I accidentally drove by this huge but pretty looking building in an area that I would least expect it. After seeing the building, I knew I had to do some research on it and so here it is - an architectural gem of a public school in Miami that has been in several movies.

* The first high school of Miami
* A National Historic Site.
* The school's auditorium was held as Miami's opera house until they opened the Miami Dade County Auditorium.
* "Spanglish" became the official language of Miami High in the year 1984 as declared by the newspaper.
* Movies such as "Porkys" and "The Substitute" were filmed at MHS. Also, Gloria Estefan's video with N'Sync, "Music of My Heart", was filmed at MHS.
