Six of us agreed that the food was good here. The waiter was attentive and prompt with anything we asked for. Seating on the lanai was pleasant -- a breeze kept the heat from being too oppressive.

I loved my fish taco -- why should fish tacos always have cole slaw and breaded fish? Here the fish is poached ahi and the other ingredients are lettuce, guacaomole, a bit of cheese, and salsa. I approve!

Epic fail.  They charge you for everything.  More tortillas?  $1.00.  Chips and salsa?  $2.00.  More salsa?  $0.50.  Canned jalapenos?  $0.75.  WTF?  Do I need to rent the bar stool as well?!  The seating is cramped as hell as well.

The food didn't even look that good.  We got some taquitos that were super dry and really gross looking.  We canceled the food order and just left.  Note to self:  Islands don't equal good mexican food.

Whenever we go to Paia, we always stop off at Milagros for lunch. They always have great food. Check out this Ahi Burro and Hamburger with bacon. This is a place that you must try when in Paia.

Thumbs up for outdoor seating, house margaritas for $5.50, and nice people.

The food was pretty good, but not outstanding, and can be a little spendy.  On the plus side, the portions are big enough for two meals.

Perfect for sipping margaritas outside; for dinner, you can do better elsewhere in Paia.

Went with a wonderful old friend to meet her wonderful old friend.  I not only adore this little city... which might make it out to be more than it is.

Had a lovely breakfast sitting on the deck, casually waxing about times past, and talking about progression of things, etc...  meaning this felt to be one of the most comfortable, calm, leisurely meals I had had in so long.

The patio is fantastic, they people are friendly, the service is awesome, the food is perfect bistro / diner / "someone's friend cooked this" type of place.  Obviously a community hot spot, it is on the corner of the busiest intersection and there is always a lot of wonderful stuff going on.

I really like this spot.... can't wait to go back.

Just consider this the local grill / diner / shack... and you will have a lovely time.  If you are expecting some high end dining experience, umm... you are in Maui.  Relax.

The guy on our parasailing excursion recommended Milagros to us when he heard we were headed toward Paia. My kids and I ordered a burger, fish tacos and a salmon salad. There was silence as we ate and the only audible sounds were the diners around us. Afterwards, I asked my son how he liked his burger he said, "it was the best burger I've ever had." Enough said.

I suggest dining on the patio and ordering any of their margaritas. I didn't have one but the gaggle of women sitting next to our table kept going on and on about the margaritas so I figured they were good. They wouldn't shut up.

The food is mediocre.  The service is okay.  I went at breakfast.  It was spicy but lacking many seasonings.  I had the hueveros rancheras and was bland.  The coffee is good and the location is great to people watch.  This is a tex mexish place with some pancakes.  The place is always packed, not sure why maybe because of drink specials.  Wouldn't go back too many tasty restaurants to have instead.  For breakfast go to Moana's or Anthony's, for lunch go across the street to Paia Fish Market and for dinner go to Makawao Sushi & Deli.

Still one of my favorite restaurants on island.

Also, the burgers here are great.  The ahi burger is awesome, and the beef burgers are really good too.  Way better than any others that I've tried on island.

There are only a few vegetarian items on the menu but they're all pretty good, although I wish they would add a veggie burger to the lunch menu.

The margaritas here are the best on the island, and they have Lilikoi Wheat beer on tap too.

I'm giving this place 3 stars mainly because, in my humble opinion, you're paying top dollar for only average Mexican-style food.  If you did not grow up in Austin, Tx. then you will might feel differently.  If you did grow up in Austin then you will know what I mean.  Growing up in Austin totally spoils you for most Mexican food found elsewhere, because nothing compares to the amazing Tex-Mex found in Austin.

We ordered a dish which was basically mixed seafood over spanish rice.  Very tasty seafood (despite one raw, inedible scallop) but the concept was pretty pedestrian.  Chips and salsa come complimentary, but with only a tiny amount of salsa (they brought more after I asked.)

I ate here on Valentines day evening, and saw lots of sharply dressed singles in the place, sipping margeritas and slyly checking each other out, so if you're into that concept then this might be an awesome place for you.  If you know good Mex and you want some, you might have to make do with this until you can get yourself to Austin.

The layout is nice and open, with covered outdoor seating which is great on a Maui night.  Located on the corner, right downtown in Paia, this is a killer people-watching place, especially if you're sitting outside.  Our waitress was friendly, but didn't seem that interested in the food she was serving us.

Hawaiian food with a Southwestern twist!  Can't go wrong with the ahi burrito.  It's refreshing with the raw ahi, and topped with sweet chili sauce.  Yum!  The ono burger was just okay.

I'll add my praise to the accolades this place has already received. I try to eat here at least once every time I visit Maui. I had a unique and very tasty shrimp special here for lunch on one occasion. The ahi burrito chimichanga, a popular, regular menu item, is a sure bet. Portions are generous, and ingredients are always fresh.
Many margaritas are consumed here, but for something a little different, try a Li Hing margarita, which is flavored with dried and powdered Japanese plums. Delicioso!
It is worth the short wait for a table on the outdoor patio where you can people-watch; It is very noisy inside by the bar.

Stopped by for breakfast, didn't expect much.. just need to get filled up before road to Hana.. but.. we were surprised! the food is somewhat generic, but it definitely had a nice touch..
pancake: enjoyed the banana pancake with macademia nut.. not disapointing at all..
omellette: great, not too greasy.. and there's this salsa side that's very refreshing, with pineapple and tomato.. perhaps it's just my first breakfast in the island, but definitely enjoyed the breakfast there.

It's this little Latin/South American/Mexican fusion restaurant located in little Paia.  I love this place!  My mom used to babysit the owners' kids, and he used to bring food over to our house all the time to try.  So ONO!  Everytime I go home to Maui now, I either head over there for a nice lunch or have my Mom visit and bring me back some goodies.  You're all doing a great job, Al and family!

They have a pretty extensive menu for being a small place and the prices are good for all their entrees, between $7-$15.  And you get quite a bit of food for the dollar.  They always start you off with some chips and home made salsa.  Their menu for lunch and dinner is fairly extensive.  They have Crab Quesadillas, Blackened Ahi atquitos, Seafood Enchiladas and the Honey and Macadamia Nut Crusted Salmon salad.  They also have all-around favorites like Fish Tacos and the Ahi Burger.  I wish I had pics because I'm getting hungry!  But one of their most popular dishes (and my fav) is the Grilled Ahi Burrito.  It's grilled rare ahi, put into a large tortilla with their rice and beans.  Then it's topped with sweet chili sauce.  I tell you, with a fresh green salad (local Kula produce of course) on the side....SO BROKE DA' MOUTH!  Delicioso!  I get it almost everytime I'm there.

They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so you can practically go there anytime of the day.  Their breakfast has omelettes and Huevos Rancheros worthy of trying out.  Everything there is so fresh and so flavorful.  I haven't had one bad dish there yet.  They even have Happy Hour everyday from 3 PM-5 PM (I think that's the hours) where they have their famous Margaritas.  They have a lots of cold beer, as well as a large selection of tequila and other liquors to choose from.

We know the owners, so service for us has always been top notch.  Everyone on staff is friendly and attentive and we've never had any problems.  Folks are so nice!  The place is nicely decorated, kinda looks like maybe an old Mexican saloon...although some folks might think it's a bit dark.  Sit in the patio so you can hear all the rumblings going on in old Paia town.  The place is upbeat, lively, and totally informal.  You won't have any problems going there to hang out and talk with your friends in a tank top (Maui Built hopefully...ha ha), surf shorts, and slippahs (flip-flops for you non-Hawaii living folks).  They love catering to the beach folks, locals, and the tourists.

Take a little trip to Paia and visit Milagros Food Co.  Go in, say 'Hi' to owner Al and family for me, and have a Grilled Ahi Burrito in my honor.  Try a margarita.  Enjoy the food, the people, and the town.  Live like the locals do!!

After completing a little over half of the Road to Hana, we set foot in the quaint little village of Pa'ia in search of some sustenance. Milagros looked welcoming and they were playing the Fugee's CD. We figured, heck, if they're listening to this music,  they were bound to have good taste and thus, good food, so we walked in and were seated in the happy hour section: $2 house margaritas and draft beers!

Two margaritas and a trip to the wahine room later, I ordered the ahi burger served with fries, and I requested a side of guac. My BF had a burger and fries, he requested ranch but they didn't have any (gasp!) so he dipped his fries in the mustardy sauce that came with my burger and was appeased.

It was refreshing to have access to a clean restroom, considering the abomination of a porta potty I was forced to use at Twin Falls (first stop on the road to Hana) just hours prior. I would have been better off using the ground, and I think that's exactly what I'll do the next time around!

Anyway, good food, good value, good happy hour, and at the time we ate there, excellent music selection. :) I also like the funny signs that illustrate a foot on a chair with a big red "no" line going through it posted throughout.

3 stars.  Had dinner there with hubby and a mainland friend.  Tasty food and yummy mojitos.  However.... the music playing outside was SOOOOOO LOUD that it made chatting impossible.  Made us want to hurry our dinner along and get out of there.  Probably not what the owners want.

I ordered fish tacos. The fish was tender & the ingredients were fresh. Except.. the fish was sweet! It had this weird sweet flavor and the salsa was bland. Just didn't taste like tacos to me.

~Friendly wait staff!
~Excellent food!
~Generous portions!
~Awesome people watching locale!
~Wonderful 'eat on the patio' environment!
~Cozy lil beach town!

I just don't have a single bad thing to say about Milagro's; we had breakfast here & it was fantastic! It kept us content on the long winding road to Hana on a Sunday morning, and that's saying a lot..that's a long freaking drive! *grin*

A+ for Milagro's, wish we had a place like it here.

Just check the specials menu.  Between the coconut syrup Mahi Mahi thing and the blackened salmon we were in heaven.  And definitely eat outside at night.  I have been to this place several times and it always connects.  (And the salsa and chips are suprisingly good)

I was torn between 4 & 5 stars for this place.
I give it 5 for the Pina Colada's - which is what I came for and what keeps me coming back (several times per trip to Maui).
OMG, they are THE BEST PINA COLADAS EVER!!!

Can't wait til I'm not pregnant & can have a few again!!

The food is really good too - but pricey in my opinion.  I guess everything in Maui is a little pricey.  It's really yummy.  I think I had a crab quesadilla & J. had nachos.  Hadly got a burrito that lasted for two meals.  Good food, good service, good portion sizes, nice outdoor seating w/good people watching -  GREAT pina coladas.

milagros - its a sure thing. we went to this place at least 3 times during our 3 week stay on maui. we tried to find different restaurants, but our minds kept thinking about fresh salads, excellent fish fajitas and fruity margaritas. they have the best outdoor seating in Pa'ia - a great peoplewatching spot. and although it can get crowded, there is never a long wait.

I took one star off because one of the servers was a little hasty with us - perhaps the toddler flinging ice made her uncomfortable. other than that, always excellent food, a good buzz, and servers who were in love with our son.

The food served at Milagros is down homestyle cooking.  I ate here for breakfast and the food portions are gargantuan and delicious.  It took me three days to finish eating my breakfast.   The Maui coffee   made me feel like a nervous Chihuahua!  Wooo-hoo!  That coffee I drank really kicked my butt into high gear!

The wait staff were very nice and very friendly, too.  Parking was either on the street in front of the restaurant or the vacant lot by the side of the building.

It was pretty nice sitting outside eating my breakfast watching peeps walking down the street and driving their cars by the restaurant.  The town of Paia is really a peaceful, laid-back place where you can enjoy eating your meal as the world passes you by.

Yum, yum, gimme some! Like many before me, I just tried this place on a whim and was deliciously rewarded. Menu is taco/burger stand fare with liberal amounts of fresh, local fish. I had the Ahi burrito, and the Ahi was cooked perfectly - still pink. Husband had the nachos with pulled pork, and the pork was tender and lovely. Portions are more than generous, and given the prices (everything is about $10) an amazing value. Service is friendly and lightning fast. Food for us and all other tables was coming out in under 10 minutes. For what it's worth, the table next to us ordered burgers, and there was nothing to be heard from them but "mmmmmmmm."

I think Lonely Planet describes this place as Tex-Mex.  If this is freakin' Tex Mex, then Chez Panisse is a little neighborhood diner.  Yes, it's southwestern style, but without the typical combo of lard, salt, and constant deep-frying to cover up the taste of poor quality ingredients.

Here, you get sashimi-quality fish and local fresh veggies, in huge portions and done very well (I mean the cooking, not the actual doneness of the food-- we got our fish barely seared).  Grab an outdoor table under the awning, order up some drinks, and enjoy the people-watching until it's time to chow down.

Service is friendly and helpful-- they actually gave us good recommendations without hemming and hawing and pulling the "well, everything is good here" line.

Yes, I live in San Francisco and I'm spoiled by the availability of restaurants around here...  but even so, if Milagros was in SF it'd be one of my regular spots.

There are several tempting places to eat in Paia, but this one was hard to walk by and we even went back the next day!  The ahi burrito is delicious and I thought the fish tacos were good, although a little dry.  I like that the main dishes come with a side salad (and not just iceberg lettuce and carrots, either)...after scarfing down the tri-color chips and salsa that came with the meal, I had trouble finishing all my food but did anyway because it tasted good!  Service seems variable but for the most part solid.  If you like wheat beer, try the Wailua Wheat, it is good and has a bit of passion fruit flavor in the background.  We sat at the little tables outside both times and that was quite airy and as others have said, good for people-watching.  Overall, a great place!

for cheaper and more quantity than mama's, check out milagro's. its a corner southwestern seafood restaurant located at the corner of baldwin's. they serve fajitas, enchiladas, burritos etc. everything was tasty and in big portions. none of us were able to finish our food. maybe i was disappointed by most of the food in maui so since this place was decent, i give it 4 stars. most entrees were under $20. nothing spectacular but a good spot to peep given the slim choices in the area
