So I'll start my review off by saying that I experienced the Mill River Players more from a performing aspect than from a customer/diner.  That being said, my boyfriend, friend, momma, and several aunts, all came to the performance and had a fantastic time.  Mom and the aunties enjoyed dinner while the gentlemen folk opted just for cocktails.

I met the owners when I first arrived - congenial, friendly, and on point. They do run a tight ship there, and that was great.  Though it's been years since I've been onstage, I think this was one of the first places where I've ever attended or taken part in a show that ran completely, 100% on time.

The staff were also lovely. For my bit in the show I had my head shaved partway onstage. We had to finish in the back (in the dark) and I was pretty covered. One of the ladies serving drinks was nice enough to run back with a bottle of baby powder so that I could brush some of my mess off...and she told me I looked like Demi Moore, so I automatically liked her.

The backstage area is small but more than ample. The stage itself is basically like a hardwood dancefloor that runs right up to the seating area. Not a HUUuuge space but the layout of the tables is such that there's not really a bad seat in the house. Acoustics are also pretty good. And I loved the architecture and style of the building (I got to explore a little bit before going onstage). It's nothing elaborate really, but I was reminded of a kickass old farm house like the one that my great grandmother lived in during my childhood.

One thing I will note - there's a parking lot and some street parking, but the neighborhood around is a litttle less than nice. Be savvy when leaving.

All in all a great place to catch a show. And many many kudos to the fine folks here for hosting One Strong Voice's "I Am Not My Breasts." Hope to see them again soon - and to maybe update my review from the perspective of a dining in patron.
