WELL worth the trip from JP! Really! Fantastic selection, ranging from classic professional/work outfits to workout wear and swimwear! All at great prices.
I scored 5 awesome tops in the $1 bin, and two pair of jeans ($18 and $24 each) that will last throughout my pregnancy.
Brett is super nice and helpful - thanks so much. She updates the Facebook page with new arrivals, so "like" there, too.
Downtown Salem is full of little shops and restaurants, so make a day trip of it. I'll be back!

Aaaaaaaaaaaahmazing great selection of higher and lower end clothes, all clean and reasonably priced.  I wasn't psyched about the dressing room.....it's basically their back/storage room. But the entire store is sparkling clean.  They also have a small box of toys to keep kids happy and moms shopping!  I really enjoyed the easy going nature of the staff, they offered just enough help and didn't seem to mind my son ripping through the toys.
Ps no returns, no exchanges, no refunds.  So make sure you look over everything and try things on!

    Pros:
    --the concept is great
--the owner is super friendly and helpful
--there's a mix of casual and dressy, and the most maternity clothing I've seen at once in a live shop
    --nice atmosphere
    --box of toys for kids
--some Liz Lange NOT for Target items
--some designer jeans--though better deals on ebay
--expanding to include some nicer baby items

    Cons:
--some things are quite overpriced and valued (Old Navy, Target, JC Penney brands for more just a few dollars less than you would pay new or on sale (not clearance) in the store. Quite obviously worn
--There was a dress here that I loved, but was a size too big (it was Maternal America.) Since it wouldn't work, I came home and looked online for it, thinking I could find another used in my size. Well...I found it new, at Chulamama for $20 less.)
--not private dressing rooms--have to share, with a simple clothing rack divider between you if someone else happens to want to come in.

Overall, worth the trip for sure, but could use some help in the pricing department! Oh, and bring change for the meters. The meter readers are punctual.

What can I say about Mighty Aphrodite Maternity Consignment?  It is freaking awesome!  I bought my entire wardrobe there during this last pregnancy and the owner treated me like a queen!  She let me shop and deliberate for hours, and she is just so unbelievably sweet!  I asked her how it was that she stumbled upon such a great idea and it turns out she is a mother and a doula as well!  Duh!  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize you need about 5 different wardrobes while you are pregnant and most of the clothes don't get used for more than a few weeks!  It is totally expensive and then what do you do with them when you are done?  Consign them at Mighty Aphrodite!  Brilliant!  Plus the store is super cute!  I never felt like I was buying used clothes, on the contrary this store was like finding hidden treasure!

I was so excited when I heard Brett was opening up a consignment maternity store!! What a great option for local moms-to-be that are looking for budget-friendly maternity clothing.

So of course after all of the fanfare on Facebook I waltzed into this store last weekend and found it to be very charming, neat and clean. The clothes are well displayed, the staff is friendly, and who doesn't love cute flower pots outside of storefronts in Salem?!

While I don't need this store personally I love the concept and tell all of my maternity clients about it. Totally worth a day trip to Salem - stop by Crunchy Granola Baby around the corner while you're at and get something for the little one too!

I liked this place... I would have given it a better rating but for two things... The only staff member in the place knew nothing about the products (could not tell me how belly support belts worked, did not understand sizing for one of their more unique product lines, etc.) and they mostly had sizes small and medium, which sucks for gals who were pleasantly plump before they got pregnant, or who have big boobs and big arms, like me.

This place is pretty awesome - genius idea, I can't believe it hasn't already been done a million times before in the Boston area.  The selection is very good (though not too many petites), and the prices reasonable.  Lets you stock up on maternity wear and not feel like you're getting totally ripped off for stuff you'll only wear for 4 or 5 months.

Plus they supposedly get new stuff every week, so I'm sure I'll be making a trip back up there again before long.  They haven't been open very long, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that they expand to the big city someday soon!  Definitely worth the trip to Salem, though - highly recommended if you're in a family way.

I wish this place existed for my first pregnancy! I am on my second pregnancy & still wanted to buy up the entire store. This is a must-see for anyone who is pregnant. The variety and quality of clothing is exceptional. You can find anything from a basic tee to a dress fit for a wedding. The store is well organized and the owner is super friendly and very upfront about her consigning policies (which are very fair). I thought Salem would be a haul from Boston but it was actually a relatively quick and easy drive. Even if it takes you a while to get here, it is worth it.

I love this store!  I have never shopped in a consignment store EVER!  But I have to say the quality of clothing that this store has for re-sale is GREAT!  Stain free and a great varierty of styles and sizes.  Why pay full price for clothing that will only be used for a few months.  To me its such a waste.  I got about $1000.00 worth of clothes for $172.00 so WORTH IT!

Unfortunately, not impressed. I made the trek from Boston to Salem for a special trip. I've been very frustrated in the lack of stylish and work appropriate maternity clothes on the retail market. I thought I'd try my luck here. I get that it's a consignment shop, and the inventory I'm sure is constantly changing - it may be a hit or miss opportunity, but for me it was certainly a miss. Most of the inventory was low end - Old Navy, Motherhood, Target, etc. For a consignment shop, you'd think they'd have designer denim, Pea in the Pod, etc,. but not so much. Also, I'm a 4-6 and I found the inventory for small or medium sizes to be really limited. If I were an XL, there was actually a lot of inventory, but still not at the higher end you'd expect from a shop like this. A used Old Navy t-shirt isn't worth $15 to me, I'd just buy it new and get what I wanted.

If you're looking for simple basics, tees, jeans, capris, camp shirt type styles, you can make a maternity wardrobe work from here. If you're in a professional office environment or looking for a special event type outfit, you'll be disappointed.

This store is a great asset to Salem and the North shore.  The owner is really genuine and friendly, makes you feel very comfortable, and will help you as much as you like or just let you browse in peace (love that combination). The clothes are priced fairly and there is a really good selection.  Before you set out to buy brand new maternity clothes - highly suggest stopping by Mighty Aphropdite - you will be pleasantly surprised and your dollar will stretch a lot further for some really quality pieces.
