3 reviews for Metro Cafe
I will go back. And yes the waitress was great. so nice. We walked into thte empty place around 5:00pm and she had just sat down with a huge plate of pasta. She didnt seem to mind at all that we interrupted her meal.
I had the angus burger and it was good. some interesting options for fixins like turkey bacon for example. They offer portebella mushrooms, but they were out of portebella. I kinda suspect that they wont have portebella for my burger when i go there next time, but I will have to find out i guess. I'll keep you posted.
my sandwhich kinda fell apart because of the egg roll that they serve. So, I had to resort to fork and knife after using up 3 napkins or risk further embarrassement. I think a burger should or sandwhiches in general should be on a roll that caresses what's inside like a baby in a blanket. I don't like when my sandwhich center ends up all over the plate and all over me. messy.
The desserts do look great, btw
Oh how I love this place. I have this chocolate torte that was TO DIE FOR, but when I went the second time, practically salivating for it, the girl told us that they rotate desserts and they didn't have that, but I ordered a suitable replacement and was happy with it. The service here is EXCELLENT, the waitresses are soooooo sweet, the girl we had last time even offered me some visine because my allergies were tearing my poor little eyes apart.
The atmosphere is quite intimate, a nice place for a date or for an all -girl gab fest (which is how I found out about Metro Cafe in the first place!)
After passing by this place many times, we decided to give it a try for a late lunch. It's a cute place that has some large cushioned chairs with tables as well as some regular and high top tables. There is also a nice garden with tables in the back, but the rain kept us inside. There were 3 tables of two when we arrived and sat down. The waitress took our order right away, we ordered a Grilled Chicken Panini and a Turkey Pesto wrap. The food took about 25 minutes to come out...way too long for a couple of sandwiches and only 4 tables full. The sandwiches came with a side of fries...well it came with a handful of barely warm, soggy Orieda crinkle fries. The ketchup tasted off. As for the sandwiches, the wrap was fresh and tasty. The panini, was grilled perfectly, although the chicken only filled about half the side of the bread. I almost gave Metro 2 stars, but the sandwiches themselves pushed the rating to 3 stars. I don't think I'll be returning for lunch or dinner, but maybe just maybe I'll be back to sample the desserts.
