We bumped into the restaurant by accident today. We were looking for a place to eat lunch so we wandered in here. The flour tortillas are homemade and delicious. The server was very attentive and even catered to my bossy 4 year old who wanted fries with his quesadilla instead of rice and beans. The chips were crisp, thin and fresh and the salsa has great flavor. We ordered the appetizer sampler platter and the fundido. The chicken flautas were one of the best I've ever had.
The food was delivered so fast, I didn't have time to complete the kid's menu games with my son.
The only downside is the smoke from the bar that flows into the dining area. I don't think I would want to go here on a game night, as the bar would probably be crowded and smokey. If they had a better filtration system, that would solve this problem.
We have made this one of our favorite places to eat in the area. For a family of 4 we can eat for 30 ish with tip. They have 2 hot sauces one is warmed and is a little hot the other is served cold and not hot. The menu has a good selection of food. We've had the mole enchalidas, brisket tacos, and crispy tacos. All have been good and service is great as well
I've eaten here a couple times and every time it has been good. Everything from the brisket tacos to the mole enchiladas. The service is great and everyone there is always helpful. I left my phone there one night and when I called the next morning they had it locked in the managers office so that nobody would take it.
My wife and I eat here at least once a month and have done so since they opened. I've never had poor service here and have never had problems with the food. Their menu is expansive and they have some interesting items (like quail) to choose from. I usually go with the combo-fajitas or the Amigo Platter (2 cheese enchiladas and 1 beef taco). It sounds simple, but the best thing here are their crispy beef tacos. They are a good size and really tasty!!! Good beer selection, great tequila selection, and decent house margaritas. This isn't the biggest place on earth, so it's best to go on off hours unless you don't mind waiting. We have a few friends that come visit and insist on eating here every time!
This isn't the best Mexican (or Tex-Mex) food on the planet, but it's not bad. While that may not sound like a ringing endorsement, this restaurant has some good things going for it. I like that they serve the very thin tortilla chips and they have a decent salsa verde (the red salsa is fairly tasty, but has zero heat). The wait staff is generally attentive and the manager buzzes around a lot making sure that people are happy. And they make a decent margarita. The food is generally good, but I think it depends on what you order. I've had good luck with some of the seafood dishes like the Especial del Mar and the Camarones al la Mexicana. The Tacos al Carbon isn't bad. Once I had the Al Pastor Platter (pork with red chile sauce) and it was painfully greasy (maybe it was an off day, but I'm afraid to order it again to find out). On the negative side, this place has a smoking section (bar area). I guess NRH still allows that, but it ruins it for the rest of us who don't smoke and don't want to smell it.
