3 reviews for Metro Espresso Pizza Cafe
Red haired lady is cold and not service oriented. Not a friendly staff. Not not not child friendly. Pizza is below average. Will not return.
Considering its a couple blocks away from my apartment I've been here many many MANY times. And its a pretty standard pizza and sandwich shop. I've always had good experiences grabbing a slice, no its not gourmet and doesn't compare to Anthony's right down the street. But a piece of pepperoni is around $2.50 so its great when you aren't trying to break the bank on lunch. I've also tried some of their sandwiches which are decent, the Cuban was nice. I just wish it came with potato chips or something. I normally get a side salad, they've got some larger salads too for the health conscious, and their house dressing is tangy and sweet. If you live downtown or are doing some shopping in the area Metro Espresso is a great little spot to grab a quick bite and people watch from their sidewalk tables.
Whether you're stopping for lunch, dinner, or a late night snack on your way home from the Stardust Lounge, Metro Espresso is a pizza parlor worth passing on. The slices are large (NY style) and that's not all they offer. You may order pressed sandwiches, pasta dishes, calzones, or standard submarine sandwiches depending on your mood. They also serve upscale coffee drinks and some Italian specialty desserts such as Tiramisu and cannolis. It's not a flashy place. So where they lack in art and décor, they make up for in their food.
