Wow, this place is a goldmine, esp on Saturdays when normal private practices are closed.  My husband and I owe our fellow yelpers a big 'thank you"!  The wait was about 1/2 hr.,  and everyone from the doctor to the staff apologized for the busy day.  We were obviously both amazed and impressed by the bedside manner.
The whole process was pretty painless, and we left with the necessary prescriptions...couldn't have asked for a better experience.  I would never leave my current doctor (see Dr. Suh), but this is certainly a great alternative when you need immediate service on non-business days.

Thanks to some nice little waiting room renovations, I can't complain about this place at all. I've been here probably four or five times in the past nine months, and I have absolutely no complaints.

Most of my visits have been with Dr. Abler, who is incredibly friendly and insistent on making sure you recover fully. I've made two trips this week because of sinus/bronchial issues, and she went so far as to suggest chest x-rays, just to be sure. I appreciated her extra effort, and the extra wait time in the patients' room didn't irk me one bit.

And a neat extra? They offer you Gatorade or water while you're waiting in the patients' room. How many doctors offices do that for you!? Add to that that the staff and nurses are incredibly friendly and patient, and I almost prefer this facility over my regular doctor's office.

They're quick, clean, friendly, and free Gatorade/water? Can't go wrong there!

This place is affordable and convenient. The doctors made a huge effort to follow-up with me and I could call at any time for advice or future problems. The bad part is the wait. I swear I waited over 45 minutes once in the room. It was worth it, they work with you on price and seem to be competent. I didn't like that they practically forced me to go see a specialist, I went to the urgent care place because I don't have insurance- I sure can't afford a visit to a specialist.
Overall, great experience.

Just walk in, don't need to wait for 1 or maybe 2 weeks, quite clean, very friendly, just a perfect clinic for students on non-emergency.

this place is amazing. the staff were incredibly friendly and the visit took less than an hour from filling out paperwork to paying for services. I was incredibly impressed by the professionalism of staff and the thoroughness of the visit given the brief time frame. the doctor even made small talk with me and they offer discounts for people without insurance.  if you are in a  jam, this place is great!

I thought the staff here was highly incompetant. I went in because my shunt was malfunctioning. My vision was blurred and my balance was off, not to mention a practically blinding headache. They recommended i get a CT scan and perscribed me migrane medication, which  is NOT what I needed. I told them i was in blinding pain almost all the time, but they still told me I should wait and get a CT Scan. Once i got it done, they looked at it, they said it wasn't obvious that my shunt was malfunctioning. They recommended i see a neurosurgeon and a neurologist, which I couldn't get an appointment for 3 weeks. I ended up going to the REAL Emergency room a few days later and had surgery to fix the problem and felt a lot better. Coming here is a waste of time if something is actually wrong with you.

I went here today for a bad cough- turns out I have the flu. There were 4-5 people in front of me and my wait time was still less than 30 minutes. The receptionists were friendly and the doctor was great. The best part was that as a non insured student I got a great discount- my visit cost 90.00 as opposed to the normal price of 150.00. The doctor prescribed a cough medicine and I am already feeling better!

I've been here twice in the last month and I highly recommend it to students in the area.  Especially because Columbia's health center is so horrible.  Because of my insurance I only have to cover the 20 dollar co-pay, but for not having a doctor in the city, it would be worth it even if I had to pay full price.  I had bronchitis and a sinus infection and I pretty much wanted to die.  I got new inhalers for my asthma and bronchitis and  a prescription for azithromycin, and I feel better now than I have in like a month.  The doctors and staff I've encountered have all been very pleasant and thorough and until I find myself a doctor, I will continue to come to these nice people.

So, after a week and a half of coughing to the point of hocking up a lung, I finally admitted that I needed meds and a doctor's visit. Since I still don't have a primary care physician, I figured that immediate care was the next best thing. I got in early and waited no time at all. I got through the paperwork and into an exam room within ten minutes. The staff was extremely friendly and made the experience much easier when you don't feel well. Dr. Baptiste was really cool and thorough with the exam. She prescribed some meds and I was on my way to work with some scripts in all of 30-40 minute span. I received great care there and would go back when a regular doctor is unavailable.

I came in for an eye that's been bothering me pretty much for a year now. The doctor was a little curt...i think it was his way of being funny. Maybe it was just that I was his last patient of the day and he couldn't believe I hadn't come in in a little over a year for an eye issue. Anyway he was through and didn't just throw meds at the problem without knowing what it was. He referred me over to University Eye Specialists which may be my next review.

The staff was super friendly as well as quick and efficent. Great place over-all and I would come in again.

I stopped by MAIC this morning to get my persistent cough checked out.  I don't have a primary care doctor, and after a weekend of me wheezing every five seconds, my boyfriend took my hand and said (very lovingly), "Please get your germ-y ass to the doctor TOMORROW."  Luckily, he's cute, so he can get away with that ;)

I stopped in around 10 after 8, filled in a few forms, waited a few minutes, and then was in to see a doctor around 8:25.  I had a chest x-ray, a breathing test, a general examination, and was on my way in about an hour, shiny new prescription for an inhaler in hand.  The staff was friendly and professional, and the doctor I saw was very personable and explained everything to me.  It was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I cannot say how much I love this place.  As a student, I haven't really found a doctor in the city and could usually get away with going to my school's health center for everything..until one day.

I woke up and my eye was painful and red, it was disgusting.  I won't go into any details other than to say that my school's health center shuffled me around, saying I should go to an emergency eye clinic.  As the daughter of a nurse and pharmacist, I didn't think it was quite that serious, so I called Michigan Ave. Immediate Care and they got me in and out in 20 minutes with a prescription for eye drops and an internal antibiotic.  I have been there probably three times total and have been nothing short of extremely pleased each time!

Doctors, nurses, receptionists, everyone is friendly and welcoming.  Also, they take basically every insurance under the planet which is great too.

I love this place!

Last week, I had a terrible sore throat. My primary care Dr. is not downtown, so I wasn't jazzed about having to make an appointment and trek out there in the January cold when I wasn't feeling well. A friend told me about this place downtown and it seemed like a good idea.

I went first thing in the morning, and waited for maybe 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly. I met with a resident (I'm asssuming) doctor first who took all my vitals- I told her that I was fairly certain that I had strep. She gave me the strep test and I waited for the Dr. for about 10 minutes. When Dr. Ajluni came in, he was really cool- told me that my suspicions were correct that I did indeed have strep and prescribed some antibiotics. I paid my co-pay and was on the way to the pharmacy less than an hour after I got there.

If you work in the Loop- this place is ideal. Wish I would have known about it sooner!

So I have a regular doctor that I love (Dr. Hubka) but she's an OBGYN and doesn't have the most convenient hours.  They're only open Tuesday through Thursday.  So when I got a sinus infection on Friday and knew I had no way to get drugs to fix it until Tuesday I cried.  Seriously, I was that miserable.

Someone at work suggested this new service at Walgreen's that employs a nurse practitioner (who can write prescriptions) to see you for non-urgent stuff.  I went in and she told me flat out no drugs unless I had been sick 7 - 10 days.  I left, and cried again.  My head was ready to explode from pressure.

So I go back to work and call my old doctor in NY asking what I should do (secretly hoping she'd take pity on me by writing me a script for antibiotics).  Of course she's not there and I get her nurse.  She tells me to try an after hours care place.

I search Yelp for doctors in the loop and find these people.  Not too far from my office and I'm willing to try anything at this point.  I call and they tell me that they take insurance so I'm off.  It was a Friday evening so there were a lot of people there but the wait wasn't too long.  Staff was really friendly too.

They take me in to see the doctor and the nurse does her thing, again very nice and sees how crappy I feel (as opposed to the Walgreen's chick).  The doctor comes in and does her thing.  She also doesn't chastise me for having allergies and still owning bunnies which is a nice touch.  And the most important thing: she gave me antibiotics!  Finally someone who was willing to cure me!

So yeah it's only been a day so the drugs haven't had time to actually cure me, but I know I'll feel better tomorrow.  These people are life savers.  There was no way I could have waited until Tuesday to see my doctor in this condition.  They helped that day and were nice and professional about the whole thing.  I'd go back in I needed it.

I have been here twice.  I walked in for the first time, got through the paperwork and was seeing the doctor in less than 10 minutes.  In fact, he was in before the assistant even finished my vitals.  The second time, I had only a quick Returning-Patient form and had a doctor in less than 5.

I was very impressed with the thoroughness of the care I received here.  Before writing off my diagnosis as "the flu," they ran two tests and did a chest x-ray, which is more than my primary physician usually would bother to do.

Not all the rooms have computers for patients to use.  Also, the bathroom (which is shared by the entire floor) is gross & smells like smoke.

Everyone was very friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs, which always makes a medical visit more palatable.  Also (please forgive me if this comes across as culturally insensitive) I have been to quick-care centers in the past where the majority of employees had very strong accents that were hard to understand, or they spoke so quickly that I didn't really grasp what they were telling me.  That was definitely not the case here.  Not everyone was white, but everyone was perfectly fluent and articulate.

It's in a great location if you work in the Loop, too.

The other week, my dumb ass decided to bite a hangnail. The next day, I woke up with a gigantically swollen finger and figured something was horribly wrong. As I don't have a regular doctor in the city yet, I figured a quick in-and-out urgent care place would be the way to go. Holy crap, I was so right.

For one, this place is in my insurance network, which makes me automatically love it. For two, I was in the waiting room for no more than 20 minutes, and when I got to the exam room, they have a computer set up exclusively for patients to surf the 'net. For three, Dr. Gong is really personable and awesome.

Very friendly staff, clean facility and nice waiting area.  I did have to wait for quite a bit to be seen (due to someone severely bleeding that came in right after me).  Thankfully they have a great variety of magazines... not just golf weekly...AND I spent most of my waiting time in a private room sans germs.

An important thing to note is they do have xray machines and blood work facilities on-site.  They also gave me the names of some recommended orthopedic doctors just in case.

I will definitely be coming back here during work hours if an emergency arises again.

Medical issue in Chi-town?

Go here!

I think this is the first time in my life that I have been "wowed" by a visit to the doctor's office.

The doctor I saw was just fabulous; she explained my options (the issue was an infected finger), and I felt like I actually had a say in the treatment plan.  She was also, incidentally, smokin' hot.  Maybe that's a weird thing to mention, but I've never been to a beauty-queen-like doctor before.

The receptionist was totally kind and professional as well, and the cost of the visit was quite reasonable, and my wait was minimal, even though I was there over the lunch hour.

Oh yes, and extra points for the lovely Degas coffee-table book in the waiting area.  Much better than moldy 8-month-old magazines.

I love you, Michigan Ave. Immediate Care!

I've had this really crazy sore throat for the past week, I don't have a regular doctor in Chicago yet, so I searched for an urgent care center. The Michigan Ave Immediate Care Center was the most convenient to work and home. I called this morning to see if I could make an appointment, and the lady said to just come in and it wouldn't be longer than a 30 min. wait. She was right! The paperwork was very short and easy, and I was in the exam room within 25 min. Everybody was absolutely great; the reception guy, the nurse and Sonya the doctor. I was quickly diagnosed and had to give a blood sample to check for mono. I normally get terribly light-headed when having blood drawn, but I didn't experience this one bit. I really was blown away.

The icing on the cake was the examination room. It was very spacious compared to the rest of the facility. There were awesome framed vintage ads on the walls AND...the best part...are you ready for this? They had a desk with a computer in the exam room that had a sign next to it that read "Please feel free to use the internet while you are waiting for the doctor." WOW. I would have checked my email or something but the doctor was in the room super quick, so I was out in a jiffy. I will definitely go back here and recommend it to anybody who needs to see a doctor asap!

I went there yesterday and was blown away with how friendly the staff was.
After filling out some paperwork and only about 15 minutes of waiting, I was called to the exam room. The doctor confirmed that I have strep throat and to make sure that nothing else is wrong (as I've had a fever for 3 days straight now and a bad rash) they took some blood and sent me home with my prescriptions and told me to come back if my condition should get any worse.
I will definitely come again!

I would recommend this clinic to anyone without a regular doctor in Chicago. Everyone is extraordinarily friendly and efficient, and it's easy to get to via public transportation. If you are without health insurance, you'll find their fees to be quite reasonable and they'll work with you regarding payments and lab work.

I've usually had quite a wait before seeing a doctor, but that has more to do with me showing up during "peak" hours than any deficiency in the clinic. The waiting room has a good selection of magazines if you didn't bring a book!

If you need some place quick, you don't need an appointment just walk in and they can take most insurance companies. Plus they can take an x-ray there w/o going to the ER so it is much cheaper than the ER too. They are a full service clinic, but since no appointment is needed you might have to wait if you go during peak hours, i.e. during the lunch hours since many people go on their lunch break.

Oh and Tell Dr. Gong that Mandee form MBI sent you ;-)

so i liked this place but not as much as other reviewers. i'd definately go back but unlike other reviewers who got in right away, i had to wait and wait and wait. i was there for a total of 2.5 hours, and i'd say 1.5 hours was spent waiting. luckily i had a book in my purse to read. but they did have plenty of reading material in the waiting room. i guess there were only 2 doctors when i was there because the other one was sick or something and the doctor i saw, who was really nice and as attentive as possible while handling 3 patients at one, he said that the waiting room has been full all day.

all in all i was really comfortable and all of the staff was really nice and  i would for sure go back.

I've been to this clinic a few times and never been disappointed.  The staff is always extremely friendly and I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes.  I've gone there for small things like a cold to larger ailments requiring blood work - they cover everything.  If there's something they can't do immediately in their office, they will give you a personal reference and make a follow up call afterward.  They're right off the Red Line and accept most (if not all) forms of health insurance.  If you're without insurance, they have varied payment options and are much cheaper than the emergency room.

Overall, had a good experience there.  Very solid all around, prescribed what I needed, real easy to work with and everyone was really nice.  I will definitely be going back.  However, I rate them 4 stars because of my wait.  I was there for 2 hours (Thursday from 11:30pm-1:30pm), with more than 90% of that spent waiting.  Overally, an easy to work with prompt/urgent/immediate care place.

i don't have a ton to add to the other reviews, just more gushing.  the best aspect of my visit (on top of the short wait and SUPER friendly service) was the care that the doctor took to keep my costs down, since i'm uninsured.  i was expecting to get slapped in the wallet hard, but i was given a discount on the office visit and the doctor made sure that generic drugs were available for my prescriptions.  all in all, it was better than a lot of trips i've taken to regular doctors' offices.
