I didn't mean to move during a heatwave. I had no idea our move day would break 106-degrees. I was wilting like a hothouse flower, but Mike and crew didn't falter for a minute. They moved our 3+BR worth of crap from there to here like it was nothing. (OK, they grumbled about my heavy rusty garden stuff and the Cactus From Heck, but that only made me like them more.)
Their bill came to about half of what Delancey St. quoted us, so we were able to give them a big tip, which was much appreciated. I would use them again in a heartbeat.Listed in: Adventures in Home Ownership

Boo. We just waited 3 and a half hours to be moved by the untrustworthy Mike and the Movers. No show. Not even a call back. I am happy I did not give the 5 stars two years ago when we used Mike. Amina who is the girlfriend who does coordinating. Big boo to u. This "business" needs to be changed to Mike and the No Shows. They even sent an e-mail confirmation - so beware!

These guys were great. The best movers that I ever had to deal with. There were completely professional, courteous, and did everything that they promised to do.

These guys are the absolute best. They're pleasure to work with and the rates are very very reasonable for the quality of service received.
Just can't say enough good things so I'm not going to... Very very highly recommended, absolutely loved'em.

We used Mike's moving service in a recent move, and they were just great. We had the unfortunate timing of a downpour during the move - all day - and the guys kept their spirits up despite the rain - an amazing feat!
They were punctual, kept moving (none of that dilly dallying to extend the time), and they were very aware of fragile items, not letting the animals out, etc etc.
All around, really good guys, good service, and we would use them again. -

We were dreading moving day so much that we decided to just see how much movers cost. We sent a list of the items we'd be moving, and a list of all the stops we would need to take along the way. Mike and the Movers got back to us right away and the price was too good to be true. We felt like we were taking a chance by going with a moving company that did not have many reviews, but went with this company because we couldn't beat the price.
These guys did an AWESOME job. They showed up on time, and were fast and efficient. They were such hard workers and very STRONG too! These guys got the job done so much faster than our friends and a few trucks would have, and they treated all of our items like valuables.
When you look at how much it costs to rent a Uhaul for a day, compared to low price and the ease of having Mike and the Movers take care of all the hard stuff for you, it just makes sense to makes sense to call these guys.
We will never move ourselves again. Thanks Mike and the Movers. 5 stars! -

We moved from SF to Daly City last weekend and Mike & The Movers were fantastic! I've moved many times, and they were by far the best movers I've ever had. Tony & Jose were our movers and they were on time, professional, personable, and fast...and you can't beat the price. Mike called a few days beforehand to confirm the date/time, the movers called on their way over the morning of, and Mike responded to our original request for a quote really quickly.
Bottom line: Hire these guys!!! They're the best and I'll never go elsewhere for moving services. -

I have used them twice already and I can fully recommend them. They are fast and charge reasonable rates. They definitely won't jack you by taking their time or charging hidden fees. Mike made sure our team of guys showed up on time and was very accommodating. They fit right into our schedule on a short notice.I'll be using them again for a 3rd time to get all our crap out of storage.

We did a crazy two-apartments to one-bigger apartment move from the city to the peninsula on 02/21--and these guys were awesome.
They were really on top of it all--really professional and efficient. Nothing damaged, not a scratch. I highly recommend these guys. I'll be calling them up if we move again (I hope not, though--only because I HATE MOVING!! But these guys made it really easy...) -

I had a move last friday (4/17/09) Mike and Tony are very reliable they show up on time, they did the job really fast and very satisfactory.
One note is if its your first time to use a mover like them make sure you box it all up because once they started its hard to keep up. Good jobs guys !!! I will use them on my next move. -

I recently used Mike & the Movers for a local move in the Oakland / Berkeley area. I was very happy with their service in all regards.
I filled out a form on their website, received a prompt quote in response, and they were very accommodating in scheduling an appointment at the last minute.
The movers actually called before they arrived to confirm their arrival time, and they were efficient and courteous.
The prices were very reasonable and there were no hidden charges, as I have encountered in past moves.
I would definitely recommend these guys. My days of renting a u-haul and moving myself are over. -

I can't speak to how these guys are as movers, but I can say that the customer service leading up to the move was so lackluster that we went elsewhere. After an eager initial callback and email with a quote, we waited days to hear back on follow-up questions (and even when we heard back, questions went unanswered). They might be fine movers, but they don't seem all that eager to secure customers leading up to the job.

These guys helped me move in early January. Two of 'em showed up right on time and helped me get all my crap loaded into the truck. They unpacked everything quickly and nothing was damaged. They joked around and were all around pleasant folk. I'd definitely use them again. The best part was the cost.

I had to move with a baby so hiring good movers is a must. I wasn't able to get my previous movers on the date I wanted and I decided to check out Mike and The Movers based on the Yelp rating. I decided to try Mike and the Movers after talking with Mike. The guys he sent over were great. They were on time, friendly, and hardworking.The fact that they all spoke English made a big difference. We had a lot of stuff and we needed to make sure we get everything into the house before it gets dark, which is by 5pm. These guys did not disappoint, and they are good people. I would recommend them to my friends and I would use them again in the future.

Mike and the Movers is A+++++ TOP-NOTCH!!!
We were dreading our move and Mike and the Movers actually made it a pleasure. From the first moment, we knew that our items were in the best hands. Our movers were Jim and Steve and they were awesome! They arrived on time, were very courteous and never stopped moving until the job was done. You would have thought they were moving their own personal items, they even wrapped several of our pieces for a safer trip at NO additional charge! These gentlemen come prepared to work and have the equipment to make the move safe & efficient. They made it look so easy! Mike and the Movers reasonable rates are what got our attention at first, but their professional skills and friendly attitude will have us hiring them again for our next move. Great move! Mike, Tony, and Henry did a great job and they were fast. I used a different moving company in the Bay Area once before, and there is no comparison. From scheduling the move, to the actual move itself, the whole process was painless. Definitely recommend!

From the craigslist ad you don't expect too much, but what you get is impeccable service. Mike and the movers were polite, nice, efficient, hardworking, and had a sense of humor. With their own truck and guys, you are really saving money over the dreaded UHaul experience and beer for your ex-friends. A great bargin, trustworthy, and your infamously heavy sideboard (mine) arrived in perfect condition. Hey, they even tolerated my changing my mind about the bed placement in the new place. Just be aware that the set up fee is NOT at your house, but a set fee for them when you are guestimating your costs. I will call them again, if they are willing to take on the sideboard. Maybe I should just stay put....

I picked Mike and The Movers based upon the YELP rating and was impressed with their care and efficiency. Steve and Henry showed up on time and hustled the whole time. I had a couple of big items that required special handling - a hutch and a roll-top desk - that they wrapped carefully and had to negotiate a couple of tight corners to move them into my new place. I recommend them without reservation.

I had chosen Mike and the Movers based on their Yelp reviews and promptness with which they responded to my initial inquiry. Having never previously hired movers before, i was unsure about the process, but the two movers (the other Mike and Tony) were professional, fast, and really helped me stop stressing worrying so much. I couldn't believe how easy it was with Mike and the Movers and, of course, will be using their service again in the future. :) -

I was very dissapointed with this moving company. As many of you who goes by the ratings from this website, so did I. I was unimpressed by the whole thing. Let's just say that if I wanted to pick a few guys from Home Depot and asked them to help me, I would probably get better service than "Mike and the Movers". I mean these guys were slow as molasses, the two didn't know what to do and kept asking the one guy what they should do and how to do it, and they freakin took their time.
As per Mike, to get three guys to be better and faster, WRONG. I would not go with these guys and would look somewhere else to get moving help. They were not professional nor did they know what to do. On top of all that, we were charged almost three hundred dollars MORE than what they quoted us. Eventhought, we have moved most of the smaller boxes and all of the kitchen stuff by ourselves.

I called on Wednesday for a Sat morning move -- they called up a day before to let me know they'll come 1/2 hr early, appreciate the heads up. I paid $360 for 3 & 3/4 hr move. The movers were very nice, took care of our things (including the plasma tv that we told them they can't tilt) ... I'd say one of them was fast and the other one was slower but I can't say he was slow. But anyway I was happy with the price I paid, and Mike called after the job to make sure everything was fine. I dont think these guys are the cheapest out there, but I was happy with the service.

When looking for a moving company I came to YELP, did a search and narrowed it down to 3 companies. I emailed all 3 and decribed my time frame and needs, requesting a rough estimate. Only Mike returned to me a detailed, thorough and complete response which included prices.
I opted to use their services for moving and they did not disappoint. Mike & Tony showed up on time, they were professional, friendly, helpful and fast. They didn't sit around talking or wasting time, they didn't complain that I was on the 2nd floor or even that they had to also go to my storage unit and get all that out. I felt more like I had some good friends who were moving me rather than hiring a company.
Once we got to my new destination in San Leandro, they were just as quick to unload, they continually made sure they were putting things where I needed or wanted them. And only jokingly gave me a hard time about my 'extensive wardrobe'. I would definitely use their services again and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality, fast, friendly and professional services! -

These guys are the BEST movers I've ever worked with. They are punctual and supremely efficient. They work, work, work, without stopping, take short lunch break, and then work, work, work without stopping again! I really don't think anyone could have done a better job. They are extremely conscientious about keeping your furniture safe, and about putting everything where you want it in your new home. They are professional, polite, and easy to work with. They are truly excellent at what they do! Hire them!

I needed a mover and saw the reviews on Yelp so I decided to call Mike and The Movers. They were GREAT. Tony and Mike arrived on time, and took great care with everything........they were so cheerful and pleasant and helpful........they had to move all the stuff into 2 different containers (a POD and a truck ) which was no easy task, but they did it perfectly with a minimum of fuss. I had so much stuff and a lot of plants and garden stuff.........everything arrived in perfect shape, and the cost was so much more reasonable than my last movers (what a nightmare THAT was!) I highly recommend Mike and the Movers. Oh and they only took one 7 minute break the whole day.
