I've never been here for dinner, but the Happy Hour is a fantastic deal.  My fiancee and I split 3 or 4 apps, all of which were fantastic.  I highly recommend the crab hushpuppies.

Bartenders were very pleasant, and were quick to strike up a conversation with us.  All told, a nice place for a quite, low-key happy hour.

Silk Road inspired decor= 4 stars
    Food quality= 2 stars

The interior is pretty unique and makes you feel as though you've stepped back to the 14th century to accompany Marco Polo on one of his expeditions. Despite the lovely decor and seating, our food and drinks weren't anything to write home about. The concept of silk road meets Americana seemed intriguing. What you get is a hodgepodge of dishes that really don't seem to complement each other. We really enjoyed the lamb kabobs but the blackeye pea hummus was bland and unremarkable.

Definitely seems to be happening bar scene... just skip the food and you'll have a blast.

So a friend of mine invited me out for dinner....she kept raving about this hidden gem in Georgetown.  I reluctantly obliged and met her in Georgetown.  We roamed the streets and finally found the place....no reservations but were able to be seated with no wait. When we walked in we were lead upstairs to what seemed to be a setting for one of my old summer camp cafeterias.  I quickly asked the host if we could be seated down stairs.  After a few calls down stairs from her secret service ear piece....we were seated at a table across from the tent.  If you've been to Mie n Yu you know what I'm talking about......if you haven't you need to come just to see this thing.

I ordered a bottle of wine, but was told it was out......then I was given an option of ordering a Merlot but only by the glass.  I had the Chicken Lettuce wraps as an appetizer and Lamb Chops as a meal.  I don't remember what my date had but what ever it was she seemed to enjoy it. We arrived around 7:15 or so, at about 8, the place was packed! The food was enjoyable but not to die for.....and the service...well, I was always taught if you can't say something nice.......! Our bill totaled $130.00....a little expensive for a mediocre meal.  I did see a review touting the Happy Hour.....I'll try that and then get back to you, but for now 3 stars is all they get!

I went to Mie N Yu yesterday evening and ordered the three course chef special with some red wine. I was disappointed with the service--I would have expected a more formal/professional waiting staff at this price point. The food was decent, but didn't blow me away--again, I expect more at this price point. Also, the portions are very small, the three courses weren't a fulfilling dinner.

I had always been wanting to try this place since it seemed like a Georgetown icon to me, as far as restaurants go anyway. I finally got the opportunity and had a really nice time!

The hummus appetizer was delicious, and to me the perfect combo with my lamb dish. There's really not that much on the menu that appealed to me, though. I wish there were a few more options.

Our server was really attentive and sweet.

It's important to make a trip to the bathroom at this restaurant as well. You will see why.

Overall, I'm really glad I went. It's not some place I need to go back to often (given small menu and picky taste buds), but I think it's a cool place to see.

OK Yelp people you need to have  half a star option because honestly Mie N Yu does not deserve more than half a star...

Restaurant has a great location. That is the only positive thing about this place. Oh yeah and the decor is interesting. Silk curtains and a lot of cushions, A lot of cushions that i had to get rid of some of them by placing them on the floor to be able to sit!

Back to the food. Fried Oysters- the batter was bland and flavor-less. If they ran out of seasoning there is a whole foods nearby! Frankly, i do not think they ran out of seasonings but it is the quality of their food. Two of the six fried oysters didn't really have oysters in them. My main course was falafel crusted salmon on eggplant tomato jam.  What was the chef thinking when he created this dish and what was i am thinking when i ordered it. falafel and salmon- it tasted exactly as it sounds, total mismatch of flavors and the eggplant tomato jam -  i am not even going to start on that... I watched my friend fishing his Moroccan tea-cured duck-3-way from a pool of black eye peas n over-cooked veggies in a harissa broth.

It was interesting to watch the other customers eat their food, It was very obvious they were going through the same phases i went through. Wow nice decor, hmmm interesting flavors on the menu, i would like to try this dish, then with the first bite they realize- is this really happening... why is my warm salmon covered with a slab of hard falafel crust and why is their chunks of cold egg plant/tomato jam underneath it.???

If you want to enjoy the ambiance then i would recommend this place for a drink at their bar but if you want to have good food check the menu again...

It is hard to find parking in George town, i would recommend parking far away and walk to G.town. It is a beautiful walk .

I've been going to this place for a couple of years and it is consistently a fun place to spend your night. It has a moroccan / Asian fusion feel and the DJ's perch above the bar is awesome. They have an array of seating arrangements- at the bar, high tables, benches, couches, etc. They have the coolest bathrooms of any place I've ever been to. The music is good, the staff is cool. Kofe makes amazing cocktails; his Campari sour changed my life. It's definitely a place worth checking out.

Mie N Yu charges $20 for their fixed brunch menu.  It used to include a delicious bloody mary or mimosa.  No longer.  For restaurant week, they had the same menu but charged $.12 more.  Why?  The food was also not on par with my previous visits.  What a disappointment.  I will not be going back.

Mosquitos!  The atmosphere was nice and the food was ok, but it was hard to enjoy the evening when my friend and I were getting eaten by mosquitos under our table.  Not pleasant.

Aside from this, their tea selection was a nice way to end the evening.

This was the first place I got drinks in DC. I still remember the night clearly! Me and one of my close girlfriends from undergrad ran here after we both got off work and we were like still in work clothes. It was a nice enviornment- I didn't grab any food here, but the menu looked great! The drinks were great- and the atmosphere was trendy. I had a great time, however, I remember it being super dark and there weren't enough seats for us--- it was packed.  We had to stand at the bar the whole time, but we had a good time. It's a cute place to hop into and hop out of- I wouldn't stay here the whole night- but I would check it out for happy hours.

Come here for weekday happy hour. Seriously. Until 7pm, you get half off the sizable, yummy lounge menu and great drink specials. A friend and I went today and split a big order of hummus, chicken lettuce wraps (also huge, and nicely spicy), lamb kabobs, and an entire pitcher of sangria for an unreal bill of about $26.50.

On weekends and late nights, this place can be overcrowded. The regular menu is expensive for middle of the road Asian fusion. But at happy hour, there's not too much competition for seats or servers, and you get a fun, boozy meal in a pretty atmosphere for a Chipotle price.

    Disappointing.

I visited Mie N Yu last night for Restaurant Week, after many months of trotting past it and wondering what it was all about. I had heard of people making much of the fancy decor, and, while the curtains and cushions and lighting and colors were nice, I thought it was a little forced. If they would put as much effort into their food as they do the decor, they might have more satisfied customers.

First, my companion and I ordered drinks. He had a blend of Merlot and Malbec, and I had the sangria...which was WEAK and not even very tasty. Then we took a peek at the Restaurant Week dinner menu. They offered two choices for Course 1, two choices for Course 2, four choices for Course 3, and two choices for Course 4. Ugh. I do detest these limited RW menus. However, I can usually put together a decent meal for myself (a pescatarian) from the offerings. Unfortunately, both choices for Course 2 involved meat of which I was not willing to partake. When I brought this to the attention of the server, she suggested I just order the same thing again from Course 1. Uhh....I'm sure she's a nice girl who meant well, but there was no way the restaurant could try to offer an alternative...?

I simply decided to let my man-friend order both dishes for Course 2, which I skipped. Not the end of the world, but I would hope that such a "swanky" restaurant would strive to accommodate its customers.

I ended up ordering the hummus (dry, chalky, and looked like baby poop), the roasted salmon (tasteless), and the fruit cobbler (blah). My man ordered the salad (blah), the chicken skewers (he liked these), the lamb skewers (he didn't like these), and the chocolate cake (a tasteless brick).

I'm willing to give Mie N Yu another chance independent of their lackluster RW menu. Perhaps the chef had an off night.

My wife and I went to Mie N Yu last Friday and here is our review:

    Things we loved:
Decor- what a cool looking restaurant, we got a private booth so it was a great experience for us.
The Salad- oddly enough the salad was one of our favorite parts of the meal
The Drinks- I had the Smoke and Silk - it was really really good.  (I dont often pay 17 dollars for a drink, but this was worth it) My wife had a nice glass of wine.
The Service- We had a great waiter who was very attentive to our needs.
The Bathroom- Yes, the bathroom.  It was really really cool.

    Things that were close...
Food- We ordered grilled chicken skewers which were dry.  Separately, my dish came with rice on a hot plate.  By the end of the meal all of the rice which was touching the hot plate was burned an un-edible.
My wife ordered the scallops and was still hungry after eating them.
The eating time- It was a 2 hour "experience".  My attention span covers an hour and a half, those last 30 minutes were tough.

Overall a good experience.  If we could, we'd give it 3.5 stars.  The staff did a nice job of accommodating our needs and other than a few technical errors on the food, it was a quite nice experience.

Laura and I look forward to attending in the future and hope that others read this and are encouraged to go as well.

I went here on a date a couple years ago. It's a beautiful restaurant--decor is amazing. The servings are extremely small though. This is the type of place where you get an appetizer, entree, and dessert...and you're STILL starving, so you go home and eat real food. It's really expensive, too, considering it's anorexic portions. But for what I did get, it was super tasty! I had scallops for my main entree. Note: It's extremely loud here so if you're on a first date--don't go here unless you want to yell the entire time.

    **2011 RESTAURANT WEEK REVIEW**

I don't know why I chose to come to Mie N Yu for DC Restaurant Week. It's not like I didn't read all the reviews warning me about the mediocre food here. But still, it boasts Silk Road inspired cuisine. How exotic.

"ORIENTAL" THEME PARK SPRINKLED WITH GOSSIP GIRLS

Ok I admit. I was being vain. I just wanted to see the supposedly interesting decor as well as Georgetown preps and real-life Gossip Girls.

So I did. But don't get me wrong. There were plenty of regular folks. It was just that my boyfriend and I happened to sit in front of a table of really glamorous young girls. Let me guess, sorority sisters from a nearby college, yes?

Anyways, the decor shouts "Welcome to the Land of All Things Oriental!" Or, you know, something like that.

We sat in the "Tibetan Lounge" and the seating arrangement was a bit awkward; there were a bunch of pillows on the bench and I had to use about 3 of them to support my back. Plus our table was slightly tilted, forcing me to be super careful not to accidentally knock out our wine glasses.

I also checked out the "Turkish tent" next door, and it looked more comfortable and ergonomic, although the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

    FOOD=THE SPOKESPERSON FOR AVERAGE

I repeat, the spokesperson for average. And let's not blame the restaurant week. I can tell this place serves very average food even during normal weeks.

We tried the hummus, Thai chicken skewers and lamb kabobs for the 1 and 2 course; Indonesian chicken and Korean grilled beef for the main entrees; fruit cobbler and chocolate cake for dessert. And hey, the dessert was SO OBVIOUSLY the best part. Very sad.

But the meal was not the most disappointing part of the experience. It was the LONG, LONG, LONG wait time in between each course that was killing me. We literally had to wait 30 minutes for each course and it was a four-course meal. By the time we were done, it was passed midnight.

Again, let's not blame the restaurant week. I've been to many restaurants during restaurant weeks and I never had to wait THAT long.

That being said, our servers were pleasant and one of them was even a wine connoisseur type, and it was fun listening to him explaining the different bottles of wine available there.

    NOT IMPRESSED AND OVERPRICED

Overall, I was not impressed and felt like I spent an eternity there ending up unsatisfied and even exhausted.

A sincere piece of advice - if you really want to check this place out, try happy hour, so you don't invest too much and get your heart broken.

Tiny and cramped bar area and super tough to get a drink on Saturday night. The drinks were a little bit more on the expensive side. I do like the seating and table arrangements. There was hardly a dance floor.

What did it for me was the bathroom in this place! The bathroom is amazing and the attendant was really nice. I love the bamboo fountain and the bamboo-looking doors. Very tranquil and just a cool-looking place.

Mie and Yu is definitely a spot to check out for the interior decor alone.

Rich, colorful, curtain-ful, pillow-ful it boasts some of the most unique and distinctive private rooms in the city.

Here is a quick run down of the sights:

Hong Kong Bar - Chinese inspired and laden with lovely lanterns. this is the bar area on the first floor. Perfect area to hang during happy hour!

Turkish Tent - Lush, and draped in curtains seeded with silky pillows, this area is tucked away just off the main bar with plenty of space to lounge.

Moroccan Bazaar - This is the main dining area on the first floor. More drapes, plenty of tables with the golden Buddha to welcome you.

Venetian Bar and Lounge - Tick, tock, tons of clocks. Oh, and mirrors so you can get your "I'm too sexy" face on while some lame tries to get to know you. This area is located on the 2nd floor and is another area to get your drink on.

Baroque Room - This is one of my favorite rooms, filled with some of the most interesting, kingly, slightly fantastical, wooden chairs that looks like they are made from stoic drift wood.

The Bird Cage - One day I shall dine in this massive bird cage. But I ain't no bird! Plus, with a $500 minimum, I can wait.

Normally I would give Mie and Yu a 3.5 or so, but just the novelty of the restaurant alone rounds it up to a 4 star experience.

Go for drinks and you're guaranteed to have a pretty laid back, enjoyable time.

I've often walked by this place and always wanted to stop in... well my wait is over!  I wasn't sure how crowded it would be since we didn't have a reservation... it was about 6:30 on a Friday night..  but we got seated right away.  It wasn't very crowded and the service was a little slow but nothing too terrible.

The ambiance is definitely different...  maybe they wouldn't charge so much on their dishes if they didn't buy so many throw pillows...

The meals are expensive... yeah, yeah, it's Georgetown.  But I didn't think it was that worth the money.  The food was good and all but it wasn't to die for.

We started with the duck wraps.  I loved these.  Put hoisin sauce on just about anything and I'm a fan.  I probably could have eaten 5 of these and left happy.

I had the morrocan beef.  It came with several pieces of meat and I don't know if it's because they were all different sizes, but some of the pieces were overcooked and dry.  The first piece I started with was PERFECT, but then the second piece I tried didn't have the same melt in your mouth texture.

He had the lamb skewers.  Got to try a piece... not bad, but I liked mine better :)

I think I'd try it again maybe if I had a big group.  It seems like a good place to go with a group because of the big, fun looking group tables.  However, I'd make sure to leave my cheap friends at home because this place isn't cheap, yo.

Holy Sangria - you pack a punch! I have been to Mei & Yu twice and during my last visit I opted to share a half pitcher of sangria and that was the beginning of the end. Delicious and strong.

Besides a great drink menu and an awesome happy hour Mei & Yu also has a gluten free and a vegetarian menu in addition to the standard menu. If you have special diet needs - this is a place to visit. One of the bartenders happens to be celiac so she is really helpful when ordering dishes.

The hummus dish is pretty good and huge! The vegetarian fried rice on the other hand is terrible. Too greasy and no flavor.

I will continue to visit Mei & Yu for the great atmosphere, drinks and happy hour menu. I wouldn't come here for dinner though.

BUT... the food? the food PRICES? not worth it. at all.

Sorry I was out shopping and decided to stop in wearing my jeans, sandals, and a blouse, I didn't know I was supposed to wear a dress or tuxedo idiots.. I gave this place 3 stars just because the food is ok. Service is terrible maybe you should try giving customers good service rather than sticking your noses up so high in the air it might never come down.. Just a thought. On the other hand the decor here is really beautiful it's about the only real good thing this place has going for it..

Hmm I just wasn't that impressed. The ambiance was nice, but since we did not have a reservation we sat at the less than flattering bar upstairs (minus the ambiance).

I just feel this place needs a major overhaul. This is supposed to be a THEME RESTAURANT, and It was not exciting at all. When I was looking at the website I just expected to walk into the dark sultry Arabian Nights, hell where's the fortuneteller, I need accents, the smell of frankincense and myrrh, a stuffed camel sh*t somethin'?! Oh and about my pitiful meal.

I ordered a lamb dish, that poor lamb was so dry I could've mistaken it for a beef jerky. The rice was not the best of quality, seemed like some day old rice that they reheated and served.

Now the bartender was very cool! He took to my friend and I right away with the NCAA games on, the two of them were right at home. He told us about his glory days as an athlete and how he worked his way from bouncing at the door to bar tending.

I had the Kiss which was the bartender's suggestion over my French martini. It was pretty good a mixture of cranberry juice, raspberry absolute, pineapple juice, and sparkling wine. (yawn)

The belly dancer came up to shake her moneymaker-- after her gyrations by the bar she was on to the private dining rooms.

Let's just say the cool bartender that was hooking us up earned them their last star.

Ummmm - LOVE IT!! The decor is to die for and the minute you walk in you are transformed into the Mediterranean! There are massive tents and flowing canopies everywhere and even a really cool bird cage (sits a group of 6 ish). My hubby threw a surprise party for me here and I walked into a private room with 20 of my closest friends. Pillows were thrown all around, gorgeous bench seating with rich purples and blues and oranges, and just a very comfortable area to hang with friends. It was amazing!

The wait staff was incredible and on their game. The food was so rich and flavorful! We all ordered plates and shared them at each table. I don't think anyone was disappointed.

So here is a run down of what we shared::
Hummus, Thai Green Salad, Spicy Tuna, Scallops, Crab Hushpuppies, Calamari, Lamb Kabobs, Bulgogi, Roasted Root Vegetables and Edamame.

Seriously, not one complaint on the food, it was extraordinary! I saw lots of friends with variations of drinks and we all shared some interesting ones too. Again, no complaints.

Check out Mie N Yu for the ambiance and stay for the food and experience. It's well worth it!

I went here with a group of girls and had a great time.  The ambience was 5 stars.  Really really great and unique.  Reminiscent of travels in southeast asia.
The service was fantastic.  We did not wait long at all for drinks or for food.  Very prompt!
I liked that they had a non-alcoholic mojito on the menu.  Delicious!
Food was great.  The duck spring rolls were phenomenal!

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of  5 was because of the prices of the entrees in relation to the amount of food served.  $30 for two crab cakes  is a little steep.  Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals though, and the presentations were beautiful.  Just expect to spend a lot of money to actually get full.  Or eat a lot of hummus and bread first!

The bathroom has really really cool decor, but I didn't like the presence of the server there to pump your soap, turn on and off the water, etc... waiting for a tip.  Just let me be in peace!  I can do it myself. Honest.

Very cool for groups, dates, or the bar area looked nice for just hanging out and mingling.

I would definitely go back for dinner or to be social at the bar.

I'm a little bit on the shelf about Mie N Yu. The environment and food is great but this place is shi shi and I'm just not in the mood for uppity staff on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

For brunch, you can't go wrong with the $20 Brunch Prix Fixe. My top picks are the Good Morning Sunshine, Korean Bulgogi Sandwich and Crispy Coconut Rice Pudding. I was surprised however that they've recently changed the Prix Fixe brunch menu and the price no longer includes your choice of a mimosa or Bloody Mary--cheap move for a place that wants to portray itself as upscale.

They often have a Living Social deal--$25 worth of food for only $15--so check that out before you go to save a few bucks.

I have arranged two work happy hours here and now it's become the office watering hole!  The lounge menu is great and, omg, 50% during happy hour!  My team loved the hummus- it tastes like it has pesto in it- and the Mie n Yu burger is piping hot and smothered in cheese and bacon.  The service is really, really good.  Both times our happy hour had 13+ people and the bartenders were quick, friendly, and very fast.

Happy hour is exclusively in the Hong Kong lounge but both times when we arrived at 5pm and there were plenty of tables.  There is also some window seating with small tables and stools and the bar itself also has plenty of seating.

I don't think I would come here for dinner, however, as their prices are a bit too high for me.  But the dining room is gorgeous and it looks like a pretty cool experience.

Mie n Yu is located at the heart of Georgetown, which may help to explain the loud price tag attached to the food.  However, with that said, the drinks are delish and I have to say, I didn't hate my food.

This joint prides itself in its decor which mirrors the travels of an early explorer and guides a path of uniquely decorated dining areas.  We were in the far back corner that was explained as morrocan inspired.  To start I got a drink at the bar called the French Kiss, which was absolutely delish!!  For appetizers we got the mussels, which were well seasoned, but small in comparison to most places I have dined.  For entre I got the steak and my fiance had the Bulgogi.  The steak was good, but the bulgogi was definitely not worth what we paid.

There were no standouts in my meal, but the ambience and food made sense.  May be worth a trip back, but only for the drinks!

    *sip*slurp*gulp* mmmmMMMMMM.

MNY has some damn good drinks.  this is the kind of place to sit & sip while you take it all in and chat with friends, but also easily the place you may find yourself 3 sheets to the wind b/c the drinks are so freaking fantastic you just order more and more and still more.  just thinking about it makes me want one now.  at lunchtime on a wednesday.

get the cocktail made with blood orange juice.  i don't remember the name but holy mother of citrus, it's awesome.  the white tiger, buddha blues and taj mojito are great too.  all the drinks are great.  i mean, i hate gin and yet i let one of the bartenders convince me to try a gin-based drink and sure enough, it was great.  drinks are actually all i've had here, so i can't comment on the food.

the atmosphere is pretty nice, and diverse for georgetown.  the space is colorful and exotic in design, almost sensory overload, but not quite.  the people range from chill to snobbish (again, this is georgetown).  the staff are all very nice in my experience - totally professional yet friendly.  it's a great spot for HH or late night drinks (and for dining from what i hear).  i'll go back again and again, and eventually eat something too.

A decent place to take a first date given the great decor and tasty cocktail list, unless the date is with a foody.

Although the service is strong and presentation of deliverables is good, the food itself falls flat in taste. I agree with Tara L.'s review in that this is an excellent place to enjoy crafty drinks while taking in the restaurant's fanciful decor.

Bottom line: Come before or after dinner, not during.

I have walked by this place about a million times and have always wanted to try it.  I finally did last weekend, and when I took out-of-town guests here, we all loved it.  The decor is amazing, the food is outstanding, and the service was top-notch.  They also have a gluten-free menu for all you Celiac diners :)

    Recommendations:
-the pomegrante lemonade (a mocktail) is not to be missed if you're looking for something sweet
-mint & rocket hummus is a new twist to an old favorite
-the steak "frites" was grilled to perfection and the pomegranate glaze and madras curry mustard dipping sauce made this dish a stand out

We sat in the Turkish tent, which was very comfortable and quiet enough to have a conversation without having to shout.  Definitely an expensive meal (hey, good food ain't cheap) but a reservation through VillageVines can knock 30% off your total bill.

The ambiance is nice and cozy here, however, my ratings are based on food... and that wasn't very good. Started off with lamb kabobs, and tried the hush puppies. Then for the main course, we split the crabcakes, Lamb Qaubil and steak frites. The kabobs weren't anything special and I probably wouldn't get the hush puppies if I were to come back. Out of the main course items, the crabcakes were the best in my opinion. Came with veggies and this red salsa type side that was pretty good too. The lamb skewers were really chewy, and the rice had an odd taste to it. The sauce they used for it wasn't great either. The steak frites was probably the worst dish we ordered. Without the sauce, it was really plain. However, with the sauce, there was more taste, but the sauce had a bad taste to it... I'm not sure whether it was better with or without, haha. I started dipping it in my friend's sauce that came with her chicken, made things better...

Service was good, beers are DC priced, and the decor was unique in a good way. (I only summarized those bc they are not as important as the food taste/quality).

One of THE funkiest interiors in DC. Plus, I took some of my favorite photographs of my girlfriend using the richly designed spaces as backdrops. Good memories all around for me at Mie N Yu!

Have you ever been disappointed when you return to a restaurant you loved to discover it has become a tourist trap?  Welcome to Mie N Yu.  The hostess was rude and curt to all four people in my party.  We arrived separately.  The untraditional unisex bathroom space was unkempt and smelled like mold and urine.  Our waitress was inattentive and not friendly.  Is the food good?  Yes... but just good, not great which is the only reason I can fathom why the doors have not been slammed shut for good.  The interesting decor and food should keep tourists and one-hit diners coming, but die hard foodies should avoid at all costs.

Depending on what you order, the food here, is pretty much bland.
However, they have a nice bar with really good drinks.

This place has very unique decor. Each room has a different theme.
Overall, my experience was pretty good. I just expected the food to be better.

I'll update. There's more food I would like to try that I think might change my perception of this restaraunt.

My friend and I decided to have an early dinner at Mie N Yu one evening. We entered the restaurant and approached the hostess stand. The hostess was having a conversation on the telephone and was giving us no eye contact. At this point, my instincts were telling me to just walk out, but I sucked it up and waited.

After a few minutes, the hostess finally ended her call and acknowledged my friend and me. We told her that we needed a table for two. She asked if we had reservations and we told her we did not. She looked as if she was doing us a favor when she told us she may have something available upstairs.

We were ushered upstairs to a desolate corner of the restaurant. I had an instant recall of that Halle Berry commercial where she walks into a restaurant and is immediately escorted to the worst seat in the house. There was only one other group seated upstairs and it was much too quiet for us, so we asked to be moved to a table on the first floor, which had a nicer ambiance and more people.

Once we were finally seated, our waiter approached our table. He was very personable, which helped us to quickly put aside the two slights that we had experienced upon walking into the restaurant. We ordered a variety of dishes upon the recommendation of our waiter. They were all ok, but none of them knocked my socks off.

My friend and I were glad we decided to try a new restaurant, but we won't be going back to Mie N Yu.

This is a fun, funky place to come for lunch, but the food is only so-so. In all respect and fairness to the kitchen staff, everything was well prepared, but I think what I ordered just simply wasn't to my personal taste. I would definitely go back and try again though!

I haven't ate at Mie N Yu in over a year so decided to check it out again with some friends who have never been there. The bar scene is still the top attraction of this place but I've always been intrigued by The Birdcage and it's special menu but not sure I want to commit to the minimum cost of $500 for it.

Highlights: They have both a gluten free and vegetarian only menu which is available upon request. The new bartender has made some very creative drinks including one based on beer.

The food is better than i remember but still overpriced. I think the duck wraps were very tasty and reasonable priced at $8. The Korean Bulgogi was good but definitely not worth the price. Most entrées are around $30 with some pushing $40. I would probably go back if it was cheaper but can't justify the cost for the quality.
