First place on the list for bike-hunt extravaganza!! I wanted a bike. It was time. I moved up to the Bay Area from Los Angeles. People LOVE riding bikes up here, and I got the bicycle fever. Well, it's been a long time, and the folks at Cycleworks were helpful, but I felt that they connected much better with experienced riders. They tried to sell me on a bike I liked...more for the brand than the style. I test rode it, which was sweet, and much appreciated. I tried it in the women's style. I tried to explain what I liked...disliked. It didn't work. The bike varieties were awesome, the staff was really nice, but I just wasn't ready for the awesomeness of this quite experienced shop.

When I saw an ad for the Electra Amsterdam, I knew that I had to have it, and when I saw the real thing in the window at Mill Valley Cycleworks, I had to go in and at least look at it, but I didn't intend to buy the bike right then and there... That all changed when a very nice and enthusiastic salesperson came over to help me... He explained how much he loved his bike (which happened to be the one I was looking at), and then sent me off on a display model to see how I liked riding the bike... I returned to the store and bought that cute little sucker immediately.  It only took them an hour to put the bike together, and I was happy with the whole experience.

An excellent, indepedently owned neighborhood bike shop that carries a full range of bikes and gear, from high-end custom to kid's trikes.  Friendly customer service w/o the high-pressure sales tactics used by souless corporate owned chain store sales people.  Cycleworks' even does custom bike fitting and will serve you chilled, filtered water. ( :  Vegan owned, animal loving and fur free.

Got my first bike helmet here. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful and gave me a discount because they didn't have much in stock in my size (women's fit). And they threw in a free water bottle.

Lots of fun, funky bike clothes, nice bikes and accessories, and very knowledgeable staff too. A nice place to check out while waiting for your table at Joe's.

My favorite bike shop in Marin. You can go in and not only choose from the most awesome display of bikes but the staff there will offer you excellent advice on how and where to ride especially around Mill Valley and Marin. They don't just sell you a bike they care about what you do with it when you leave the store. They are not in it just for the money they love bikes and biking.

mill valley cycleworks is the only place to get all of your biking needs met and if you go anywhere else, you are probably supporting some sort of crappy corporate regime.  instead,  be awesome and support the independent, vegan owned (yay!) mill valley cycleworks!

plus, they have realllllllllly cute store dogs!!!
