We were here for a very late weekend brunch while on vacation. No reservations but no worries the hostess sat our party of 6 promptly at a lovely table in the middle of the dining room. The room was filled with natural light and had a dainty feminine touch to the decor.
We all enjoyed our meal. Ordered Eggs benedict: The hollandaise was perfect as well as the eggs poached nicely topped with a generous lump of lobster. Also ordered the French Waffles: light and airy, and the Maine Breakfast: The usual egg, sausage and potatoes plate. The scones were lovely as well as the wild blueberry butter.
We were the only ones seated at the time so the entire place was eerily quiet..wished they had some ambient music or something softly playing in the background.
Will be back for brunch again surely.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jennifer S.Danvers, MA0513Jun 1, 2015
Nestled in quaint downtown Bar Harbor, this is a MUST Experience! Chef Colby along with owner John have created a menu to please (as far as we are concerned) anyone hands down! With a farm to table concept we were delighted by the visual appeal but also the incredible taste of our meals.....
Rustic Mussels with chorizo, lobster cakes, shrimp scampi and surf and turf with fingerling and blueberry demi .... finished off with warmed fresh blueberry pie with ice cream and fresh whipped cream.
A meal and experience never to be forgotten!
John and Christine....Thank you ~ Merci!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lauren F.Bernards, NJ23634135Aug 22, 2015
The food at Michelle's is nothing short of amazing. We had the lobster cakes to start which were delicious. I had the seafood scampi as my main course which was loaded with scallops, mussels, and shrimp. My boyfriend had the green curry dish and loved it. We split the chocolate cake for dessert and it was heavenly. We will definitely be back next time we're in Bar Harbor.

My husband and I returned to this restaurant for our anniversary. We were surprised to see that it was under new ownership, but we were soon delighted. With a more casual atmosphere and wonderful service we were instantly happy to return. We are foodies, major foodies. What I love about this place (which I am not sure is well known to most) is that they utilize the farm to table concept. I love knowing where my food comes from as well as supporting local farmers.
The preparation was superb and I do have to acknowledge how perfectly the homemade pasta was prepared....perfectly al dente! The drinks were wonderful and all made with fresh ingredients, no mixes. I highly recommend this place if you love good food. It is worth every bite.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tiffany D.Manhattan, NY81434554Sep 2, 2008
Delicious warm bread with regular AND blueberry butter.
The foie gras was delicious and tender.
They give you VOSS water.
It's a bit overpriced and there were flies in the room we were in (the one where we could look into the kitchen)
The duck was delicious and tender.
I'd give it another star but...... I got the chilled platter entree. And they gave me a bad oyster and ended up with food poisoning... They took it off my bill but I'm scarred for life. No more raw oysters for me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Peter L.Kennesaw, GA141Jun 26, 2014
My girlfriend and myself made a road trip from Georgia up to Maine for a wedding. This was one of several B&Bs we looked into and we enjoyed our stay immensely. From the room to the breakfast we were served each morning. Especially on our last morning after the reception we missed breakfast and while packing the car they offered to make some amazingly tasty Strawberry Rue barb French toast to go.
A home away from home that I have already suggested to family and friends.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mel L.Las Vegas, NV253594705Sep 7, 2011
My mother and I wandered in here from our cruise ship, in search of a nice breakfast. We arrived way early and walked around well before anything was open and eventually found this quaint little gem. My mother had the lobster omelette and I had the blueberry french toast. Everything was amazing. The restaurant was out towards the back and at that time of the morning it was really quiet and picturesque. We really enjoyed the small space and the calmness after several days on a big hulking boat. Perfect way to start our morning of shopping and sightseeing!

This place should not be this pricey. The food items that we had does not qualify for 4-diamond restaurant as it was claimed. We had two people ordering vegetarian pasta and they both had some sand like stuff in it. It could be from vegetable not cleaned properly but this happening at a nice restaurant is not acceptable.
In short, too overpriced for the food quality that one gets.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dan G.Windham, NH06240Jun 25, 2014
The food was dynamite! My wife had lobster crostini and the duck entree. I had seasonal salad (grilled watermelon) and the salmon. Both were perfect. This was such a great meal. Friendly and attentive staff. Truly a must try!

We had dinner at the Chef's Table in early August, and it was a FIVE STAR experience. The Chef was friendly, personable, engaging, and just a good person. The concept of the Chef's table is a great idea, however, the seating for it is a bit uncomfortable. However, as we chitchatted with the Chef and some of the staff, we barely noticed.
I had the Lobster Thermadour and it was delicious. Very rich, meaty, and fulfilling. My husband had halibut fish, unfortunately it was overcooked. Perhaps we were talking too much and the chef forgot about it! Don't know. Throughout the meal, the chef would give us taste bits of other dishes he was preparing. That was neat!
The staff was extremely attentive and professional. We loved feeling special. It was neat seeing how a kitchen operates in a restaurant. Unfortunately, or fortunately for us, the restaurant was not busy that night so there was no food flying all over the place or people screaming. So no hideous tales to tell you about. Just a wonderful experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
