Some of the best Italian food I've ever had in the Bay Area. Their teramasou is simply amazing. Kind of a long wait for their to-go pizzas, and the crust is not the best, but still a good pie overall. And the staff, though they can be a little surly at times, is overall a good and helpful lot. I'd highly recommend this place.
I grew up in Forest Hills NY and there was a great restaurant named Mario's. It expanded because it was so popular. This is it in Mill Valley! They've also expanded a few times and have almost the same food. I love it. Huge Veal Parmigiana, Huge portions on everything, what's not to like? Sometimes the service can be slow, oh well. The on premise owner is charming. This is the real deal.
i must be the only one here not smoking crack.
first of all, the restaurant is set up in a little strip mall - complete with grocery store, beauty salon next door, etc. but, the restaurant itself looked cute once we were standing outside the front doors. the windows were open and there were two tables outdoors. we opted for the outdoor seating since it was so warm tonight.
so we go to the only other table outside which happened to be next to mandy motormouth and gray haired gary and across from them was marcasite mary. mandy motormouth would not shut up the entire time we were there. not only was she sufferring from diarrhea of the mouth, everything she talked about had to do with people she knew, how much they were making, how large their homes were, blah, blah, blah. whatever....maybe i'll tune her out once i get my food.
so i order the penne alla puttanesca. and the bf orders the linguini with scallops. evidently, they ran out of salt in the kitchen. the pasta was quite bland, and no amount of kraft parmesan cheese and lowry's red pepper flakes could do anything to add another star to this review. so instead of being able to tune out mandy motormouth and friends, i became more irritated by them.
then comes the racial remark..."and then there are those nit-picky asians..." i shoot a sideways glance to the obviously melanin-challenged table next to us, and gray haired gary notices. he taps mandy motormouth on the shoulder and she looks at me and stops all conversation.
nice. great. fantastic.
then comes marcasite mary and her attempt to switch the conversation to fashion and jewelry..."oh you've never heard of marcasite?!? it's not silver. it's like diamonds - but darker." oh really? hmmmm...ladies...i don't think so. and don't get me started with the "wool pashmere."
i'm sorry to give milano only 1 star. but the food was bland, and the ambience this evening was terrible.
Place is really cute, has a great neighborhood feel. Food seemed okay on first time here, will have to try again. Heavy cream sauces. One person ordered something that wasn't what came out. Probably worth another shot.
I love this place for two reasons. First, the food is so good, it makes me want to punch someone, Second, this is the place my stepdad first tried to put the moves on my mom. I wanted to punch him at the time as well..
It's been twenty years since my first visit, and I have yet to be disappointed

A great neighborhood locals' place.
We've eaten here for over 20 years. The food is consistently good and you get real value for the money. The portions are large and generous.
It's a casual place and children are welcome.
When it's available, the Cioppino is a real treat. Another favorite that is not on the regular menu; but, they'll make it any time you ask, is Shrimp Caesar Salad. The salad alone is practically a meal for 2 people; especially with their yummy garlic and pizza bread. When you want a light meal, the Shrimp Caesar Salad is great for take out.
Tonight, we had the Rotisserie Chicken. It's never really hit the mark (we like the Chicken from Gira Polli in Mill Valley much better http://www.yelp.com/bi... ); however, the mash potato and asparagus side dishes were great.
At $15, the Veal Milanese is one of the most expensive things on the menu. It was good. It came with a simple pasta side dish.
The Lasagna Verdura was good.
The wines are reasonable as well.
All and all a very satisfying meal. We brought home the leftovers and will definitely be going back.
They take Visa and MC but not Amex.
4/26/08 Update - Had the Fried Calamari for the first time. It was really good.

I went with two girlfriends on Saturday night and the food was fantastic.... Everything was fresh and prepared very nice. The waiter was very nice... but had a hard time remembering who ordered what and had to come back three times to get our order straight... then when the food did come out he was giving each of us the other persons dish... No biggie, just a little rough around the edges. I would go back in an instant.

The food in this place is sooooooooooooooooo good. Yum. And they cater too. My first experience with this Italian restaurant was at a party. I had to ask the hostess where in the heck she got the food, knowing she did not fix it herself . . . . . Milano's has been one of my favorite places to eat ever since.
It is in a small strip mall type of place - the Cove. Go early because it's small and seats are in demand.
And if you are looking for a dining companion, I am almost always open to meeting friends here and sharing a meal . . . well, I take that back . . . I want my own, so there are leftovers to take home.

Milano's is outstanding Italian food. The atmosphere is warm and Italian. Milano's is a staple of Tiburon and Marin County. I highly recommend it. The pizza bread is awesome! Check this place out you won't be disappointed!
This Family run, old school Italian restaurant has great food at reasonable prices. We have had a few family dinners here and everyone always leaves stuffed and happy. The owner will often seat you and pick up if the wait staff is busy.
I have always had good experiences here, I have eaten here about 5 times, my only complaint is the lack of room at times. the tables can be placed a bit close together, but people are usually all smiles here. It must be the carbonara!
Some highlights are: Pizza Margarita, crisp and chewy crust and flavors galore. The pasta Carbonara (ask them to add grilled chicken) and the Gorgonzola penne, wow so rich. The house wine is very good and reasonable in a half or whole carafe.
