I was a little skeptical about this place when I walked in, since it's so small and no one was in there. Then I realized people were just getting their food to go.
I know it's not fair to review a place and not say what you had, but I can't remember exactly what it was I ate - I know there was salad involved and it was fresh and delicious. If I still worked downtown or found myself in the area one time, I would definitely go there again. Also, fast service and clean = + in my book. -

This has easily become my favorite Lebanese restaurant in the downtown area. The mixed grill ($17.95) that comes with beef, lamb, kafta, and vegetables were rich in its grilled flavors and served with moroccan rice. The plate was huge for one person, and it's a great addition to the downtown dining scene. They also have daily specials and delivery. The "Express Lunch" for $8.95 also includes baklava and drink.
Unfortunately they're not open in evenings or during the weekends yet. It's only a lunch operation - with excellent service, nice and clean ambience, and delicious food.
I would definitely return (or order delivery.) -

Yes this WAS one of the better options for a quick lunch downtown. However, their location probably did not help them much. We have seen a whole lot of places open and quickly close in that small shopping center.
Last I looked the place had suddenly shut down and is no longer even there. Too bad. -

I left my lunch destiny up to the powers that sometimes BE, especially when I had no true craving for anything in particular. So what happens - well, my friends, the inevitable occured. We came upon Mezza and there $8.95 lunch special, including drink and baklava. I was impressed by my gyro. Definitely the best flavored gyro I have eaten and yes, I've had more than a gyro or two in my life. Fries were nice and crispy, as well. Only disappoint was the baklava dessert - not my taste preference. It was too honey for me. But this should not deter you from coming to enjoy this place. Restaurant ambience is good for lunch with coworkers and friends. It's small, so don't think of inviting a very large crew.
Enjoy! -

Mezza is yet another example of the restaurants in Downtown Miami. When it first opened, the food was AMAZING! My co-workers and I would come here at least once a week. I would order the kepah or chicken kabob. Then from one day to the next it changed. They added new waitresses, the service was slow and the food would take forever. They started adding things to the menu and changing the contents of the food without telling their customers. Since when do you put hummus on a kabob?! Before you know, I just got fed up with the place. It sucks that it had to go down the drain like that, I used to love going there. Maybe if they make a few changes, it can be a nice place to sit down and eat again. I must admit, that from time to time I order take out because their food is good. The sad news is that their service is faster and better through take out then at the actual restaurant.
