I just happened to walk in here with a friend. We were west--towners desperately looking for a pint pre-movie at Landmark. Nice little establishment. Friendly bartender and decent selection on tap. The freshest pint of Harp i've ever had. Calm and comfortable, nice little pony pool table. It was a homey locals dive. I like it.

I used to live right down the street and I hated this place.  I guess hate is a strong word, but I did dislike it quite a bit.  It is a dive bar, but you can tell before you enter so it is my own fault for giving them a chance.  I had a burger- which is rare because I hardly ever order burgers.  Even though I don't eat them much, I know the difference between a good burger and a bad burger and this one was an awful burger.  The friend I had dining with me is a burger connoisseur and she agreed that it was god awful.  I generally like my burgers cooked medium and this one was supposed to be medium, but instead it tasted like what I would imagine a burger would taste like after sitting around for a few days.   Chewy and flavorless.  For the first burger I had eaten in months, it was a huge disappointment.

I cannot knock this place completely, because they do have the "Bring Your Own Steak" night which seems like a good idea in theory.  However, if the guy cooking my steak is the same guy that cooked my burger, I'll pass.  Go to Yango's next door instead.  You will get one-of-a-kind customer service from Yango himself and will be spared the chewy dog biscuit of a burger I ate.

BYOS (bring your own steak) on Tuesdays.
fries and a salad inclusive for 3 bucks.
it's a total dive, and they have a pool table.
for someone who does not have a grill, i'm all about showing up with a raw steak in hand.

Nice neighborhood bar and the eats aren't that bad either.  I had a burger and fries.  The burger was okay not really anything to get excited about but the fries were amazing.  Little crunchies of goodness! Yum!  My dining companion had a chicken ceasar salad.  It was also yummy!  I think it was a whole head of lettuce! The chicken was a little dry but the yummy ceasar dressing made up for that.  It was artfully laid out of the plate as well.

Drinks seemed on the cheap side and the bartender was attentive but not overly pushy.  My dining partner thought she was great because when he ordered a lite beer and they didn't have it she didn't offer another lite beer in its place.  Apparently that's a no no so ladies don't do that!

It was a clean bar and well lit.  Everyone seemed friendly and the bar had many things going on with all of the tvs so you could pick from a variety of shows to watch.

Mickey's is one of the things I miss most about living in Lakeview.  They had a Bring Your Own Steak night.  The beer and food was good and cheap.  The crowd was just the right mix of young neighborhood residents and old amicable drunks.

I miss Mickey's, and hit it up whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

Great little bar. Decent jukebox, and the staff is super friendly. You can hear yourself think in here, unless you go on a weekend. Good food and very cheap.

Went out here Friday - looking for something different.  Bartender (John) very friendly, good service.  Had a few (4) Beam & Diet Cokes - couple of shots.  All in all, it was a good time.  When leaving John asked if I wanted a shot for the road (who can say no to that?).

Biggest thing we are looking for in a bar is cool people to hang with, and meet new people.  Looks like there were a lot of 'clicks' here, but it was my first time.

I would definitely return here (maybe this Friday?).

When I lived in Lakeview Mickey's was the BEST local bar. Period. It's a no frills pub in the heart of tony high priced umbrella drink bars. It's a bar's BAR where locals congregate and have their usual, the crowd is as diversified as any I've seen and you always felt comfortable. The jukebox rocks and I always had run of the picks to no one's complaint. Randy, Sarah and the bartenders and waitresses are the epitomy of the coolest waitstaff anywhere and if you tipped them well they always ALWAYS took care of you. God I miss Mickey's!  Great place to start a night out or if you want to hole up in a "dive" bar and commiserate the night away without the seediness Mickey's is your bar.

Wait, this is a dive bar says Maria C.? I totally didn't get that vibe at all nor did I think it was the best in the world. Maybe this is more of a dive for Chicago? I have no clue, but being forged in the fires of NYC... This place was clean and didn't have your usual weird looking regulars and young people out for a quick fix that you get in New York dives.

This place seemed like a nice little place to grab some grub and watch the  games. Cheap drinks, but that seemed to be a theme when I visited my homeland of Chicago (moved to New York well before drinking age.)  I also liked how the bar was in the center and wrapped around, so it'd be harder to be  completely shut out if the place gets busy (it was nearly empty when I went.)

If I lived in the area, I'd probably come back. I

One dinner, 6 mixed drinks...all for a grand total of $31 makes me an instant fan. My friend called this place a dive, but I really didn't think it was dive-y, just a nice neighborhood place to grab a quick, greasy dinner and a drink (or 6) with friends. The waitress was really nice and kept our drinks filled. The food is typical bar food...nothing really stood out about it, good or bad. There's a small patio to sit outside, although we decided to park ourselves inside, so I can't tell much about it. I would give 4 stars, but I'm knocking it down to 3 because it was super smokey, even for a bar. I'll definitely be back since (1) it's in the neighborhood and (2) it's pretty cheap.

The is the bestest dive in all de world....

Great place for food, booze, pool, ah what the hell jukebox too...

They always have really great drink prices,

Fri and Sat. they have $10 pitchers of Miller and $2.50 well drinks.

Try the corn dogs.  I haven't had one of those in years and was completely satisfied.  I know that my friend is hooked on the chicken fingers so try them too...

BYOS = Bring Your Own Steak!
This awesome dive bar on Broadway has BYOS nights every Tuesday. You bring in your own piece of meat and for $3 they cook it to your liking and throw in fries. For a few cents more you can upgrade to a baked potato (or twice baked).  Also on Tuesdays they have all draft beers for $3. We went here last night and the food was great...steak cooked as ordered and a free salad to boot.

Note: One server for the whole floor...service was slow. BUT she was nice enough to split up our bill.

LOVE Mickey's. The servers are the friendlist people on earth (especially of the bars in that area). The food is awesome. The drinks are cheap. And they keep 'em coming quick! Great place to hang out with friends after work.

this is my dive...when I tire of my other dives..(see, cesar's, duke of perth, ave tav, etc.) Mickey's makes a mean burger and fries and if you're in search of some deep friend lovin'..look no further..Mickey's will ensure you walk out with a heart ache. Great place to grab a pitcher or two, play darts and pool and just hang out.

Not to be confused with Mickey's a little further down on Clark Street, this Mickey's is a fun, chill place to grab a brew with pals.  The staff is very cool & the bar food is fried goodness.

Leave your cigs at home cause you'll get the black lung after just a few minutes in this place.  It's a true dive bar so if that's what you're looking for then you've got it.  I like the cheap beer, outdoor seating, and friendly waitresses.

Mickey's is right next to my apartment and is the perfect place if I just want to do something low key and not far from home. They have pretty good sandwiches. It's not very big and only holds one pool table and one dart board...but as a bonus there is a little outdoor area that is great during the summer. If you live in this area, it is a great little neighborhood bar to check out.

Mickey's rules!!  This is the quintessential dive bar home away from home for me.  Good drink specials nightly along with a stellar staff make this a great place to kill hours at a time.  The jukebox is loaded with fun hits.  Old school Chicago regulars also provide laughs.  All it needs is a megatouch machine and I would move in.

Great dive bar.

Friday nights $3 pitcher,

awesome waitress that constantly empties your ashtray, and brings you new pitcher, (she's really great.. always on top of shit),

not very crowded at all,

but please, to the people who play pool there sometimes, PLEASE STOP POKING MY BACK WITH THE CUE!!!!
AND TELL ME TO MOVE JUST SO YOU CAN MISS YOUR BALL!

If you can't hit something without poking someone, CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BALL, OR DIFFERENT ANGLE!

I went here 'cos someone recommended their burgers.  There was nothing special about the burgers, but we got great service from the waitress.  I don't frequent dive bars: I've forgotten what it was like to come home smelling of cigarette smoke.  If you are allergic to smoke please avoid this place.  The smell is attached to the dated decor like a house posessed by demons. If you want a burger, go two doors down to Yangos.  If you are going for a drink, well, it doesn't really matter, you'll be oblivious to your surroundings soon enough.

I just tried to go there the other day, and we waited forever for a table outside.  Then, the waitress didn't come over for a long time, so we left.  Although it does have a great patio, the service is terrible and the food is okay.  I feel like its one of the few places in its area that has such a large patio and that's why its always crowded. To top it off, its an Ohio State. We Michigan fans, do not like Ohio State Fans!

This Lakeview bar on Broadway is a very unassuming place to have a beer or two. It is basically a sports bar with a pool table, but the crowds in here do not seem too overwhelming. I only had a Guinness here, but the burgers looked like vertical stacks of goodness so check 'em out if you are really hungry.

A great neighborhood bar! The crowd is diverse, with a lot of regulars but it is always inviting to anyone walking by. Great bar food and good strong drinks make this a spot I visit frequently. Well priced beer specials served in the icy-est coldest mugs in Chicago.

A dive bar at its best!  Mickey's is usually filled with a handful of older regulars and punctuated with 20-somethings.  One pool table in the center and a small outside patio area make for a fun, low-key night.  The drinks are strong and cheap for Chicago, plus the bartenders and servers are VERY nice and friendly.  This was the first bar I went into alone and I never had to worry about feeling out of place.  The food is pretty good, too, considering it's mostly deep fried, but they'll do just about anything they can to keep you happy -- just ask!

Went here for the first time with a couple of friends and it is a fun place for sure.  Parking in Lakeview always sucks so it lost a star for that.  Otherwise, the drinks are poured well, the jukebox is full of old rock and the people in the bar are very, very entertaining.

This is a great neighborhood bar with cheap food and drinks. They have some great oldies on the jukebox and the staff is very warm and friendly. The burgers are great and juicy, and the french fries are crispy and delicious. It's a great place to kick back with your friends and have a good time.

The atmosphere is good and they have door that can be opened when it's temperate but the food was subpar. I was surprised at the price when I saw the check. My husband and I tried the friend olives as an appetizer and they were okay. The fish sandwich made my stomach feel queasy and they burger was just "alright".
