, and of course the bakery to make up for that.

The whole establishment is really just nice to look at and be in. Its been around for so long, and such care has gone into maintaining the details, I don't mind going even though dinner is always disappointing.
