Metro Rapid Line 704
5 reviews for Metro Rapid Line 704
Take the bus, save some gas, save some time.
I love taking the bus. But I hate when the bus is crowded, full of smelly people, late, and expensive. Good thing the 704 is a double so there are plenty of seats, new, one every 8 minutes during peak times, and only $1.25 for an express.
I don't understand all the raves for this bus. It's either constantly late or annoyingly early, and if you catch it at inopportune stops during rush hour, there isn't be any place to sit. And it can be exceedingly slow. Because the 704 it goes down Santa Monica Blvd, it can take over an hour to go from east to west in the evenings. It's hard to feel smug about taking public transportation while sweating like a pig in a crowded bus that's crawling through traffic. Rapid line, you say? Hope you didn't have any place to be tonight.
All that aside, it is one of the best and easiest ways to traverse town if you're not into getting parking tickets or driving around for hours trying to find a non-restricted, well lit area to leave your car. Riding the 704 also offers a unique view of how wealth is distributed in Los Angeles. Just look out the window as the bus rolls through further and further east. Until we get a Metro line worth a damn, I'll see you on the 704.
i'm glad theres trasportation like the rapid buses i get to save money on gas for my car and not only that i can get on time at work. highly recommended to everyone.
If you live in Santa Monica, WeHo, Silverlake or Echo Park you need to get some of this Rapid 704 bus.
Let's say you find yourself in some of these sample situations:
1) You live in WeHo and can't bear the thought of driving your crappy Geo Metro down to the 3rd St. Promenade and fighting for spots in the garages...if you even get one.
2) You live in Santa Monia and that snaggle-toothed heifer you met at the car wash last week is having a wine/get a tattoo party in Silverlake and the thought of driving your boring-ass Jetta through the downtown highway interchange is enough to make you want to take a shower and meet a gal more local.
3) You live super deep in Echo Park and you totally want to get to Trunks in WeHo because they've got great "service", but you just don't want to have to fight for parking.
If any of the above 3 apply to you, the you should hook yourself up and ride this bus. It's super fast and has fewer freaky people than some of the other MTA buses.
Don't half step. Slap your bike on the front of the bus and bring $2.50 for your total roundtrip cost.
This big bendy bus hauls ass and is nice and cool too!
