I've stopped here several times for a healthy lunch and always been pleased.   The nice thing about Metro Fresh is if you are vegan, vegetarian or on some kind of a gluten free or no sugar diet, you still have a lot of great options at Metro Fresh.  It's so hard to go out to eat when you are on a restricted diet, but at Metro fresh they have all sorts of options.  I generally find their salads and soups are better than their pre-made sandwiches.  I like their patio and in door seating, and it's a great place to grab lunch before a trip to Trader Joes or the movies.

If I had a complaint, it's just that it's a little pricy to do more than every once in a while.  I understand that healthy yummy food is typically not cheap, but it does seem that metro fresh is a slightly over priced.

This place was yummy!  The menu changes every day (?).  I think.  So, you walk in and they have the day's selection on a chalkboard.  Everything is pre-made, so you can see what you're ordering.  The prices may seem just a tad high, but the portions are HUGE.  They have a nice assortment of things, so there is something for everyone.  I just happened to be carbin' it up the day I went with a friend, so I ordered half a sandwich (with goat cheese and avocado) and some noodle yums (with mushrooms and Asian/sesame dressing).  On the other side, my friend is a rabbit and ordered a salad with chicken.  Okay, an omnivorous rabbit.  They probably served her, like, two and a half chicken breasts, so she had left overs.  This was all around $10.

It can get extremely busy at lunchtime, so make your decisions quickly, or the guys behind the counter get a little edgy.

Went to MetroFresh for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant is at the edge of Virginia Highlands and close to Piedmond Park.

The place is known for its healthy food. For lunch they had salads and sandwiches. The most popular by far of the sandwiches was a turkey wrap. You can get them either as a full sandwich or half with a side "salads". The sides are fresh vegetable "salads". Everything is made fresh and the the taste is great. Great variety, taste and it is also healthy:-)

The restaurant has in-door and out-door seating (the patio is not large, but OK). The setting is bright and overall a great way to have lunch.

The food is not cheap, but overall it is worth it.

MetroFresh is a pretty darn good lunch place.  I just started working near Piedmont Park and whenever I forget to bring my lunch and don't feel like getting supplies at the grocery store, I pop over to MetroFresh.  I've never been completely WOW-ed by anything I've gotten, but it is always a solid meal and very fast if I get there before the lunch rush.  The sandwich portions are such that I can generally have half for lunch and half for dinner with a little extra of my own food to round out the meal - this definitely adds to the value of the meal.  That the menu changes daily forces me to try  different things as I'm the sort of eater who will find one thing I love and stick with it.

Great for a quick, reasonably tasty meal.

Seemingly complicated food that's simply delicious.  Great location, friendly staff, natural ingredients that are paired nicely to make TASTY meals.  This is a popular Midtown eatery that has inside and patio seating.  Can get very busy at lunch, and after dining here, I fully understand why.

Their whole grain breads are moist, their cheeses are atypical and their Kale salad was phenomenal.  Quick tip:  order a water instead of a soft drink and you get a cookie.  That's legit.

I am a fan but my only two complaints are the soups are over-salted. We've tried four different soups in the last few days and they were all heavily salted. Also, they are pretty expensive for a simple express cafe. I learned we can taste the soups before we get them and I recommend that.
With that all being said, it is still a good place with great veggie options. They also carry cupcakes from The Cupcake Factory!

In an attempt to stick to a quasi-vegetarian, low carb, no fried food diet, MetroFresh has become my saving grace at lunch. Despite their ever-changing menu, I know that I can always get something that will fit the very narrow scope of what I'm looking for. From veggie sandwiches to kale salads to gazpacho, I've been very satisfied with all of my meals here.

It certainly isn't cheap, with lunch easily breaking the $10 mark, even before you get a drink... but it's worth it for something this fresh and flavorful. Plus, the service is always incredibly friendly and you'll always leave here just a little bit happier: it's a cheery spot, for sure.

I'm obsessed with this place. The food tastes homemade, and the vibe in there is really friendly and relaxed. I think the food is a bit fresher in the beginning of the lunch hour, but that's to be expected when you're seeking out that homemade goodness.

And and I always get a chocolate chip cookie. Duh.

I have been living in Midtown for over a year, and never step in for having lunch. However, this saturday I wasn't feeling like cooking and I decided to try this place out, and I don't regret my decision at all!!
The food is really well cooked and there are several options from where to choose and they all look pretty good and healthy.
The only downsize of the place it that it might be a little expensive for a lunch ($10-11), but I would definetively go in again.

This is one of my favorite Midtown lunch spots - I love that the menu changes daily, the selections are creative, and I always feel good when I leave b/c everything is so healthy here.

It can be daunting though b/c you have to decide between several good choices for soups, salads, and sandwiches - which is why I often end up asking the staff for their favorites :) It might also help to check their website beforehand for the daily specials - or even better, sign up for their daily emails to help you decide whether to make a trip to MetroFresh that day :)

This is also a great place if you have special dietary needs. Every menu item is coded as fish, meat, vegan, vegetarian, egg, dairy, and/or gluten-free.

I always get the combo which includes any 2 items (soup, salad, 1/2 sandwich) - it's a little pricey at $9.95. I think I've seen the price increase at least 2-3 times since Dec 2010 but the portions may have increased, too?? You can definitely make two meals if you try :)

To give you an idea what kind of soups they have, here's a list of what I've tried:
    - Mitchili (Mitchell's turkey chili) is good.
    - Chipotle Ginger Butternut Squash was very delicious and had a nice kick.
    - I think my all-time favorite was their Cajun Lobster & Rice - it had CHUNKS of lobster ... yum!!
    - Lemon Tarragon Chicken w/ Couscous had lots of stuff in it, and a great soup if you're not feeling well.
    - Sweet Pea w/ Dill was sweet & yummy.
    - Creamy Dill Sunchoke was comforting.

    And what about the salads?
    - Lemon Poached Brussel Sprouts w/ Roasted Cashews is good if you're a brussel sprouts fan.
    - Dried Plums, Cherries, Pomegranate, Arugula, & Bleu Cheese was good but I remember that day I had ordered a soup which was also on the sweet side.
    - Another sweet one was Wheatberries w/ Peaches, Dried Fruit, and Baby Arugula w/ Honey Mustard Dressing.
    - Fresh Corn & Grape Tomatoes w/ Green Peppers, Cotiga, Cheese, Cilantro, & Red Chili Aioli - loved that everything in this salad esp. the corn tasted very fresh.
    - Roasted Grapes, Endive, Bleu Cheese, Walnuts, & Balsamic Dressing - that was good, too.
    - So was the Roasted Eggplant, Artichoke Hearts, and Spinach.

I think I tried just one of the sandwiches - the reviews were raving about the creamy avocado so I got the Avocado, Tomato, Brie, and Basil Dressing on Challah Bread. Deliciousness.

Overall 4 stars b/c I love variety and everything here is good for me :)

FYI - they're located in the same strip mall as Trader Joe's. I'd recommend avoiding the peak 12-1 lunch hour b/c of the lines, limited seating, and finding parking can be challenging.

Better than I expected. I really thought it'd be creative sounding food that'd end up being not very fresh as well as bland and overall unexciting.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was prepared well, with overall good flavors and definitely fresh. Prices are decent and the menu changes seems to rotate frequently.

I'd definitely recommend the soups if you come here.

    Dearest Mitchell and Rockstar,

Your daily specials are music to my soul. From the veggie trailmix (always delish) to the homemade soups, salads and sandwiches... how can I possibly resist? Just last week you offered a salted caramel coco-crispy treat...Though I was too full to taste, my gal pal adored.

And did I mention your chic new make over?! Well done! Continue making your magic -- you have a loyal follower in me!

    Pure Freshness!
Atlanta is finally getting really nice "Whole Foods" Restaurants/cafes that serve really good wholesome food, Metrofresh is definitely one of them.  On my recently visit, I had excellent, made from scratch turkey chili, a beautiful green mixed salad with fresh fruit, in the salad, homemade lemonade...I was in heaven..cant' forget those delicious dinner rolls.  It's  a cool, laidback environment, the menu changes daily and they do serve Brunch.  I've found a new spot to spend some time, chill, read a good book, while grubbing on "fine" cuisine, you know what I mean.

We ended up at MetroFresh as an accident - every other brunch place was crazy busy. MetroFresh had a nice selection of vegetarian friendly sandwiches, salads, and brunch items. The food was good, not great and the service was a little odd. Since it was our first time I felt we were looked at like idiots because we were asking questions about the menu and options. I also found it a tad expensive. Would probably go again if in the area, but it would not be my first choice.

The neighborhood needed this place, and I'm so happy that they arrived.
It's great for healthy food on the run.  I rarely dine inside, but I like the feel of the place, it's simple & clean with great natural light.  The menu changes daily, but I can always count on whatever their veggie sandwich of the day is to satisfy my lunch craving.

    Soup! Soup! Sou-sou-soup!

    EVERYBOD-DAY!

Okay, it's not quite that annoying song about shots, but that's kind of the feeling I get when I think about coming here. The soup is so good. After eating here for the first time with Devon O. I became quite addicted to all things white bean.

They have a lunch special and it was actually more than I could eat. Expect to pay a lot for everything, but even for two of us it was less than $30. The dining room is great for sitting around and catching up with friends. We were here for a while and finally gave up our seat so some of the others could sit and enjoy.

I have a friend who adores this place so I finally signed up for the daily email to keep me abreast of the specials.

I really like that there are fresh specials daily that feel less processed/oily than the prepared foods at Whole Foods and are quicker and cheaper than sit down restaurants.

The variety in ingredients is really wonderful. I have had a few misses with items but for the most part I have really enjoyed everything I've gotten here.

There are so few quick healthy options so I love this one and will return often....

My friend Anna just introduced me to this FAB place today, as we were looking for a quick place to grab a bite before tackling the rest of our busy Sundays. The prices are similar to a Panera Bread but the food looks as fresh as the name of this joint.

Anna and I were definitely in the mood for soup so she had the Moroccan lentil & I had the Maple Curry Sweet Potato soup.  Once spoonful of my soup and it was "yummy in my tummy" until the last spoonful!

I was told that the food in their case is always updated and changes per what's "fresh" each day.  I asked our cashier if they had any other locations and he was pleased to tell me that they will be featured at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.  Very happy to hear that and look forward to checking out their daily selections upon my next visit.

The food is fresh, love the fact that they have a "fill your own glass" drink station for tap water and when ordering soup, you get a large enough serving to fill your appetite!

I will most definitely return to this fine cafe next time I'm in Midtown and passing through on Monroe.

I'm surprised by all the four-star reviews. I came here with a friend before the movies and was disgusted by my food. I ordered the soup and half sandwich. The turkey chili sort of disintegrated as you took each bite because of how many times it must have been reheated. The half sandwich came in saran wrap and the bread already looked soggy. I didn't try the sandwich and ate barely half the chili. It wasn't worth $5, much less the $10 it all cost. I left feeling ill and unappetized.

I'm a fan! Fresh Soups, Sides, and Sandwiches available daily. I was really impressed with the creativity put into each item on the menu. For a place that at first glance looks like a modern sandwich boutique, I was impressed with the personal attention both myself and my food received.

My first time coming and I find out they just celebrated their 5 year anniversary! The menu changes daily depending on what fresh ingredients are available. I look forward to stopping in soon for a quick and tasty lunch!

Soo... eating out and eating healthy (i.e. changing your body, diet, life what-have-you) is kind of difficult in a city where so many delicious things are fried. MetroFresh has become a staple for me. I just love it. It is not expensive, reasonable lunch option with hearty portions of fresh foods. The menu changes daily so you never quite know what you'll get when you walk in, but I've always been delighted and have never struck out in ordering. HIGHLY recommend this place for health conscious eating when you want to eat out. They also sell their week's soups on Saturday which is a fantastic deal that I use over and over in the next week.

My sister loves this place, so when we were both irritable and hungry, we swung into the parking lot at MetroFresh before heading to the grocery store.  Had I not needed a high protein meal, I would have chosen the veggie wrap.  Alas, I had to try the chicken salad, which included jalapenos and was wrapped in a spinach tortilla.  It was okay.  I also tried the peach caprese.  I think it may have been better if the peaches were a little riper.  My favorite part of the meal was the fresh-squeezed, "large" glass of orange juice.  I devoured everything out of hunger rather than zeal for the flavor.

My sister informed me that the menu is constantly changing.  I wouldn't mind trying something TOTALLY different next time.

This place has gone a little down hill in my opinion. They don't have the food selection they once did. When I go there & order, often times they've run out of the item I want to order most. The last two times I've been there, the rolls they've given me for my soup have been stale. If you're going to call yourself MetroFRESH, the food should be fresh, no?

I still love the concept, just wish they worked on the food selection and fresh food inventory. And the rolls.

I LOVE MetroFresh. Simple as that. I was lucky enough to have my girlfriend Jenny, introduce me to this little jewel. My first visit was on there five year anniversary party. They treated us to a beautiful feast and tasty wine. I became a believer that night and have gone twice since then.

I love that the menu changes daily to reflect what fresh ingredients come in house. The soups are AMAZING! I've had a few of the salads as well as sandwiches and have always enjoyed everything I've ordered.

Overall, a great addition to my neighborhood and I love feeling like I'm eating well. Keep it up guys.

If MetroFresh were a person, he'd be a younger, overly earnest gay dude who, because it's a rainy Monday morning and he looks you right in the eye, smiles, and says, "Hey there! How are YOOOOOU?!" you think he's either high on crank or completely full of shit. But then you get to know him and realize, holy crap, he's actually LIKE that! So you become less suspicious of him actually learn to like him a little.  You'd hang out with him more often if only he were a little less chipper because, c'mon dude, life is nasty, brutish, and short. No, I don't need a hug.  Fine, I'll hug me, but don't expect me to LIKE it.

    Damn, I liked it.

That's MetroFresh as a person.  MetroFresh the restaurant is green (as in the color, not the environmental movement) and happy and serves pretty good food. I was suspicious at first, but their buy one/get one free summer entree special won me over since it made their somewhat higher price point more palatable.  Yes, I said you can be pricey, MetroFresh.  No, MetroFresh, don't ply me with your dill and tomato gazpacho.  Fine, I'll EAT your soup, but don't expect me to LIKE it.

    Damn, I liked it.

If I'm not mistaken the owner worked at Souper Jenny before opening his own place. The concept is a little different b/c MetroFresh offers soups, salads AND a few entrees (which Jenny doesn't)

I am still fairly new to Metrofresh so this is just my first impression (I do plan to go there again and will most certainly update my review).

I get their menu emailed to me daily and there are usually several appealing things on it.  I like the emails - they are fun to me.

The food is fresh and it is healthy.  I like that - it almost makes me not feel guilty about eating out when I know that I should be staying home and eating healthy food.  I enjoy eating healthy food but you just are not going to get that decadent, delicious, melty-cheesy, saucy, delightfully bad-for-you sandwich here.  They have very tasty sandwiches that also taste healthy - in a good way.  And, that's OK because that's their thing and I really should be eating healthier, anyway.

They have a lot of daily soup selections and I definitely need to try more of them.  I tried the pumpkin bisque and chicken noodle - both were very nice (and also tasted healthy).  UPDATE: Recently tried the Chicken Tortilla Soup - delicious!  This is my favorite so far.

This place is good because it really is somewhere I can go frequently and not really feel too bad because I am eating out too much.

This is exactly the type of place I like to eat at for lunch. I'm a huge fan of Souper Jenny, but it's too much of a drive to go often. Metro Fresh is a great substitute, and it's within walking distance of my place in Midtown.

I subscribe to their daily emails, and it's fun to read over their always-changing menu. I'm a health nut and have always wanted to try prepared salads at restaurants, but most places usually offer only heavy mayonnaise-based chicken and tuna salads. Metro Fresh is one of the only places I've had trouble picking just two of their options! A triple combo plate costs $12 (without a drink), so I try to stick with the 2-sides for $7.70. It's a fresh, light lunch that doesn't leave me feeling guilty, bloated, and ready for a nap.

All in all, it's good, healthy food that changes daily, the service is professional and friendly, and the prices are ok. I highly recommend it, and I suggest subscribing to their daily menu email!!

MetroFresh is the Souper Jenny of Midtown, offering delicious, fresh, overpriced salads, soups and sandwiches. The menu rotates daily with usually divine choices.

I most recently attacked a salad comprising mixed field greens, squash, peppers, mushrooms and goat cheese, dotted with the most delicious basil vinaigrette. I wish MetroFresh sold that by the bottle! I envied my mother's salad: baby spinach, juicy blackberries, kiwi, blueberries and shaved Parmesan.

MetroFresh makes sandwich preparation look easy, but I can never recreate the seemingly simple turkey on a pita, or ham on a soft roll.

You get what you pay for: chic sandwiches, snobby soups and salads dripping with elan (and dressing).

I was famished one night after work and a trip to Dr. Greco, and thought I would go grocery shopping at Trader Joe's, and pick up something yummy to eat for dinner. Remembering the sage advice that you should never go grocery shopping while hungry, I ducked into Metro Fresh in the same shopping center.

It took me a while to decide, but I left with a smoked turkey, basil, and sun dried tomato sandwich and a quinoa salad that had black currents, mandarin oranges, and almonds. Everything smelled so yummy in there I had a hard time choosing what to order.

I would recommend this place for lunch though - the salad was cold (intentionally), and the sandwich wasn't warm. It did taste more like a "lunch" than something I would want for dinner. Regardless, it was very tasty and left me full - I could have survived on just the sandwich.

When the days become October-dreary, it's time for a revitalizing bowl of soup. Rated one of Atlanta's best places for a cheery dish, I am pleased to agree with the reviews. While I wanted to try everything on their daily-updated menu, I opted for the Chicken Provencal Soup and a Tomato and Avocado Sandwich on Kalamata Olive Bread with Feta Spread and Baby Arugula.

I was craving Chicken Noodle Soup, but MetroFresh's version was more than satisfying. Chunks of stewed tomato mingled with soft shredded chicken and a smattering of olives, which added a subtle saltiness. The sandwich was equally satisfying and so big I could only eat half of it. Rather than mayonnaise, a creamy layer of feta spread added an earthy zing to round out the mellow avocado. (Of course, the kalamata olive bread was a nice compliment to the soup, too.) If I had room for dessert, and the line wasn't so long, I would have tried the banana bread. It looked moist and well-studded with walnuts.

A word about arrival: Get there just before noon, otherwise you will have a bit of wait. However, service in general seemed speedy and the staff accommodating. In addition to offering fresh food and quick service, MetroFresh is also low-key. They use real dishes, which keep things homey, and there are a smattering of small clean tables that await those who want to dine-in. For under $10,  I say pull up a seat and savor a bite from MetroFresh on your next lunch outing.

As soon as I walked into MetroFresh, I sure felt more fresh.  Talk about the beautiful interior design!  Nice blend of green and white - with just the right amount of light passing through the window.  With small flower vase on each table, this place has a cute, little restaurant feeling to it.

This concept is quite new: Fresh and healthy food, yet served at the speed of a fast food restaurant.  Since I'm a person who gets into Food Rut often - in other words, I get sick of eating same kind of food - I really appreciate how they change their menu everyday.  So if you are health-conscious, but got little time to chow down, make MetroFresh your zone.  Personally, the portion was a bit small, but people's opinion of "portion" differs greatly.  Oh, and one last thing, please remember, fresh and healthy never comes cheap..

    I can't believe I haven't written a review about this place yet...

Soup isn't the easiest thing to find in Atlanta. Sure there's Souper Jenny and the Soup Kitchen, but when it comes the sheer quantity of places to choose from, you're not really left with much. Soup Kitchen, I'm not a huge fan of, and, well, Souper Jenny is in Buckhead, and I don't find myself there that much.

This place does it like I think most restaurants should... It's simple menu (though diverse) and there are 3 main categories; soup, salad, and sandwiches. You can get combos of whatever you want, and the menu changes constantly. It's really seems like a nice simple way to run a place.

Soups - There are usually about 5-6 to choose from which is nice. Diverse in dietary needs, you can get veggie, meat, etc... They're always happy to give you a sample as well to taste from.

Salads - There is always a good range of salads there as well. They range from items like chicken, tuna, greens, pasta, etc... Very nice.

Sandwiches - There are usually two to choose from, one meat and one veggie...

Really the combos here are endless, since they switch things up daily, but I like the simplified menu. Really helps to relieve the stress of ordering the right thing.

Today I had the tomato basil soup and the london broil sandwich. The soup was flavorful, though I have had ones with a little better texture. The sandwich however was just tasty. Nothing over the top, but a nice solid lunchtime meal. It's pretty easy going here which I enjoy, especially when I am grabbing a quick bite by myself. A fresh and healthy alternative to the "norm".

    Light, Open, and Refreshing!

You will come into this place feeling torn down and worn out and you'll leave feeling enlightened and rejuvenated!

Everything about this restaurant screams fresh and healthy. The menu changes daily so you can probably spend your $8 daily lunch budget here every day of the week and never see an item being repeated. You just mix and match between side items, soups, sandwiches, cookies - all of which are displayed up front at the counter.

Most of the food is stuff you would have never touched as a child - too many vegetables and sauces all tanged into one interesting mix of a salad served on green rimmed white china like something from a church ladies luncheon.

The server offered me tastes of their two soups of the day:

White grape gazpacho with almonds - really really different because it was grape based and not tomato).
    or
Chilled prickly pear -  which was PINK! (a slight memory from Bridgette Jone's Diary when she creates blue soup).

What really got me wanting to come back is the sweet potato salad with tangy maple dressing with walnuts and raisins - Yum, I'm craving it now!

And, even better is the atmosphere of this place. Crisp lines and black framed photos of avocados and apples placed around the Ikea framed tables and chairs. The place is open through the day too, so if you put off lunch till 3 pm (like I do so many times) and have no one to go out with, this place always has someone else eating alone so you won't feel out of place or awkward. And they have outdoor seating so you can stare at the urban Trader Joe fans running in and out with their fresh parsnips and baguettes.

So live your life a little bit healthier one veggie at at a time, and give MetroFresh a chance - it may inspire you to change your life!

Stopped into MetroFresh for a quick lunch the other day. Generally we spend a bit more than most looking over any given menu, checking out all the offerings. Here, almost immediately upon walking in we were ready to take on the amazing fig/goat cheese/basil sandwich that drew our attention right away. And a decision well made - a perfect combination of not-too-strong goat cheese with the sweetness of the fig and basil had us at first bite. Since they mix up the menu pretty much daily, I can't wait to see what awesome items we might see next time.

The owner/chef Mitchell came by, with that friendly, personable, relationship-building personality that I love to see in local favorites of mine. Apparently his chow/lab puppy is in the socializing stage, and is a bit amusingly skiddish.

Everytime we have stopped in at metrofresh they have had some sort of special going on. The thing I love about this place is you dont know what the menu is going to be because they change it every day.

They serve you a plate like you would at a potluck and all the food is freshly made with great ingredients here.

Its a cool place and even though the food is healthy it tastes delicious. I'm lucky this place is close to my house, its always a treat to visit.
