Good service, beautiful room, no probs with late check out.  The windows in the room didn't open, but that hardly deserves getting rid of a star.  Also, one of the few valets that aren't too cool to have your car waiting for you if you call down first.

I see that people have given the place poor reviews in the past.  Just want to point out that the first one was over a year ago.  I'd like to think that places read internet reviews (maybe even have a google alert set to their business?) and correct their problems.  Just putting that out there.

If you are looking for place close to the beach, with a lot of amenities, then the Miami Beach Resort and Spa is the place to go. There are some downsides, especially if you traveling out of town.

You're pretty much going to need a car. All the fun stuff is either in North Beach or South Beach and the Resort is dead smack in the center. However if you want to tour they offer inexpensive day trips.

Each day is a party outside, with music, random events to participate in. You can either spend it on the beach or at the pool. Nothing to extravagant.

***Travel Advisories***

-Cabbies aren't to hinest with tourists. Even though we had 1 or 2 good ones, most of theme were either shady, cheated on cab fare or was a nightmare to ride with.
-The Beach Chairs aren't free.

I stayed here once....ONCE!  

I had one of the "better/best" rooms on the upper guest floor. Admittedly, the view was spectacular, which has less to do with the hotel and more to do with Miami Beach. (HINT: DO NOT spend the extra money on an Ocean view room...instead get one with a view of both the ocean AND the bay/city...IMO these rooms are better because you have the option of seeing both..then again maybe that's just my A.D.D. talking. lol)

What Marlo W. wrote about the rooms is TRUE!  Even though I was in one of their "best" rooms...I had the very same experience...except instead of an overflowing toilet...mine simply  didn't flush altogether....until they fixed it!  Based on rooms alone, this hotel would get a ZERO;  so why am I giving a 2-star rating!?

In truth I'm giving a 2.5-star rating, but since ratings must be in whole-star increments, and I cannot bring myself to give it 3 out of 5 starts, a 2 star rating it is!  Breakdown below:

1) 0.5 Star for View and proximity to beach!  
- It's located RIGHT on Miami Beach and has an outside dining patio that is both poolside and beachside.

2) 0.5 Star for PRICE.
-Okay, this is the only place legitimately qualifying as a "hotel" you are going to find ON the beach for less than $300 a night.  I picked my rooms up for about $120 per night (average with taxes)...but we had a very large group staying, so that does reflect a pretty good discount.  Also the prices at the SPA are pretty decent too...(at least compared to Chicago and Cali) Expect to pay about $150 for the WORKS.  (No, I'm not big on these services myself, but there were many girls in our group who took advantage of the spa nearly daily..and raved about the pricing so I'm figuring that's a pretty good deal.)  It would seem however, that the pricing is standard and not discounted for guests.

3) 0.5 Star for Friendly Staff
- My experience with the staff was very positive. They were extremely polite and attentive (bellhops, front desk, concierge, housekeeping staff, etc..

4) 1 Star for food and personal service at restaurants.  
- The food was actually quite good at the restaurants/cafe, and we were always promptly seated and taken care of by the servers or restaurant manager.
- The chef also came out a few times to make sure everything was  perfect & delicious.  IDK! LOL.. they probably thought I someone famous because I always had two models by my side (bff's Jen and  Diem)...that along with having a large group of friends also checking-in & staying at the hotel...perhaps they thought they were my entourage? LMAO

Anyway, although the service, staff, food, view/location and overall pricing were fantastic, the cleanliness of the rooms (or lack thereof - see Marlo W's review) was bad enough NOT to have me or any of my friends stay there again.

Well for starters, there was hair in my bed and on my bathroom floor at check in; perhaps this is why the room was so dimly lit...they didn't want me to see the hair and stains! Things only got worse as my toliet began gushing water at 3 am...apparently, a part was on order! Yes, they rented a room knowing full well the toliet was broken. I loved the fact that the ogre-like security guard accompanied the engineer to my room at 3 am! Did they actually think I was ripping up their toliet?!? After they fixed it, it happened again!!! You'd better have a car if you stay here as there's nothing within walking distance...and you'll need it as food is scarce!!! The only meal I could count on is breakfast. Vegetarians will die here as their poolside grill has little to no options, not to mention the bistro/bar. The server was exceedingly rude and refused to serve us as the hostess didn't seat us there! And the very last night of my oh-so-long stay ended with the police cuffing a kid in front of the hotel! Stay away!
