One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
I am turning over a new leaf in my life and going into situations with an open mind... and an open mouth. After my shocking experience in chicago (Aka i accidentally ate pork... and didn't die) now i kinda will eat whatever you put in front of me. While not estatic about trying Meze, when we went for a prebachelorette party dinner, i tried to have an open mind and was pleasantly suprised.
Another Michelle "claim to fame" (besides not eating chickpeass, fish, pork or peanut butter) is that i dont like lamb. That is now false. I LOVED the lamb meatballs. Wow. They were fantastic. The chicken skewers were slightly dry, but still tasty. The tomato mozerella salad was great, bread was tasty and hummus was awesome. Oh i guess i now eat chickpeas too :) Everyone i was with loved the seafood dishes (yea didn't branch out that much) and i was impressed with the little side of mashed potatoes that came with one of them.
Desert was great. I'll warn you the Backlava is unexpected. But good. We had two other things that had som kind of cream in them but we had also had five bottles of wine at that point, so i can't recall what they were!
Overall definitely not overpriced and the food was tasty. Worth checking out again!
Solid place for dinner. Great food and good ambience.
I came here with a group to celebrate a friend's birthday. Choosing not to do their prix fixe large group menu, we instead ordered two or three items each. This was a good approach, in that there was more than plenty of food and we sampled a good portion of their menu (which is itself very extensive).
So much food! I wasn't sure what everything was because there were so many dishes, but my favorites were the sigara boregi (phyllo dough with feta and spinach) and the lamb kabobs.
At tapas bars and small plate restaurants, and Mezè fits into this class, you run the risk that the final bill will be more than you expected. Of course, alcohol increases the tab both with its price and its snowball effect, whereby you order more food or more drinks, or both. So this didn't help. Nevertheless, for around three plates and two drinks per person, the bill, with tax and gratuity, was still reasonable.
The third floor, where we were seated as one of a few large groups, gets converted into a dance floor after dinner.
We decided to dine at Mezè after hearing so many positive things on Yelp but left somewhat sorta on the fence. I loved the lively ambiance of the restaurant and the food was quite good but the service was a bit lacking. When you get bad service from a business, it can really hurt the entire dining experience.
We arrived early so there was no problem getting seated. Our server, however, didn't even come to our table for at least 10 minutes, let alone was aware we were even waiting. That may not seem like a long time but when the restaurant is pretty much empty inside and there is an abundance of employees standing around chit chatting, that can prove to be annoying.
The food, thankfully, was very good and was served timely. In true tapas style, we ordered as such:
Somon Kanepe - tasty salmon, but that relish topping...yowzah!!
Turlu - very tasty potato/eggplant dish but couldn't really taste the potatoes
Midye Tava - fat, succulent mussels accompanied with an equally refreshing tarator sauce.
Hunkar Begendi - absolutely juicy and quite flavorful braised meat
Kuzu Pirzola - two small delectable tender lamb ribs
Yogurtlu Mantar - light, yet creamy mushroom goodness with a surprising little kick
Overall, the food was very solid but the service left a slightly bitter after taste. Price were very reasonable. I'd definitely come again, but hope the service is better in round two.
I was so disappointed in my visit to Meze. I've read and heard so many good thins about this place that when my friend's suggested we try it for turkish restaurant week I jumped on the idea.
None of the things that I ordered were good and more importantly, with a few exceptions, the descriptions of the food in the menu did not match the plate once it arrived. This is particularly true of the chicken bruschetta which is really a chicken pate on top of a small toast. I understand that part of this might be my lack of familiarity with the names of the food, but that is why I use the descriptions!
I do have to say that service and ambiance were great- the food, however, was not satisfying enough to make me go back there.

Mmmmm so good, mmmm.
I grew up eating Turkish food, so I am pretty picky - and Meze is the best. Hands down delish.
I had the Sigara Boregi (this cigar shaped filo dough & feta cheese thing), the Mercimek Kofte (a lentil 'meat'ball), and Mucver (a zucchini pancake) - the first two were Extraordinarily yummy, the zucchini wasn't as good, but I suspect because I had ordered it to go, and it got cold by the time I brought it home.
It's definitely a lil pricey, but a treat you won't regret.
Enjoy!
Did someone say Tango?
We came to Meze with the International Club of DC to take an Argentine tango lesson (first dance lesson since I was 6) but before that, we had to try the food.
I'm a big fan of small plates but Meze's plates were actually quite large. We went with the spinach salad, fried calamari, and chicken kabobs. Although the calamari was nice and lightly fried (not too over-the-top), my favorite was the salad and chicken kebobs-both full of flavor and fantastic texture combos with the salad. Unfortunately, the servers were pretty flaky but the food and cheap prices made up for it.
After our hilarious lesson we found out the Meze holds a tango class every Monday night-I'm in!
I struggle with this place. I want to like, it as it is my roommates favorite place in DC so we inevitability end up dancing here almost every weekend, but really, it's just okay.
Maybe it's because I can't shake my hips and dance like everyone else can to Middle Eastern music. Okay, fine, it's probably that. But it's also that every Middle Eastern song they play sounds the same, and they intersperse these songs with today's hits and classics from the 60s, which is just strange. Plus, if you're there long enough, you will hear the same songs, in the same order, at least twice an hour. The DJ, needless to say, has yet to master the iPod.
But fine, the drinks aren't that expensive, it's large and air conditioned, and, even though it's in Adams Morgan, you don't have to fear dancing with an underage college student. We've all done it, no need to be ashamed.
If you can move like a belly dancer, don't mind 80s music and can stand hearing Rhianna 6 times- at minimum- in one night, you will enjoy yourself here. I seem to keep going back...
A solid 4 stars. As I'm writing the reviews for the weekend, I realize that I give a lot of 4 stars out, but bear with me.
Food was great. I was anticipating a cool lounge scene but not good food, and I was pleasantly surprised. Its turkish tapas! We ordered two orders of the salmon and feta bruchetta and I recommend everyone try this.
We sat upstairs and although the waitress seemed to be having the worst day ever, we had a lot of fun. It might have been the $12 mojito royales, which were so good!
Anyway, I'd def. go back and probably will soon.
This place is definitely Turkish. Over the years, I've been to Meze many times probably because it's versatile and consistently good. I've been there for brunches, dancing on Sat. nights, birthday parties, an engagement party, baby showers, etc.
Personal Favorite: Smoking cigars on the patio with a surprisingly good and strangely reasonably priced single malt selection.
Can't go wrong: Su borgei which tastes like a buttery fresh Lasagna with out the tomatoes and the arugula salad which makes me forget about the butter I ate in the previous dish.
They also have some cool events like tango and networking happy hours . I think I saw something about a steak and single malt event on March 29th, too.
Expensive...but tapas usually are. This place has great food, some of the best tapas I have had and is fun for groups.
A friend's roomate is Greek. All her friends are Greek. They all talk about Greece. Pretty much everything I know about Greece comes from my studies of Alexander the Great and Balki Bartokomous from "Perfect Strangers." Obviously, this girl chose Meze for her graduation party. The brought their own Greek Techno music, though I have no clue if they played it, since all techno sounds like crap to me.
Edit: I've been told Meze may be Turkish and not Greek. If so, the Greek girls successfully invaded it like Turkey invaded Cyprus.
Before the party started, I wondered upstairs, where a group of young people were having dinner while a bellydancer undulated around them. Seems like a silly thing to waste money on. When I go to dinner, we convince a drunk friend to do the same thing, for free. I thought this might be the party I was invited to, but it wasn't and I was quickly shooed away.
Downstairs, I amused myself with Mojitos and Lamb Meatballs. The meatballs were delicious, tender and well seasoned. They also came out really fast. The drink menu at Meze has a large amount of different Mjoitios, but they all break down into the "Mojitos + Fruit" category. Mojitos with strawberries, Mojitos with blueberries, Mojitos with Blackberries, Mojitos with schnozberries, etc. All of these, especially the blueberry mixture, are excellent sources of anti-oxidants. I opted for the Blackberry Mojito and tried the Blueberry one. They're pretty much what you'd except- a slightly sweeter mojito that has pieces of berry in it. The downside is that there's not much room left for alcohol with all those ingredients taking up space.
The crowd was fancy without being insufferable. It seems Ad-Mo bars break down into "White College Kids with Boat Shoes" and "Other." Usually I hate both for totally separate reasons, but I don't remember seeing anyone wearing their Prada shades at night or any thing else overly annoying.
Some lame girl started hitting on me, so I hid in the bathroom a while, waiting for her to go away. It was pretty similar to hiding in the Superdome during Katrina, but with much better conditions. The bathrooms were clean and I would hide in them again any day of the week. A friend complained that the Christmas wreaths on the door obscured the male/female icons on the door, making him an inadvertent sex offender. I just moved the wreath slightly before entering, ensuring my reputation as a gentleman remained intact.
In sum: Excellent drinks at high, but not outrageous prices, a friendly and diverse crowd (not represented: Western Europe), a nice bathroom without an annoying attendant and a cozy upstairs suitable for groups of girls who want to dance in a circle. The bar tender was really nice too. I thought she must really like me, but then I remembered that all good bartenders smile and make eye contact with customers. I'm not used to that.
It's been awhile since I've been here but I do remember that the lamb chops were yummy...
On the weekends, the upstairs turns into a clubby-type of atmosphere with a DJ spinning some pretty cool Middle Eastern and Turkish music, which is so hard to find anywhere, and the crowd is not overbearing, one bit.
I was unimpressed by Meze. I went with five friends, for someone's birthday, and was annoyed on all counts.
First and most importantly, the food was simply bad. We ordered many things -- hummus, tuna kebab, lamb kebab, lamb 'meatballs,' lentil soup, keftas, sigara boregi, adana kebap, etc... and didn't like any of it. It was all terribly bland -- texture was the only difference between my 'spicy' tuna kebab and the mashed potatoes on the side. I've eaten hummus my entire life, and never disliked it as much as I did here. The pervasive problem was a sheer lack of flavor. They must have superpureed about four chickpeas, and then mixed that with bland tahini or maybe just water... awful, awful, awful.
The service was equally terrible. Our waitress was rude, brought one person the wrong dish, and then spent 10 minutes arguing with us trying to convince us that the chicken kebab really was the meatball dish. Finally she agreed to take it back -- with no apology, and only annoyance at us. She didn't return with the correct dish (worlds different in presentation, although I doubt there was a difference in flavor) until after everyone else had finished and she had cleared our plates. No apology. No comped dish. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
I really wanted to like Meze, and ordinarily I'd give a place I've only visited once another star and a chance to redeem itself -- but I don't see that happening. The only good part of the meal was the outdoor seating.
Will not return.
For drinks only
After we ditched Heaven & Hell, we strolled down 18th Street trying to figure out where's a good place to sit outside and have a few drinks and we landed at Meze. It's a good place to people watch--you have all the people strolling down eating the Jumbo Slice pizzas or the Original Jumbo Slice pizzas, the drunks, the crazy girls and guys...
Service was a bit slow --had to hunt my waitress. Drinks are pricey. If you sit outside, I recommend you not to sit next to the "fence" as LOUD people like to lean on it and talk forever...
I cant believe I left out a review on Meze. It's located right on Adams Morgan amongst some of the crazy bars. It fits in with though with the eclectic assortment of ethnic restaurants in the area. The most special dish at Meze is Midye Tava - deep fried mussels. It's simply amazing and I recommend you get one of that, plus the classics like Hunkar Begendi, kofte and the dolma. It's great to chill by the bar or go in a big group.
For the record, we came here on a Monday night at like 5:30pm so uhh... there wasn't really anyone there.
BUT loved the decor/atmosphere. and there is a wide selection of mojitos, not to mention they are FABULOUS. my Latin date was really impressed with them, and he is the ultimate mojito snob.
We ordered a few dishes, which came out fairly quickly and found everything to be very interesting and good.
It's not much of a review, but my point is -- go for the mojitos!
I've been to Meze twice so far: Once for a casual lunch on their patio and once for a group dinner before hitting the bars on a Saturday night. Both times the service was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The atmosphere during lunch was casual and relaxed but during dinner there was a more upscale/trendy vibe. My favorites at Meze include their hummus, the Karni Yarik (stuffed eggplant), Midye Tava (fried mussels), and the Sigara Boregi (stuffed pastry). The zucchini pancakes didn't have much flavor but those were the only item I wouldn't order again.
The one snag was when we were making reservations for our group of 8 and they at first would not allow us to make a reservation unless we commited to a pricey fixed menu. They eventually allowed us to make a reservation and just order from the regular menu but the whole phone conversation was kinda weird.
I have had delightful experiences every time I brunch at Meze. The staff is always friendly and brings lovely service. The place is clean, and the music is a nice background treat too. I have always been seated immediately, and the complimentary deeelicious banana bread muffins are brought promptly for my enjoyment. I recommend the french toast, which is alllmost as good as La Fourchette's two doors down. The eggs Florentine and potatoes are par. I think what keeps this place on my radar is the FREE BELLY DANCING CLASSES ON SUNDAY NIGHTS!
I recommend this nook. Go and Enjoy!
I find myself here often.
Meze is a Turkish-themed (and I suspect Turkish-owned and operated, although I'm not sure) restaurant/bar/location for nightly activities. The first floor's french doors open up to an outside patio area, which is lovely in the warmer weather. The bar inside is chic and sleek, and there's always funky, interesting, chill music floating down from the high ceilings. The second floor is more like a terrace on your way to the third floor, which has another bar and low seating. A huge (but unobtrusive) black and white photo of Istanbul is the backdrop for the second story seating. The lighting is dim but pleasant.
The food is really good. I have tried probably about half their menu and have not yet been disappointed. The choices defnitely have a Turkish feel, which differentiates this mezze (mezza/meze/whatever) from, say, Lebanese Taverna's, and are carefully prepared. It therefore does not feel like street food (no bowl o'hummus with carelessly cut pita) but like elegant, filling appetizers. I particularly liked the red lentil soup, kirmizi beyaz (roasted red pepper with cheese), su borege (bread + cheese), fried calamari, and kuzu pirzola (Rack of lamb. Seriously delicious.)
I have had brunch there once, and it was excellent. I didn't expect them to have a strong brunch menu, but I was pleasantly surprised with the amazing french toast. And the coffee was served stylishly and at just the right temperature.
The waiters are usually very prompt, although a few time we've had to wait a long time to place our order. Since it's such a small space, it's easy to flag them down, though. Meze seems to attract a slightly posher (and more often above-college-age) crowd than the usualy Adams Morgan denizens. I like that I can go in a nice outfit and not feel overdressed or like everyone else just came from Dr. Porter's English 101 class.
The thing that puts Meze high on my "Let's go to..." list is the variety of nighttime offerings: Monday is tango lessons + milonga, Saturday is international night with a wide, crowd-pleasing variety of pop music and Sunday is belly dancing (although don't go expecting to learn how to belly dance...the class is free, and you get what you pay for.) I frequent the Monday tango, which is excellent because of the teachers and low-pressure milonga afterwards. It's a great place to eat, drink, dance, watch, talk, and chill.
One of my favorite brunch places, and usually no line. Staff are really cool.
4 Stars for no rain.
Kidding.
4 Stars for free breakfast.
Kidding again.
4 Stars for awesome Waffles w/ fresh fruits, it was nice and fluffy and delicious all the way though. This coming from a carnivore that usually devours extra bacon for breakfast/brunch. Its not often I'm satiated by a diet of flour and fruits, but I definitely was in Meze.
P.S. I expected to treat my sister for breakfast. The fact that she was willing to split 1/2 almost felt like I had a free meal. Almost.
Moment of silence for Mo Bay Cafe which used to be in this same building. And....I'm OK now.
Meze serves middle eastern tapas. Like spanish tapas, Meze's menu has hot and cold offerings. There are about 30 meze/tapa options -- I suggest selecting from these instead of ordering any of the entrees. That way you get to taste more of a variety of flavors, I recommend the hummus, the grape leaves and, zucchini pancakes.
A restaurant doesn't have to hit every single note in order for me to appreciate it, but when it does, they have found themselves a new loyal customer.
Meze executes consistently well both in terms of the food that is served and the experience. I've only ever been for a late lunch or for dinner. I've also come by at night when it turns into a lounge/bar but I will stick to reviewing the food experience.
First. The dishes I've had were all perfectly seasoned and cooked. The seasoning and flavors were all exceptional because they all enhance the flavor of the dish without overwhelming it, or kind of sitting on top. The lamb is a perfect case of this. I know lots of people who do not like lamb, because the flavor of it is difficult to enhance and draw out really well. And Meze does lamb really well because the lamb tastes *great* but still tastes like lamb, and not meaty spices.
Everything is also cooked perfectly. Meats are tender and juicy. Pastries are delicate and flaky. You get the point. And the ingredients themselves are fresh and flavorful--perfectly Mediterranean.
I also think this place is a great value. It's not cheap, but for what you're paying, it's quality. The portions are also really reasonable--you can easily finish an entree because it's not an obscene amount of food. This might be my favorite part about dining at Meze--I get gourmand-worthy food at a price I can afford because I'm not having a pound and a half of meat thrown at me. I cannot, off the top of my head, think of another restaurant that walks this fine line.
I also think the food and level of service is perfectly calibrated to the atmosphere. The decor is tasteful but the mood is a step slower than everyone else's rushing down 18th Street. And everything else, from the service to the dining area, reflects that as well.
What can I say, I love this place.
This place has THE best french toast I have had anywhere in the city HANDS DOWN! It was only $8 and the crust was crispy and buttery, and the bread was so sweet and cinnamoney and fresh. $8 for amazing french toast is my favorite thing ever. For comparative purposes Busboys and Poets has a $6 french toast, but it's mediocre- just bread dipped in batter and nothing special, but it's good and worth $6, no more. Okay I'm done with the french toast. Moving on.....
I need to make a big deal out of a minor detail: The grapes weren't really fresh, and they were green grapes, not red. I tought this was a bit odd because green grapes are sour and when I think fresh fruit with french toast I think red grapes. Okay I'm done with the grapes.... moving right along.....
Anyways, the patio is really nice and good for people watching. The chairs were super uncomforable and don't really allow you to sit back and relaz without the hard wood panel digging into you. Comfort and ambiance is important so I subtracting a star for this.
Their Traditional Turkish breakfast looked awesome- hard boiled eggs, cheeses, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and pastrami and beef sausage. I am going to try this next.....
I came here for a Thursday happy hour and was really enjoying the outdoor seating and the wine selection. A glass of "menage e trois" was almost as good as actually having a threesome (just kidding, I'm married). I also liked the appetizer selection and how they had a few good veg options. The hummus here is pretty darn good too.
This turkish restaurant is a solid standby in Adams Morgan because you always get great food that should cost you more. I've been with big groups and on date(s) and have never had a bad dish. Everything tastes fresh made and has a special flare. I'm drooling just thinking of their hummus. Other reviewers mentioned tapas (which are all around $6), but they also have entrees, which are all under $20. Their lamb is cooked right - I've never had dry lamb here. The vegetarian plates are great - my favorite is the grape leaves.
Insider tips: If you're lucky, your party of 2 can get the spot on the 2nd floor that overlooks the tables and bar below - it's very private and fun to catch the all the action. Also, the 3rd floor has a swank lounge bar that I've never seen too crowded.
This place has really good south american food. It's a little pricey but you'll be satisfied with the food and service. I had never had south american food before going to meze and was pleasantly impressed. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and were helpful with reccommendations. Many of the appetizers and entres were homemade, and slowly cooked. There was no cheap premade and unfrozen taste. The spices in the food were perfect, not to bland and not too spicy. It has a small but cozy front patio. I also heard late on weekends it has live entertainment.
Choose outdoor seating if possible. The name of this place means small portions or something like it. All their items except the entrees are 'tapas' style portions. We had
dolma - they contain the baby raisins so they are a bit sweet. They are one bite size
zuchhini pancake - they tasted good ut were a bit cold. so not sure if it was freshly made. Was told that they are not served hot or warm, but have had similar to these pancakes and have had them warm or atleast at room temp and not below.
sigar something - this was one of the better tasting dishes. filled with feta and dill.
red lentil meatballs - warning these are cold, really cold. didnt feel it was a great combination of red lentils and burgers. these are not fried.
red pepper with gruyere - wasnt bad
bread - warm
beers = efes - did the job for the evening
overall: two and a half stars to 3...
Being from Cyprus, I cannot begin to describe how good the food is and how much I miss it. I have to admit I was surprised when my friend and I were greeted by a Turkish waiter, but seeing as how Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines are quite similar, I was quite pleased.
It's been a year since I've eaten here so I don't really remember what we had, possibly random meze items. Meze is the Greek/Turkish version of Spanish tapas, so although the portions are small, they are meant to be shared and you usually get a large number of dishes. We both liked our food and the fact that we were sitting outside almost made me feel like I was at a tavern back home!
Ive eaten here a few times for dinner and brunch. It seems to get active in the evenings and its harder to get a seat, but when you can, its great to sit outside and enjoy the turkish mezes or the continental brunches. I like both but am most surprised at how well they do both! I dont know Turkish food so I wont try to rattle off the different dishes, but they are for the most part great. And the french toast with fresh fruit is really phenomenal. This place is probably the best restaurant in Adams Morgan and deserves a try from anyone heading to the area for dinner or brunch.
I've only been there for drinks, but I adore this place.
Once again - another posh hangout in Adams Morgan (sometimes the sweet places are few and far between in this area).
The servers are chill & friendly. Candles on each table - always a win for me because it sets a great atmosphere. The bathrooms are cool (small- but in the women's room they utilized a feng shui aspect and covered the entire wall in mirror to make it seem bigger). The decor, design, and art on the walls all make it a hot place to be seen.
I only wish they had shisha!
If you go upstairs on the weekends, be prepared for something a little less sophisticated but still pretty fun. A DJ spins all the typical international and hip-hop tunes, mixing Rhianna and Shakira up with Turkish and Pakistani music.
The Mojitos are excellent. I've always hated Mojitos, but Meze serves them up stylishly and deliciously... can't hate on that! They have tons of flavors to choose from, all made fresh and lacking that gross tongue-smacking action after you take a sip.
I've never eaten anything from here, so I will definitely be back to try it soon.
A small group of us came here for brunch today. Let's just say that after tasting the calamari one night I wasn't in the mood to eat here, but majority rules. I had a chicken sandwich (Apollo) that had tomato and hummus. It was really good! Two people ordered the Istanbul burger and were raving about it. The omlette (don't know which one) was too greasy. Another person ordered the steak sandwich thing and enjoyed it. Service was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the food. I will probably not be back for brunch (slim pickins since I don't like eggs), but I will come back to try some other lunch/dinner stuff.

ok food. The wait staff are horrible. The lady came back and cried because we didn't leave over 18% for a tip. She demanded we leave more. CRAZY!!! Don't go here.
I can only speak towards their brunch menu, but look for an updated review once I go back for other meals (which I surely will). This place has a great patio area out front and a slick, modern interior with a french art nouveau twist. The menu has an assortment of Mediterranean dishes, and a stellar brunch menu. They have a few creative omelettes and some outstanding french toast that comes piled with fresh fruit. My fiancee got the Melon Berry Boat, which was a skinned half a melon, cut into a decorative bowl, filled with AMAZINGLY fresh, tasty berries. Seriously, some of the best fruit I have had in a while, I assume they source organic or local produce. The bloody marys are a tad bland, but I just happen to like mine with horseradish, worchestershire, and loads of pepper, so I am not the best judge. Overall this is a cute little place, with great food thats fairly affordably priced.
I have never had food at Meze, but I have been here twice late night on the weekend, when every other place in Adams Morgan is packed with skeezy men trying to prey on young women. In comparison to generic, lackluster places like Tom Tom's, Brass Monkey, Bourbon, etc. Meze (the upstairs) is a place that plays fun Euro-pop that's fun to dance to. It's the type of music (Bob Sinclar, etc.) where the only thing to do is get ridiculous. The space is pretty small, but never seems too crowded. Maybe I'm only giving it such a good rating because the other bars in Adams Morgan tend to be so "meh".
I went here for half price bottles of wine night. I can't remember anything that memorable about the food though. Hummus was good. Zucchini pancakes were not that great. We sat outside on the patio and it was very nice. The wine was also good. I did spill a bottle of red wine on the guy sitting next to me. He was pretty nice about it.
great food at reasonable prices. the turkish coffee is too strong for me though
I've only come here for late-night drinking. Came here with people from my program, took up most of the second floor. The DJ's music is very loud (too loud in fact), and nothing too original...but current music is appreciated. The mojitos are some of the best I've had and I end up always having a good time here. A good feel to the second floor dancefloor.
Mojito, mojato, soon you'll be blotto! A great drink on a warm day, at a great spot nestled amongst the Chic Derelict that is Adams Morgan. Meze has a small but inviting patio, and the open-front style which allows the restaurant/bar to spill onto the patio and 18th street, and for the patio to flow into the restaurant. It's one, big happy serving of tapas, middle-east style. If you can snag a table outside, DO SO! Inside gets cramped. Look hip and trendy but not snobbish at Meze. The perfect balance of yuppie posh and college slosh.
