This place is a good find in Bar Harbor. Hidden on a little side street, this restaurant has great outdoor dining, with large glass doors that open the inside of the restaurant to the patio.

The food and drinks here were good, not excellent, but good. The red sangria is tasty, and the bartender is not afraid to add plenty of booze. We ordered the fish tacos and the crab quesadilla. The crab quesadilla was the real winner. Skip the fish tacos and try something else instead. The salsa is excellent, which makes me rate the food higher.

If you are in Bar Harbor and want to eat somewhere a little removed from the strip of souvenir shops and wandering tourists, this is a good option.

Another mediocre restaurant.  Miguel's is a typical mexican restaurant run by Americans.  The food was satisfactory but nothing really stood put for me to remember this restaurant after I get back home.

The margaritas were fine, the guacamole was okay as were the enchiladas.  How were the desserts?  Don't know....we ordered two desserts but the server forgot about them and just handed us the check.  Okay...I guess we really didn't want those desserts after all :)

Again, this is Maine so I shouldn't expect good Mexican here.  It was adequate..just don't think you are going to get an authentic meal.

Almost gave it 4 stars if I was to grade on the "curve" system of Mexican restaurants this far North.  It wasn't bad, really.

I had a craving; living on the west coast, I'm used to Mexican food 2 or 3 times per week.  I've been travelling, so I needed a spice fix.

Chips and salsa were better than expected.  Entrees came from a reasonably sized menu.  The food was flavorful - not the blandness I'd expect in a tourist town in the Northeast.

A few oddities: Tacos are served on flour tortillas (gasp) and when I asked if they could come on corn tortillas, we were told that we can, but they will be smaller - lol.

And burritos are served with beans on the outside - not inside.

After reminding myself where I was, I ended up having a good meal, and got my fix.  It tasted good.   I'd recommend this place if you're tired of "the usual" and need a little spice.

Having been raised in So Cal and lived here for 40 years, I'm pretty picky about my Mexican restaurants. In Los Angeles and San Diego, you don't have to go far to find excellent, authentic Mexican food.

I was a little hesitant about eating Mexican food this far north and this far east, but it was pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Like many other Mexican restaurants this far away from the border, the food here is good but not very authentic. Like soft tacos filled with chicken. The atmoshere is nicely decorated with true Mexican painted tiles. The floors are the traditional clay tiles. There is a very large selection of tequilas and the margaritas were very tasty. Costly at $15 for a single serving of a Don Julio based margarita. Ouch. However the cost of the food was on par with the quailty. The almond crusted snapper with apple and mango chutney was really good. Shrimp empanada were light flacky and fresh tasting. Chili con queso was bit overcooked. The salsa which was delivered with the corn chips was thick and made from fresh tomatoes.

Service seemed slow for the number of tables filed with people. Our server was nice and helpful. Our food timing seemed to be more of a problem of the kitchen and not of our server. I have not been here for some time. Things seem to have stayed consistant since my last visit a few years prior.

So if you happen to be seeking out some Mexican food while here in Bar Harbor, stop on by. Enjoy a few nice beers on tap or a picther of margaritas. Particularly on Sunday when they seem to offer a discount to get people drawn in.

This place claimed to have vegetarian/vegan options including seitan tacos and tofu fajitas. We ordered tofu tacos and were surprised to find that the filling was not tofu but chopped up boca burgers.
It was a bummer to say the least.
I don't know if they think people can't tell the difference... but I could and I wish I could've gotten my money back.

Good food... only disappointment was the teeney-tiny margaritas!  Seriously, they were VERY small & still at regular prices too.
Some of the people I was with were locals and knew to order the "pitcher" of margaritas, which was basically a tall beer mug.  Lesson learned for next time.  I would go back as the food was yummy.

This is smack in the middle of downtown Bar Harbor and one of two Mexican restaurants in town. Trust me this is the best choice. It is a quaint little spot off main street hidden away from all the crowds and is neat inside with a dark cozy feel. The staff is friendly and quick on their feet. The menu is a nice collection of Mexican favorites and nice drink concoctions. The Sangria is awesome and if you add one of the fruits in it it makes it even better since you can get additional pineapple or mango added in. The crab quesadillas were equally as good and the whole experience was pretty good including the price! A nice find in this seafood town!

Good stuff.  I was actually pleasantly surprised.  This was almost 4 stars.  I had enchiladas verde with lobster.  My buddy had enchildas mole with chicken.  We shared a pitcher of house margaritas.

Good - our waitress Joan, a local scientist from Jones Lab that works a night a week at Miguel's, was delightful and fun and smart and funny.  She had six tables smiling.
Good - enchiladas verde with lobster
    Good - mole sauce

"eh." - the house margaritas were too sweet but were MUCH better when we added an extra shot and cup of ice.  Joan thought we were crazy when we asked for the shot and ice (obviously thinking we were about to perform a crazy bar drinking trick) but it cure the oversweet issue perfectly.

Bad - dried up rice and refried beans (yes I care)

Not bad, overpriced. The kind of thing you'd expect at Bar Harbor. Don't expect to be blown away.

Delicious!! Full gluten free menu complete with red highlighting for "stop' and green highlighting for "go". Takes the thinking out of ordering gluten free on vacation and is damn tasty at that! We would've gone back here the second night, but I was afraid we'd look like taco addicts. Lol.

Such a disappointment. Pricey for such a let down. We were excited about the vegan options, particularly the veggie fajitas, but they didn't come with tofu but instead mushed up boca burger. It was kinda gross. The rice was crunchy, although I always appreciate when I can find veggie rice and beans. The guacamole was brown. They unfortunately stopped making their own horchata- powdered is cheaper. The drinks I was interested in were made w/ syrup and the lemonade my sis got was basically all syrup. We didn't drink it. The chips were not good, but the pico was obviously fresh and the mango salsa was great. Friendly staff. I hope we just caught them on an off day, but I wish we'd went to Tamarind. Which we're excited about tomorrow!

Pretty good Mexican food for the Northeast-- and an especially good array of vegetarian entrees. Veggie mole enchiladas, veggie fajitas, both served with soyrizo.

Great place to have appetizers and lounge on the outdoor deck, or inside for that matter. The fried ice cream is fantastic and always seems like a good late night idea.

This place was surprisingly good for a Tex-Mex joint this far removed from the other border.  It's no Pappasitos or Chuys (in Houston, God I miss those places), but for Bar Harbor, it was a welcome surprise.

First off, I want the salsa/pico de gallo recipe.  It's really tasty.  It's not traditional, but damn it was good.

I got the beef fajitas - the decision was made after I smelled them being delivered to a nearby table.  The meat was well seasoned, and there was a squeeze of lime on top that gave it that extra something.  I actually wished I had a lime to do the same for the strips of meat on the bottom, but no dice.  The sides were nothing special, but really, the meat's the star of that show.  The rice tasted like something that comes boxed with a seasoning packet, and the refried beans were super-heavy.  The guacamole was well flavored and kind of spicy.

My husband had the lobster bowl/lobster salad thing which he seemed to very much enjoy.  Fresh avocado, corn, mango, and some lobster in a taco bowl in the middle.

The service was also quite good.  Our waitress was like a ninja anticipating drink refills, and since they were of the bottomless iced tea variety, we certainly got our $2 worth.
