I really love it here. They play NPR, the bagels are to die for, and their espresso is by far the smoothest I've found in Cruces. The employees are friendly and fast, especially when it's 7 am, only 2 baristas on duty and the drive through line is just as long as the counter line. Go here if you want a great americano :)

Review from Emmy B.
I've always loved meeting up with friends at Milagro for a cup of great coffee. I usually grabbed something from the case to eat and went on about my business. I never really paid attention to the panini's. And, after today, I'll just pretend they aren't there.
We stopped in for something to eat before an Aggie volleyball game. Small coffee for me, a couple of espresso shots for the better half and a panini to split. Coffee was great, espresso was ok and the sandwich was...well...yuck. The one we ordered came with horseradish. Since I'm not a fan at all of that stuff, I asked if it could be without it. Nope - but they can take it off for $1. Huh? Oh - they're premade sandwiches. Gotcha. Alright, I'll deal with it.
We got our order and headed to the car. If we'd had more time, we would have gone back to the shop - the sandwich was ice cold on the inside. We took a total of 3 bites and was done.
If you're going, stick to the coffees and the bagels. Avoid the panini's at all cost. -

DEFINITELY what I think of when I think....."Coffee shop!"
Milagro is a favorite among NMSU students. I used to go when I was a student before transferring a few years back. Las month I decided to take a drive up to Las Cruces, and before leaving stopped here. Still as I remembered it--trendy, great coffee, and nice service! The place appears small at first, but there is a back room. Had a plain cup of coffee and scone. Yum!! You also get one refill free. Come check them out! -

This is a place that Las Cruces needs. Things I like:
- Big, good bagels with generous amounts of cream cheese (and even better that they put the cream cheese on for you because I can't stand these coffee shops (yes, I am talking about you Starbucks & Dunkin Donuts) that just give you a little container of cream cheese and a plastic knife and tell you to go for it.
- Really good chai. Any place that can make a good, hot chai will get my repeat business
- Drive thru window. I've only used it once but it was convenient.
- It is a place I could spend the morning doing work there on their generous size tables.
Things that could be better:
- They could expand their panini selection. It seems like they are all generally the same with one variant ingredient.
- Also, the paninis could use a few seconds less of sizzling - the two or three times that I've ordered them, they are always a little too bit toasted. I still order them though.... well, I think that is because they don't really have many other lunch options and if I want to get a drink and lunch, that's what you have to choose from.
The bagels and chai will keep me coming back though! -

UPDATE:
I'm sticking with 4 stars because there are so few choices in Las Cruces and this is still one of the best, but I would like to add a note about the service -- rather, a question --
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BREW A POT OF TEA?!
Good God, I swear that it takes the nice but slow staff here 20 minutes to make a pot of tea. They would never cut it in the city -- can you imagine someone in LA or Seattle waiting 20 minutes for tea? Hell, no! Only in Las Cruces!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Milagro does a much better job of being Seattle than Seattle does! (David said it reminded him of Seattle)
Milagro is hip in a cool, not pretentious way, they have panini's to die for, and they are a cool place to hang out or study. This is what Starbucks probably started out like, until they became all GMO.
If in Cruces and you dig a cool place to hang out, get some coffee or enjoy a good vibe, head on over to Milagro. -

Quickies: Internet, stable but with a bit of a lag; espresso, great and with worthwhile alternatives to standard selections; food, unknown but it looked and smelled tasty and tempting; seating, just about everywhere with a bit even spilling out onto the walk of the plaza; customers, most are studying or working, although some "scene" does exist with the smokers outside; employees, nice, informative and come across as only slightly pressed for time; environment, many pieces of art that appear to change out often, the most notable aspects going to the burlap bags from coffee that was shipped from various countries hanging from the ceilings.
NOTE: Coming from I25, look for the 1st McDonalds on the Right. Turn in to the plaza just past the McDonalds, as you'll see that Milagro was being hidden by the Mickie D.
Hours: 6:30a-10p, every day
There are almost no more indie coffee shops in Las Cruces since the franchises started moving in shortly after the turn of the millennium. Since then, the indie scene has taken some hard hits. Milagro has soaked in the campus scene and us travelers who still make a standard stop off in Cruces for a cup o' Joe and some good conversation.
Milagro (I believe it means "miracle" in Spanish) has some bads, some goods, but averages out to... average. It's almost a perfectly average indie coffee shop, with a slight lean towards becoming "better than average." The Internet can drag when busy, and the scene is more study-based than on having conversations... but it truly is the best in all Las Cruces.
When it comes time to plug in the laptop and get on the Net, head to the back room. It has a lot of outlets and the best signal in the building. It's ambient lighting is easy on the eyes and is instantly comfortable. There's a lamp on each table in case you need a brighter light to work with. -

On a road trip through the Southwest, that included many coffee shops, this was the favorite:
-expertly pulled shots
-engaging and friendly staff, knowledgeable and ready to engage us in talking about coffee
-delicious and perfectly proportioned cappuccinos
-warm atmosphere; milagro attracted a combination of relaxed readers and families -

Coffee house, you are not. It's like starbucks younger, crazier and hipper bro went into business. 3 choices of coffee for the day? Shizelsticks. Maxell house comes in more than 3 flavors. Granted, the coffees are at least strong. and yes, I did it, I tried the food. The panini was good, but I don't want to think of the conditions in the kitchen. Note to coffee manager, invest in $1 fly traps. if there are more than 5 flies in the seating area, chances are there are more in the real food storage area. If you go, go with a bug net.

This place rocks-
I have been here many many times since it opened and always the absolute best coffee. Coffee is roasted fresh here, so you can check out the board to see what is available, I always stock up when I am here and take it home.
Panini sandwiches are yummy, and service has always been top notch. A drive through if you gotta run. The wireless is fine, that is where I am writing this from- but there are not many folks here since it is in the middle of the holidays. -

What a wonderful surprise to find in Las Cruces!
The smell of freshly roasted coffee beans was my introduction as I walked in and their coffee was as just as good as I hoped. Its a comfortable, eclectic place with plenty of tables, a couple of couches, etc. As you would expect, plenty of students studying along side folks just hanging out. Service was wonderful and very quick for me. I didn't try the food, but will definitely be back as this seems to be one of the few places in town to get something healthy. -

Mango smoothie...yummy! Probably the best selection of coffee that I've seen in this town....too bad it was too hot outside to try any this time. My husband loved the turkey panini. Free wifi, comfortable setting, great place for relaxing or people watching...

Sadly, I found out yesterday that Ocotillo Roasters now will only sell beans at the Farmer's Market...I will miss their best in town brews!!! Looks like Starbucks is the best choice for coffee in this town. Sorry, Milagro!

Today I revisited Milagro's which I haven't been in for a long while, mainly because of school. I decided that I would buy a gift card here for a person, as a thanks for helping out "you're awesome" sort of thing. While I was there I decided to enjoy a mocha to start off my day; pretty simple, i thought - coffee and chocolate. Anyway, I picked up my gift card for a friend and sat down at the couch to wait for my drink. few people were in the store, maybe 5, but the location is pretty spacious, I mean a lot of sitting room. so five minutes flew by and i was still waiting for my drink. four people came in as a waited, and I noticed the two first people received their drinks rather quickly not to mentioned they spent some time chatting up with the barista that was obviously his friends. 10 minutes passed, and I still didn't have my drink - and neither did the other two people that have now been waiting 5 minutes for their drinks. I didn't think it was that much of a task, a simple mocha. but apparently it took them 13 minutes to mix chocolate and coffee. I didn't know what was up with that, all I know is that i left disappointed. Maybe there was a reason I subconsciously didn't return for a while. Oh well.

Review from David J.
Las Cruces, NM
Milagro reminds me of Seattle. Kind of. Not really. But, hey, they try. First off, the staff has always been nice. The coffee is decent if not downright good. The atmosphere is generally ok. They have lightning fast internet (wireless) which is a huge plus. Some of the downsides? Flies. Lots of 'em. The little pesky annoying ones. Lack of sizes for their espressos and coffees. That little back hall place that is supposed to be kind of quiet, but makes you claustrophobic and tired. Oh, and everytime I've been in, I get stared at like some caged monstrosity. I think it's that whole "how did HE find out about this place, and is HE going to be the one to ruin everything?" Well, just like I said before. Businesses need more people going to visit them. Not less. And if that makes the handful of regs uncomfortable? So be it. More money equals opportunities to open more places. Why not have a few Milagro's in the LC?
