Mike just played for our wedding on July 9th, 2011 in Livermore, CA. He was so easy going and great to work with. Everything from picking the songs to determining event flow was effortless. He gave me great suggestions for songs that were a little different than traditional wedding music and I even ended up using a couple of songs that he composed himself!
Overall everyone really loved the feel and atmosphere that the guitar provided for the wedding and they had a great time! Thank you Mike!!! Can't wait to see you play over on the coast some time! -

Mike was AWESOME at our outdoor farm wedding in October. Friends getting married next year immediately asked for his info.
But even more importantly, I wanted to sing a surprise song for my new husband, and Mike worked with me to get in some practice before the big day. My husband considers it the most memorable point of the wedding, and I couldn't have done it without Mike's help!Listed in: Farm Wedding with an Indie…

Mike provided our music for the ceremony and our reception. Mike's performance was a fantastic complement to our Sunday afternoon wedding on April 3, 2011.
Mike even learned a song that holds special meaning to me - "Time after Time'. The Beatles song "In My Life" was perfect for my entrance. Beatles a favorite of my husband.
Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!!

I owned the Montara Bistro several years ago and Mike would come in to play for my guests one night a week. In retrospect, that wasn't enough. As a direct result of his presence, my patronage doubled the nights he played. He was so well liked that we we asked him to join our catering business to play at very high end social events. Again, he was the highlight of the evening.
Speaking from experience, his talent shines and draws a network of friends and fans welcome in any establishment. Keep on playing Mike, you bring happiness to those around you. -

Mike played at a small wedding I photographed in SF. He brought his own speaker system, was a total pro, easy going, and the MUSIC was so lovely and really set the mood. Fantastic.

I hired Mike for my husband and I's wedding ceremony in San Francisco, CA on September 5th, 2009. I had never met Mike in person, but was referred to him during my search for the perfect Spanish acoustic guitarist. We emailed and spoke on the phone numerous times before the big day. His website was helpful in providing sound bites from songs he plays. From there I was able to name songs I liked, and allowed him to make suggestions as well.
The ceremony took place outside during a typical foggy San Francisco evening, right on the coast on the lawn of the Legion of Honor. I chose "Here Comes the Sun" for Mike to play as I walked down the aisle, unaware of how perfect it was not only for the occasion, but also for the weather!
I regret not ever meeting Mike in person because he was so wonderful to talk with and work with. I could hear his music playing for our guests and knew that we had found the perfect musician for the job!

We had our wedding in Napa in the summer of 2010, and all our guests enjoyed Mike's soothing guitar performance. We took great care in selecting the right music performer since we wanted our ceremony to be memorable and comfortable for everyone there. After reviewing many music vendors, we ultimately selected Montara Music and trusted Mike to be the sole provider of music during our ceremony and cocktail reception. We are so happy we selected Mike because of his amazing musical talent, and sincere and friendly presence.
Mike played calm, uplifting guitar music throughout our ceremony, including original songs that Mike had shared samples of with us ahead of time. Before having Mike at our wedding, we primarily communicated with Mike via telephone and email, and he was always professional and responded promptly. Mike also invited us to many of his Bay Area performances to sample some of his live guitar play. Mike was also creative and flexible in accommodating our requests including when we integrated a tea ceremony into our wedding ceremony, and Mike offered light and serene freestyle melodies during this portion of our ceremony.
Mike was extremely kind, understanding, and easy to work with, and we had already felt so comfortable with him before we even met in person. On the day of the wedding, Mike was just as personable and friendly as we had imagined. During the cocktail reception, many of our guests were so impressed with his music that some even took pictures with the friendly and talented guitarist. We highly recommend Mike and Montara Music, and look very forward to hearing more of Mike's performances soon. -

I have had the pleasure of catching Mike play at Crab Landing and several other coastside venues. He is an amazing guitarist and really adds wonderful a atmosphere to anywhere he plays. Highly recommended!

Yesterday I saw an incredible Spanish guitar player at the Florida St. Cafe! It was great! The music totally set a cool tone and ambiance to the place.
It was really dynamic but still allowed people enjoying the conversations. It sounded like Mike has a great music repertoire.
The music definitely made the evening so much more fun! -

i honestly don't know if i have the words to describe how i feel about mike mccall / montara music. i hired mike as the spanish guitarist for my wedding in tiburon on may 1st of 2010. he came to me as a recommendation from another guitarist i was thinking of hiring. mike was amazing from the very beginning - he spoke to me over the phone a couple of times, quoted a price based on time, distance and what i was looking for on the wedding day and was extremely reasonable. mike contacted me a couple of times prior to the big day and even played songs over the phone for me so i could pick out 'my special song' for our wedding. mike played a song for me one night, about a week before our wedding, that literally brought me to tears over the phone and i knew that that was the song for me. it was more upbeat and less traditional than most brides had chosen in the past but it was mine... i can still hear 'my' song in my head today and mike even made a youtube video just for me...

i asked him for a recording because i want to be able to remember that moment for the rest of my life. i know i will. my hope is that mike is still playing guitar and will play for us in 10 years when we renew our vows. unfortunately, i wasn't able to hear much of the music he played before the actual ceremony but i'm still receiving comments and compliments a month later. i love his special contribution to our wedding day and, as i stated, i am still moved by 'my song'. if you are looking for just the right special touch for your day....hire mike mccall of montara music. you will NOT be disappointed. ...my song, is 'my' song though. :) -

Mike played at our wedding ceremony and reception last month, and it turned out perfectly. We held the ceremony in a small romantic but airy room in a restaurant in SF, and the choices of songs we made with Mike went over extremely well. During the reception, in a much larger room, he used his amplifier, and his song selections in the background made for a perfect event. We received numerous compliments from guests regarding Mike and the music, and we wholeheartedly recommend checking Mike out for any future events where Spanish guitar would seem to fit well. Mike is a great guy, very friendly, very easy to work with and very fair in his rates. Stupendous experience.
