5 reviews for Mi Hacienda Ltd
Went for dinner with friends on a Sunday evening. Parking in front of the restaurant was almost full, so I thought this was a good sign. The restaurant was busy, but not overly packed.
I wish the waitstaff was a little more attentive - there were times when we waited for drinks and they were slow to bring them out - never clearing the empties on the table.
When we ordered the food, it came out in a reasonable time - very good. Everyone in the party was happy with their meal.
After dinner, we were not asked if we would like desert (odds are we would have) so that was a downer.
I'd like to go again and give the place another shot.
After a rough start to the week, one of my friends and I sought solace in food. The more calorific the meal, the better, and well, Tex-Mex cuisine puts the fat in fat-laden. Had it not been for a recent trip to Thrush's Bakery, I would not have known of Mi Hacienda's existence.
Now, I am not one to judge a TexMex place, seeing how I can easily count the number of times I step inside such establishments in any given year with both hands, but I can still differentiate tasteful and delicious from bland and overwhelmingly gross. (Just as an aside, El Vaquero falls under the latter category.)
Anyways, back to MH. The lunch menu is nowhere as extensive as El Vaq's, but our dishes came out rather quickly, pipin' hot, and mighty delicious. The chicken chimichanga was bursting with flavor inside and out, and MH takes the term melted cheese to a new level. The accompanying rice, refried beans, and guacamole salad were just as enjoyable as the chimichanga itself. Despite the heavy sounding meal, it didn't leave me feeling bloated afterwards.
MH exudes a lively feel from the staff to the decor. The staff was one of the most attentive and friendliest I've encountered, and the decor was downright unique in an unexplainable way. Let's just say I walked out of the restaurant wanting a dining table set much like the ones found inside MH.
I'll be back!
This restaurant is a hidden gem, its not on a major road so you might not find it without a little extra effort. But those who find it won't soon forget it. The architecture and interior design is superior to any other Mexican Restaurant in town. The tables and chairs are eye catching and colorful. The bathroom down a long hallway is very nicely kept, reminds me of a nice hotel.
They have booths tucked away behind brick arches along the wall of the building. So if you like eating in privacy, its definitely a plus. Sitting in there, you feel like your the only table in the restaurant. This place has one of the Best Bars in Toledo. For your birthday, you got a free shot of Tequila. They even talked a group of friends to sing for my friend. They put a sombrero over her head and sang to Happy Birthday to her in Spanish. I'm pretty sure they don't regularly do this, but they will do whatever it takes to make your visit pleasant.
The food is good. I don't think there is nothing spectacular about it, but I don't have any complaints. The fried ice cream is an awesome ending. It stays with me when I'm walking out, feeling content.
I've drove past this place on the way to my fiances old home for years and I have always been a bit skeptical about going there. Everytime I drove past there it always seemed to be busy... We decided to give it a try on Cinco De Mayo this year and I must say that I was impressed with the place. The food was great and the drinks were cheap. The service was great even with it being packed and we didn't have to wait at all since the place is so big. The Queso was good and the fajitas was excellent as well. I would recommend this place over Don Pablo's or El Vaquero
A friend of my mother (this woman is 84 years old) introduced me to this restaurant when I took her to her doctor's a few times. She would treat to me to lunch at various restaurants. This was one of her favorites for lunch, and it has become one of mine. When her husband was alive they came here frequently in the evening, and found the atmosphere delightful For lunch, the food is good-tasting, economical, and doesn't leave one feeling stuffed, just sated.
