Sloppy southern sweet fattening bbq.
The people there are pretty rude if you call and if you call and order and they tell you 20mins get there in 40 so you only have to wait 10 minutes for your order.... the service is lame.
However if you go in there and force them to chit chat they end up being really nice.
Ribs
Candied Yams ($1 xtra)
Mac and Cheese ($1 xtra)
Fried Okra
Peach Cobbler...
These are a few of my favorite things!
To me this food is best ordered on a cold wet night when you have a movie to watch at home and a 6 pack of beer. Tuck yourself in eat... lick your fingers and enjoy. Just be prepared to be comatose afterwards.
Oh and it would be awesome if this place delivered or had security because there are some scary bum types that kick it in front of the liquor store next door. One time the guy working at Michaels had to yell at some cracked out crackhead outside that kept harrassing me and giving me crazy eyes thru the windows. -

PROS: Delicious food, decent location, friendly staff.
CONS: Interior, not open Sunday & Monday, a little pricey. -

We decided to play dinner roulette...we pick a shopping center then we drive there and pick a restaurant to eat at. This plan has a success rate of 60/40 thanks to Michael's! I admit it looked a bit weird...okay I thought about running out the minute I stepped foot inside but a nice young man came out and handed us menus.
We ordered pork rib dinner with corn/okra and macaroni salad, beef brisket with rice/beans and fried okra AND an order of fried fish.
It was good. Especially the fried okra and fish...they had a corn breading that was not greasy and gave it an interesting crunch/texture.
While ordering my fiance spots the cakes which the young man tells us his grandmother made so we got a slice of german chocolate and yellow cake with chocolate frosting (I hate coconut) The cakes were great...the yellow cake was dense and it was wonderful. I could go on but I am trying to keep the review short so...
I like this place and I will be going back... -

I have no idea, I just drove by the other day!
So 5 stars for just being a BBQ joint.
I'll update my stars once I try it, but thought I'd add it and a picture while I'm here...
I love BBQ! -

I've never dined-in, but I had a friend who worked here who would bring food home and grrrrrrl, let me tell you. Even after being microwaved, the food is on hit! Really good stuff. Really good.

Is this place closed?
Both the yelp number and the phone number on their menu is out of service. Thanks in advance Yelpers for the info! -

Saw a dead guy in the parking lot there. Don't know if he ate the food or what, but it sort of kept me from going in.

In Vallejo, there are two awesome BBQ joints that I can mention... Michael's is one of them. Juicy ribs with an awesomely smoky taste, complimented by a sauce that hard to beat. The side dishes are killer as well. The service is great as well. Some real friendly folks are there, ready to serve you. Do NOT be intimidated to walk in here and give it a try. Trust me, you won't disappoint.

putting bbq sauce over the meat does not make it bbq. their brisket is boiled not smoked. the ribs were over done. i did enjoy the free slice of pound cake and the spicy sauce so i'll give them 2 stars.
