Needed to get my hair done for a wedding.  A friend suggested this place.

Jane did my hair and she did a hell of a great job.  I needed my hair flat ironed and OMG was it bone straight.

The ambiance is great.  Nice decor; cute little asian girls all over the place.  lol

I had a 10am appt and they opened a few minutes late.  Seemed like everyone was in the parking lot like me waiting.  As soon as the doors opened the place was packed.  Seems like this is the place to get your hair done on a Saturday morning.  As soon as they opened I was seated immediately and Jane took care of me.  She was very cordial and very nice.

I've never in my life had my hair done by an asian girl and for what I needed she did her thang!!!

Total damage for a flat iron: $35

If you want a great cut by a fabulous hairstylist...go see Kayla!

She is sweet and down to earth, her hair is always looking sleek & nice so I trust her w/ my hair! Plus my Mom gets the best highlights from her also!

She managed to take my grown out, no style-havin hair and transformed it into something with bounce, layers & some style! She totally listens to what you want and gives great advice. I have an appt with her to dye my hair chocolate red like hers...after she saw that I had dyed my hair w/ my at home dye..she was like - we need to fix that! haha..

Go see Kayla!

Yay! I love my hair and I love Cindy! I went to get my brows done a few weeks ago next door at Image Perfection and happened to stumble into Mia Bella to see if they could help me with my do.  A friend had recommended Gina but I got Cindy.

I walked in and was immediately helped. As soon as I was seated I showed Cindy what I wanted and she explained to me some adjustments she would have to make and as soon as I gave her the green light she ran with it!
Highlights of the visit:
1. Wait time was 15 minutes (no appointment)
2. GREAT conversation...not a dull moment!
3. Stylists will confirm with you prior to making any drastic snips
4. My stylist taught me how to style my hair...and I mean step by step.
5. The ladies are FAB!
6. $45 for a cut that'll turn heads

Come see Cindy. She's fucking fabulous!

Wonderful staff. Kayla is great with my hair and love the way she cuts my bangs.... I finally found someone who is able to cut them right. (Which reminds me I need to go back for a trim)

Very clean, bright and energetic. The ladies are really sweet and I love the fact that they speak to you and hold up conversations with you. I couldnt tell you how many times I have gotten my hair cut and they either just dont speak english or they do and they speak in their language which makes you feel that they are talking smack about you.

This place is nice, clean and has tons of staff. I was able to book an appointment for the day I called.

They are a "Tony & Guy" (Bedhead makers) salon so they push that a little much . . . trained thru them, use their products, etc. I get it . . . but it was a little over the top.

The price for a cut was very reasonable and the girl was shocked when I tipped Kayla 20%. Not sure why? I thought it was the right thing to do.

I love Mia Bella... The place is really cute! It is very clean and modern. Everyone is very nice and very presentable. Which I think is a must because how can someone who looks a hot mess give you advice on how to look? I've went to 3 people there they are all really nice and give me great advice!

The fist time I came Cindy worked on me. She is totally sweet and cracks me up. I like it here because the girls are really friendly and you aren't dying of boredom while you're getting your hair done!  I came here about 6 times so far and have referred a lot of my friends and family and everyone loves it!

I would definately recommend everyone to try this place!!!!!

I found out about this place through a friend (she goes to this salon regularly).  I've normally gone to Glam Up in Japantown but since have had my friend cut my hair (she's a stylist herself).  Looking for a new place, my friend recommended Mia Bella (conveniently close to my apartment).  It's a nice, trendy looking salon and for the most part the people seem friendly.  My friend recommended Cindy (and from the other reviews she is pretty popular), however the day I needed a haircut she was actually unavailable so I had Gina.  She's one of the master stylists there and really nice.  She'll talk to you as she cuts your hair and is good at explaining what she's doing and why, even giving you tips on how to style your hair on your own.  I've only had a cut done there once, but I will definitely come back.   My curiousity about Cindy is still peaked so maybe I'll try to get an appointment with her for the next cut before I settle on one stylist--though I always feel guilt when you go to a salon and the next visit see someone else.  Side bonus, they offer you a beverage while you wait--including mimosas!

My friend Christina referred me to Vicky about 4 years ago. I can't get enough of her layered and side swept bangs cut. It's her signature cut. She can make any girl look cute once she finishes her cut and styling. She also has another signature style which is the wavy look. She's always willing to teach you how to take care of your hair and style it.

Down to the dirty: the girls that work there are friendly. Vicky's awesome. She's fast, she knows what she's doing. You don't get antsy sitting there wondering if you're going to look like crap..because you can trust her. She knows what the heck she's doing. Her price is reasonable. You do have to book in advance because she's popular. She jumps between her Walnut Creek on the weekdays and San Bruno on the weekends.
All in all, you won't be dissapointed. This girl is good!

Alphagail says: I wasn't dissapointed. ;)

A friend referred me to Cindy, and I have no regrets.  Cindy did a wonderful job on helping me decide what I wanted to do with my hair, and she also did a wonderful job on cutting/styling my hair.  I really liked that she took the time to teach me how to style my hair myself as well.  She seems quite knowledgeable about hair, seeing as she's the first hair dresser to have ever told me that my hair is naturally wavy (if styled correctly).

I've been meaning to do that for a long time!
I have a very thick unruly, naturally curly hair that tangles incredibly. Cindy did a precision cut on it after blowing and flat ironing it. It looks fantastic - I've never had a better cut!!!! My hair was just below my mid back ( quite long and I have TONS of hair). Now have a great short, kind of asymmetric, precision cut, and I can wear my hair either kinky ( sooooo cute!), or straight for sultry sexy look!
Thank you Cin! I will be back soon!
Oh... I forgot - the best part is that this cut, which usually costs around $90-100,cost me 55 with the tip!

This review is only for a haircut. The salon has other services which I have not tried yet.

Cindy cut my hair and she did fabulous work. I told her to surprise me with something new, and gave a few "don'ts" to follow by. Intentionally showed no pictures. We seemed to communicate easily, and this was best haircut I got in a long time! She made observations about my hair that I have never heard before. This pleased me very much! I took pictures of this to use in my haircut reference series.

All I can say is that Jane simply continues to amaze me. Stopped in last Saturday for my next haircut. She was mulitasking as it was a busy afternoon. When I left, I was very happy with my hair. Here it is, Monday, and people are still complementing me on my hair. I'm telling ya, if you want your hair to look it's best, call Mia Bella and make an appointment with Jane. She will take care of you without worrying about the outcome.

My wife was looking for a certain makeup product (Don't ask me which one, I have no idea) and we came into this store. They're moving to a new location so they have a lot of things on sale. I happened to glance into a 99 cent sale bin and saw some professional grade guide combs for my Wahl clippers. I cut my own hair and sometimes the el cheapo guide combs that came with the clippers will fall off if you press too hard or at the wrong angle. Really easy to to when you're reaching around behind your head. I've given myself a square bald spot on more than one occcasion due to the guide comb coming off. The professional ones have a heavy duty spring clip that holds them on securely so hopefully no more square bald spots!

I can't believe I just reviewed a beauty supply store.

I had a hair cut and hair color/highlight appointment on a Saturday afternoon with Gina (who conveniently called in sick on a three day weekend) My only option was Tracy.

She was really nice. The hair cut was a bit choppy but good. The Highlight and hair color was another story.

It took 5 hours to color and highlight my hair!! It wasn't exactly what i wanted and she didn't think it was either. I went back the following day  so she could try to fix it (free) All she did was just add more highlights :-/  the highlights weren't close enough to the scalp at all and the highlights weren't the same color all over. Some were lighter than others.

despite it all I guess it was OK. I don't think I'll go back for hair color/highlights but probably a hair cut.

I got my hair highlighted purple from Gina and she did a fabulous job! Surprisingly, the color lasted for more than 3 months! I just got it retouch this week but this time I had it colored light brown.  I'm really happy how it turned out. Gina is super cool and very professional.  The staff are really friendly.

I went there another time just to get a trim.  Tracy is amazing! My hair was all dried at the ends but she was able to keep a good length and thinned it out. My hair looks so healthier now and love the cut!

I have "Asian hair", which means the average hair stylist either isn't comfortable styling it or simply shaves the sides and trims the top.

As I had a few friends who went to Mia Bella, I thought I'd give it a shot. I made an appointment with Kayla. She was friendly and accommodating, and spent time giving me a few options, which was quite refreshing to hear. I liked the idea of growing out my hair and giving it a different style, so that was the option I went with.

Kayla was meticulous and skillful, and made me feel comfortable with my option. Growing out one's hair can leave it in a "limbo" state which looks unkempt if cut incorrectly. I left with a new do that let my hair grow out but kept it looking good in the meantime. A shampoo before and rinse after didn't hurt either!

During my cut, we chatted and I found out that a whole bunch of my friends actually go to Mia Bella (most of them actually drive all the way to San Bruno to get their hair cut there).

Can't wait to go back and have Kayla style it again. Highly recommended.

Out of all the hair salons i've been to all my life, Mia Bella is currently at the top of my list. My hairstylist was Jane and she is very friendly. I wanted some bangs slanting to the right side and touch up on my highlights. Turns out, I had a haircut, and a full-head dye with a light-brown base and thin highlights, along with deep-conditioning. Everything costed me $215 with a $25 discount because i got the cut, dye and conditioning. $190 + tip is probably a lil pricey but I'm happy of how it turned out. I got a lot of compliments on my hair till this day, when i had my hair done almost half a year back!

I just got my hair cut and highlighted from here and LOVE IT.  Jocelyn is awesome.  I cut off a good 10 inches of hair into a cute little bob.  Jocelyn did an great job with both my color and cut.  I've been getting tons of compliments on my hair (from strangers).  I'm lovin it :)

I thought I'd give this salon a try since it is close to my home and had some good reviews. I was given a different stylist than the one I made an appt. with and did not realize this until the end when the stylist told me her name and asked if I'd like to schedule my next appt. It was obvious that the stylist was inexperienced. She was anxious and fidgety. She kept dropping things and did not know how to follow/trim my existing cut/hairstyle. She didn't know what to recommend and then asked me if I'd like the haircut the lady in the next chair had. I didn't get a bad haircut but I didn't get a great one either. Layers were uneven and choppy. I had a lot of fly-aways from the stylist thinning my hair with a razor. 2 friends told me that my haircut did not suit me.  I won't be returning to this salon because I felt deceived in being given a new stylist rather than the one I made an appt. with.

I followed Jocelyn here. She moved away so I wasn't able to follow her so I decided to stay here and try the other stylists. I tried out Jane and she did a great job with my haircut and my hair dye, but it hurt when she washed my hair, and I didn't want to be impolite, so I decided to try someone else the next time. I tried Kayla, less pain, but still some pain. Kayla's a master whereas Jane is a designer. When I got my hair dyed, Kayla knew what to do and we got my hair to the color I wanted. I got both partial highlights and a full head dye. Last time i got it, the highlights were too light so when they faded, they would look blonde and i wanted them to be brown. But with Kayla, we fixed the problem and my hair looks great now. People think it's natural and they can't tell that ive both highlighted and dyed my hair. First time i tried Jocelyn, i gave her full freedom to cut my hair. I let her cut it however she wanted, and she did a great job. I've kept the same haircut for about 3 years now. But i'm thinking about letting Kayla style my hair the next time i go however she wants it. So we'll see how that goes. My hair dyeing/hair cut sessions are pretty expensive. They run about 180 for everything. I guess that's what you have to pay to get good work done, but it takes me awhile to save up to be able to spend that much in one day. They do try to sell you the products but i dont feel like they try to push it on you so much as in other places. They'll tell you what they're using and they'll mention the name, but that's as far as it goes. They won't mention the price or ask you unless you ask about buying the product. I find buying the product doesn't do much for me. I never get it to look the same with the products anyways. Call a week a head of time cause they get booked up pretty fast especially if you want someone who's in high request. 5 stars because my dye job has turned out so well and it still looks the way I want it to.

Not quite worthy of being subject to Tabitha Coffey's Salon Takeover but I think the stylists could have been alittle more professional. As for the service, Jane was really nice and very personable. She dyed my mom's hair that was full of grays and managed to get it down to brown colors. However, right when we left the salon and we doublechecked her hair, we saw some gray roots! It's been about a month and the color is now fading and not attractive. We expected it to stay on longer for $150, I mean.

This full service salon is located at 280 Metro Center in Colma.   It's a nail salon (pedicure/manicure), hair salon, and beauty supply store.  They have an extensive list of services at their store.  It is a family business, and they take pride in their business.  They remember their customers' names (even as infrequent as I go) and the prices are reasonable.  They are growing and have added other employees.  Everyone speaks English and will try to engage you in conversation (if that's what you want).  The facility is clean; when I first went there for a pedicure, I asked about cleanliness, and they were very enthusiastic about telling me how the equipment is cleaned.  I had been fruitlessly looking for a clean but not pretentious and pricey place for a pedicure when I came across this place; I also didn't like going to places where the staff ignored me and spoke in their language (maybe about me?!) the whole time while working on my nails.  For the record, I'm not related or affiliated with them, and I'm not even that consistent a customer, but I really enjoy my experiences there.
