7 reviews for Mi Pueblo
First time I attempted to eat Mexican food in Florida. I come from the land of Tex-Mex so nothing here can compare.
Keeping that in mind and also that my queso days are over, I was please with Mi Pueblo on Tuttle. They offer an organic and raw menu that was yummy. And pricey too!
Tried this place once. I liked the atmosphere. That's about it.
Our waitress was very impatient. Did not write anything down and forced me to interrupt to finish my order. Totally missed my request for salsa picante.
She never picked up on the fact that one of my guests hardly touched his overly sweetened sangria and ordered a glass of wine to compensate. We left the sangria to sit and she if she noticed...fail
The others in my party ordered from the organic menu and enjoyed the food. Not much going there for mex flavors but good none the less. The organic and raw stuff seems to be where they excel so if that's your thing you should be satisfied.
I ordered chicken from the house specials. Nothing good to say so I well hold my tongue.
People definitely go here for the atmosphere, because the food is terribly bland and pricey in comparison to better places in the area. The building is a stand alone within a shopping center and is very striking and over decorated. Like something that you would see at Epcot. The interior décor is no different, and is very beautiful. It is a fun space to be in and experience. The servers were very attentive, polite, and fast.
Sounds pretty great, right? I am the type of person that does not care what the atmosphere and service is like as long as there is good food to be had. Well, this place has everything going for them but good food. I was at a table of ten and no one was pleased with their food. Everyone said it was,"ok." That the chicken was dry, the rice was dry, the beans make their stomach hurt, and the cheese dip sucks. I was stupid enough to order the cheese dip at $5.95, and it was terrible. It tasted like popcorn butter that they use at the movie theater. As in, there was a slight creamy flavor to let you know it had dairy in it, but that is all you get. They actually put this nasty cheese dip on the taco salad, and refer to it as dressing. Tragic!
If you are a customer that is willing to sacrifice taste for a "non-threatening to middle America" environment, then keep going here.
I will definitely not fall victim to the terrible food here again and avoid the place. If you are looking for good "authentic" food, then I recommend the slew of places on 301. Also, try Acapulco Tropical or Mr. Tequilas in Bradenton.

We had a large group outing 40ppl fixed menu, carna asada was not so good! Private room was great! Salsa was average, chips were way to thin and did not hold the salsa without breaking easily. I was told the rellenos were excellent but could not try due to fixed menu. I'd be willing to go back and try the rellanos. Salad was very tasty and plentiful!
Excellent Place! We've gone twice so far and had wonderful food both times. It was so fast out to the table I barely had time to finish my drink. I would suggest asking for Manuel, he was VERY attentive and we didn't have to ask for refills which is a definite plus! I was impressed that they have specific people to make sure you always have chips & salsa at all times and very courteous staff. Great atmosphere. We haven't been on Monday's but they also have a Mariachi band.
This place isn't bad - it's not el adobe, but the food is probably about equally good. They are super fast lunch specials and the food is pretty tasty. Give it a shot if you are in the area.
We saw the ad for this place in our little road map of Sarasota they gave us at the car rental place, and decided to try it our first night in town. We went kind of early, since we had our toddler with us. There were a couple of tables already occupied at 5pm! The food was super fast, which is a big plus. And the food was great! Service was great, too. And their sangria was soooo good. I got the bean burrito with a sour cream sauce, and then guacamole for my chips. It was all really tasty. We were in and out in no time. We decided to eat here again on our last night in town, but didn't get there until well into the dinner rush. Still, we had no wait (and the place was hopping!), service was good, and the food came out in like, less than 5 minutes. Always good when you've got an antsy toddler. I got the same thing I had before since it was so good. I also got some fried ice cream. Delish. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely go back.
