I stopped here for a quick lunch before heading to the American Visionary Art Museum. The atmosphere was cute and comfortable, and the wait staff was very friendly and helpful.

My spinach salad was huge and delicious, loaded with poached pears and red onion, amongst other veggies. It was well priced too. It was a little confusing figuring out whether I was supposed to fill my own coffee or not though. Also, for someplace that calls itself a coffeehouse, the coffee could have been better.

A very quaint little coffee bar in the heart of Federal Hill. The coffee was ok but the food was awesome. I recommend the Tweaty Bird omelet if your watching your weight.   We met up with some friends for brunch and found the atmosphere very warm and inviting. Its not the fanciest place but a great place for a good brunch.

A friend of mine and I went to Metropolitan for brunch; we were excited to try something new and thought this quaint little restaurant would be the perfect choice.  How wrong we were.  When we walked in, the downstairs area was packed and tables were either occupied or dirty.  We went upstairs to sit, only to be told that the section was closing.  This was fine, but the waitress was less than friendly (i.e. surly) and her demeanor made us both feel rather unwelcome.  Regardless, we went downstairs to eat, but only found dirty tables.  We sat down at one, thinking that someone would be by to clean it and take our orders.  We were wrong.  We waited for over ten minutes without an employee so much as blinking in our direction.  This is rather odd, given the fact that one of the waitresses already knew we were there.  In fact, we saw her pass by our table repeatedly.

I don't like sitting at a dirty table, but understand when wait staff get busy; I waited tables for over five years.  There was no excuse, however, for the staff to ignore us completely.  If one of the wait staff had merely said, "Hello, I'm really busy, but will be with you in a moment," I would have waited without hesitation or dismay.   But after waiting and waiting for service, we became annoyed and thought it best to leave.  Why stay somewhere where you are made to feel unwelcome?  This is a shame because the food did look quite good.  Instead, we headed to Fells Point to Slainte where we knew we would be treated well, and we were.

It's unfortunate that the Metropolitan staff treat potential customers so poorly.  Perhaps we simply had a bad waitress, but I don't know if that will justify trying it a second time.

Really nice bar /coffee house / restaurant located in Federal Hill just a few blocks away from the harbor. They have a really good spinach salad and pita pizza. The service was good, no wait for a table. The menu has a great selection of sandwiches, pastas, salads, pizza, etc. There is a bar downstairs where you can get drinks and a coffee and smaller dining room upstairs. They also have a few table outside on the sidewalk with with waiter service which is nice. Definitely a nice place to stop in for a meal.
