The first time I went here, I wasn't expecting too much but I was very pleasantly surprised! I really enjoyed the atmosphere but in my opinion the food is consistently good! I've since eaten here several times and haven't been disappointed. It's hard to find good Italian food in Raleigh!

We went here for a date and to celebrate my birthday. The outside is very cute with vines that crawl up the walls, colorful chair cushions, and lights at night. It was a great ambience for date night and was nice for pictures for a backdrop.
The bruschetta was amazing. I really liked the minced garlic on top and the bread the perfect amount of crunch. I actually liked this better than the entrees.
My dish had shrimp in it with spinach, a lemon butter sauce, tomatoes, garlic, and basil. Although the shrimp was good, I felt like the sauce just didn't have a lot of taste to it and was very bland.
My boyfriend had chicken with light basil cream sauce, spinach, and pine nuts. His was a little better than mine but was still a little bland.
For the price and small portions, I feel like it could have tasted better.
The wait staff was a little pushy in the beginning to put in a drink and appetizer order. During the meal, he was very attentive and never let our drinks reach under half full, which was nice.
There are better Italian restaurants but this was a convenient location placed near all the shops at North Hills.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 24, 2020
We stopped by Mia Francesca for lunch today. It didn't seem busy. We decided to go with the restaurant week menu assuming it's a pre fix menu, we could get back to work faster. We walked in at 12.30 pm and got out at 1.45 pm. It was so slow. It took time for the server to take our order, bring out food, even the bread came after 20 mins!
About the food - it was delicious! loved the bread and olive oil with all the herbs. Tiramisu was sooo good, still dreaming about it. It made up for the poor service but I would actually give 4 stars for food and 3 for my experience!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 30, 2019
Do you want some pasta with your cheese?
I have a few days off from work and it felt like an Italian vacation on the patio of Mia Francesca. My friend and I enjoyed a luxurious lunch
We were BOTH craving the Cacio e Pepe! So simple and delicious
-On my last visit I loved the Salmon with asparagus, avocado and tomatoes for a low carb option
- The pasta with sausage and broccoli cream sauce is AMAZING
Dessert:
-I loved the Crostata di Mele for dessert - a flaky crust filled with apples and topped with caramel ice cream
-The Profistoleres al Pistacchio were flaky puffs filled with pistachio & caramel gelato covered in chocolate sauce
The service is always excellent and a great spot for a romantic date or business lunchHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jun 8, 2019
We took advantage of Triangle Restaurant Week and had lunch here today. The food was good! Our insalatas were lightly dressed with a lot of fresh tomatoes on top. The salmon was the star of our meal. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked and the asparagus was fresh and crisp. The strawberry cheesecake was delicious, too! At $15, our three-course meal was a slight splurge, but we got a lot of food.
The food was absolutely a 5, but there were a lot of glitches in the service and kitchen today. When we entered, there was no one at the hostess desk, and we had to wait about two minutes for someone to seat us. Our server got confused and thought we'd ordered tea (we hadn't), and another server brought us a second salad instead of our entrees. We had a long wait between courses, and our server even commented: "you don't have your cheesecake, yet?" When the strawberry cheesecake finally arrived, it was missing the crème drizzle and the promised strawberries! We had to flag down our server, and he didn't believe us until we showed him the menu description. To top it off, they were getting ready for a party in the event room, and balloons kept popping, which was slightly nerve-wracking. I think they were understaffed, but our server remained pleasant. We still really liked our meal!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tina G.Raleigh, NC81115283Oct 17, 2020
We visit this wonderful upscale Italian restaurant in the north hills section of Raleigh with 8 of our dearest friends. We made reservations snd were seated promptly after a few drinks at the bar. We ordered several appetizers that we shred. Fried calamari, tomatoes and mozzarella snd the buschetta. All were very tasty. The Calamari portion was on the small size so we ordered two.
The service was awesome, very polite and attentive staff.
Atmosphere was dark & quite. We had a large round table in the corner upstairs.
All our dishes were excellent. We throughly enjoyed our meals.
Bill for two adults with 6 alcoholic drinks was $134. Without tip.
I'm definitely coming back to this fancy little Italian restaurant soon!!
The only negative was the menu was small snd no specials but this was definitely because of COVID.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Krissy C.Suwanee, GA76150102Feb 1, 2020
What an amazing dining experience! They're connected to the Renaissance hotel, so I was a little skeptical since restaurants connected to hotels are usually overrated. But they exceeded my expectations. Every. single. dish. was amazing. The seafood, especially the scallops , were so fresh & perfectly cooked, and Emily Rose was the best server!! She took care of us so well and was so sweet. She also gave us the BEST recommendations.
We got:
Linguine all' Arlecchio -- Shrimp, Scallop & Manila Clams in Spicy Tomato Sauce $26
Graniglie Italiane -- Shrimp, Scallops, Goat Cheese Polenta, Pancetta, Prosciutto Tasso Gravy & Arugula Salad $29
Bruschette Pomodorini con Prosciutto -- Garlic Toast, Proscuitto, Whipped Ricotta, Basil & Teardrop Tomatoes drizzled w Local Honey $11
Calamari Fritti $15
Focaccia di Recco -- Liguarian Flatbread, Soft Cow's Cheese & Honeycomb $14
I highly recommend coming here & they can accommodate bigHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 102403782Feb 2, 2020
Came here on a quiet Wednesday evening. The place was actually well occupied . Our server, Alex, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is nice but I didn't like how dim the lighting was in the main dinner room. I like to see my food. Just a personal preference .
I ended up making my own dish. Just shrimp Alfredo with broccoli and spinach. The other items on the menu just seemed way out of my basic tastebuds so I stuck to what I knew . The dish was plentiful but it definitely lacked something..... The sauce needed some seasoning, it was very blend. I tried to spice it up a little with red pepper flakes and some salt and pepper. The shrimp were large and actually seasoned. That was a plus . I loved the bread with the oil that was severed for the table . I also tasted the chicken parmesan. It was ok as well.
They have a decent wine and beer list.
Overall, I probably wouldn't return. I wasn't wowed by either dish.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dec 25, 2017
Came here for Christmas dinner with the family and was pleasantly surprised since none of us had been here before.
We started with risotto appetizer and liked it so much we ordered another. I ordered off the gluten-free menu for facili de pastore, aka pasta with sausage and it was delicious.
Loved the ambience and our server was very attentive too. Overall, great experience!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Max A.Chicago, IL1612942Jun 22, 2020Updated review
I have dined in four of the restaurants in this chain. My wife has been in nine, and this has been over a span of some 20 years. We truly have never had a bad meal at any of the locations. The food is ALWAYS good. On the basis of the food and its consistency I would rate them a 5.
The service can be variable, depending on how busy they are. At this location we ate in a booth in the bar. It was a Sunday night. The place was not at all busy. The service was superb.
The after dinner coffee was just warm. That has been the case here before, we recall.
Updating my previous comments about "variable" service....We think the service now couldn't be much better. And the manager, Paul, greets customers warmly. In 90% of restaurants the manager will walk right past your table and never greet. We've watched Paul in action here. He totally "gets it" when it comes to customer contact! He makes you look forward to a return visit...soon.
One more thing...On a recent visit I was reminded of how much we love their pea pod salad. I comes out nice and cold and crisp, and in a COLD bowl.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 29, 2019Previous reviewWe keep coming back here because the food is tremendous. But it's the warm, friendly service that I truly appreciate, in an era where great service is a rare commodity.
The manager, Paul, really gets it. And his cordial, Midwest hospitality plays well with us.
If I could rate Mia Francesca a 10, I most certainly would!Aug 3, 2019Previous reviewI have dined in four of the restaurants in this chain. Family took me to Mia Francesca for a birthday dinner. The restaurant was really nice! Our waitress went out of her way to make sure my birthday dinner was nice. Everyone in our party of 9 LOVED their food. I had a grilled salmon with artichoke and sautéed spinach. Everything was seasoned well and my waitress brought out the best glass of moscato I have ever had. Store nice and clean. Plenty of parking space. Will definitely be back!
