As of late last week, Mike's is closed. I don't know the reasons behind the closure. There's a sign on their doors stating they appreciated serving the community, made lots of lifelong friends, and said goodbye basically.
They always seemed to be doing a decent business for lunch and dinner, so I doubt it was purely financial, but who knows.
I haven't heard or seen if anyone plans to occupy the space quickly or not.

Mike's is always good! The seafood linguini is my favorite, but all dishes are decent. Good,… Read more »
Not surprised to read that this place is closed. Service is awful, food is blah and overpriced.
Everytime we go to this place, the service is exceptionally bad - we have been to this place probably 3-4 times (and will likely not go back). It does not seem to matter what time of day you go, or how busy they are - the food is decent, but the service is awful.
Granted I probably won't visit Mike's much, due to the distance from my home, but I did enjoy my lunch here the other day.
One cup of crab and corn chowder and half a turkey club sandwich. The chowder was amazing and unlike any chowder I've had. I am not a sandwich person, but the turkey club was full of fresh ingredients including a tasty tomato and a garlic mayo spread on fluffy sourdough. When was the last time a tomato on a restaurant sandwich actually had flavor?
Service was prompt and maybe a tad over-enthusiastic. Only complaint is the server smelled like an ashtray.
I've never rated a place this badly, so I don't take this type of thing lightly. I had lunch at Mike's today along with three friends. They weren't particularly busy, but it took us an hour to get our meals, which is a little unacceptable in my book.
When the meals got there, it was obvious that most of the food was not fresh, but frozen or from a bag. One person had the Crabcakes Eggs Benedict with potatoes. The 'country' potatoes were obviously from a bag and the crabcakes were not fresh. The hollendaise had been sitting long enough to get that icky film. Two people at the table had the crab club sandwich and fries. The fries were from a bag, which isn't *that* surprising, but the crab in their sandwiches was either frozen or canned. It tasted watery and flavorless. The bacon was strange too: it didn't taste like freshly-cooked bacon at all, but instead almost like baco-bits. I had the spring mix salad. It's hard to mess up a salad, but the candied walnuts were scorched/burned.
We looked around before leaving and other customers looked as pissed off as we did. I would never EVER go to this place again.
I read about Mike's Cascade Grill almost two years ago in the newspaper. I finally was able to go there last weekend after shopping at the North Bend outlet malls.
So, Mike really likes balsamic and goat cheese, both of which are good things in my book. My wife chose a chicken breast with balsamic and goat cheese and I had the adult mac n cheese which has 4 cheeses (one of which is goat!).
Usually chicken breasts aren't something to buy at a restaurant because you can make them at home just as well (really they are). But they did a pretty good job of it at MIkes. Even the kid's plate chicken breast was really tasty.
My mac n' cheese was really good. It really was penne and cheese, but I'm not complaining, because I was also able to add on BACON! Bacon makes everything even better.
The service was good, friendly and they had a bunch of kids toys that your little ones could play with. There is a bar here, and the later we stayed, the louder (though not uncomfortably so) the bar became.
There were several ceiling fans and so the air was moving quite a bit. It did cool our food a bit quicker than desired and I would say that I was colder there than I've ever been in the Cascade's in any season.
If you are on the way Eastside and looking for a nice meal, Mike's is the place to go.
I have a warm spot in my heart for this place since it was literally the first place I ate when I moved to the area. Honestly though, it was better when the town was smaller and there were fewer people to eat there. As the town grew, the service and food didn't really keep pace.
I do enjoy the crab and corn chowder on just about any day, but better on a nice damp, cold, cascade winter day. The wait staff generally seems overwhelmed and the last few times the service was pretty slow.
'Meh' is my reaction to this place.
I wasn't impressed with my food, and no one else seemed like they were impressed either. It was edible but really it just tasted like what it was, ex, I had an omelet and it tasted like eggs. I asked for a cup of hot water, and got it in a coffee cup stained and what not... ew. I wished they had taken the time to put thought into presentation.
The store is open and spacey with large windows great for the summer but I can imagine it would get cold in the winter. Nothing special really. But , also not something I would demand my money back for too.
Oh, I think they are kid friendly. I saw 3 baskets of toys and paper and crayons for kids when I was there though, I saw no kids.
This place is the kind of boring that takes you by dull surprise. I've gone a few times and I always expect it to be better. The place is nice, but the food is repeatedly underwhelming and not expensive, but too expensive for what you get. You'd be better of going elsewhere, even in the land of no good restaurants.
I ordered the Smoked Salmon Quesadilla and honestly, I thought it was pretty good though it was really really salty. The cocktail was awesome and service was very attentive.
The Buffalo salad is delicious, among a few other dishes. It's kind of a hit and miss though - some good, some not so good. The breakfast items are pricey and not the best selection. But the decor is pleasing and the wait staff is nice. Good beers on tap (Mac 'n Jacks, YAYE)!
OK, but not great. Food was good, but didn't bowl me over. Service OK. Nice decor to restaurant. We came there for a late dinner, and it looked like the bar was pretty active, so the bar may be the place to be.
Not that great. The burgers used to taste great. The last 4 or 5 times we ordered it, I swear they tasted like liver was mixed in with the meat! Gross. We don't eat here anymore bec service is always iffy as well as the food. The tuna sandwiches are ALWAYS salty.
