One Line Summary:  Pretty good food, but not a good value

    Food:  Above Average
Price: Moderate to Expensive (we spent about $75 for two people, including only 1 glass of wine)
Atmosphere: Between dressed up and casual. It has a woodsy motif, some tables, some booths. Fancier than an Olive Garden type place,  but not stuffy.
    Service: Excellent

    Detailed Review:

    --Motivation
I went there with my wife for Valentine's Day 2010.  I had never been before, but was attracted to this restaurant because:
    1.  They take reservations
    2.  I am a procrastinator, and as of Feb 12, had not made any plans for the 14th. I found Mesquite Creek via a popular website that makes online reservations, and was glad they had an Open Table ;-)  Hoping to avoid the dog house, I booked my reservation.
    3.  Their menu (available online) looked good

    --The Food: Appetizer
We ordered the Steak Bites and were very pleased. They were VERY GOOD.  Very tender and flavorful. I recommend them.

    --The Food: Salads
We each ordered the house Mesquite Salad. It was a typical house salad with a tasty vinaigrette. It was good.

    -- The Food: Entrees
One of the Valentine benefits of being married 10 years vs. being on a first date is that you can go ahead and order something that might end up making a bit of a mess. I took full advantage and ordered 1/2 slab of ribs.  They were meaty and tender.  The sauce, purported to be jalapeno BBQ was ok, but kind of boring. I was wondering where the peppers went.  The ribs were good, not great.

My wife ordered a special of the day, almond encrusted fish (I think it was tllapia)  She really enjoyed it. Since I don't care for seafood, I did not try it.  I think she would call it "very good".

    --The Food: Dessert
Dessert was a bit of a disappointment.  I don't recall exactly what it was called, but it was a dense chocolate cake-like blob, which supposedly was filled with hot fudge.  Other places might call this a "chocolate volcano" dessert.  Unfortunately for us, it was an inactive volcano -- no hot fudge inside. The cake was ok, but needed either sauce and/or ice cream. I rate the dessert "so-so".

    --Service:
Our waiter, Bob, was very friendly and helpful.  I have a severe tree nut allergy, and am always a bit nervous at a new restaurant or when ordering new menu items.  Bob was very helpful, checked the vinaigrette dressing ingredients to ensure there was no walnut oil (sometimes found in fancier dressings).  He also came back to confirm when my wife ordered the Almond Crusted Fish to make sure we knew it contained almonds as a precaution.  It sounds minor, but when a stray ingredient could be life-threatening, it is nice to know Bob was looking out for me :-)    Even aside from that, he was attentive without hovering, and friendly yet respectful.

    Conclusion:
I will probably go back to Mesquite Creek again in the future for a bit of variety, but will not be rushing back.  The food was pretty good, but a bit pricey for what we had. There are better values out there to be had.

Went here with a date. Was embarrassed when they didn't have the reservation I had made 4 hours earlier. Then got stuck at a table in the middle of a room and felt like we were on display.

Sat for a good 10 minutes before a waiter came by.

Service was pretty bad for a restaurant of this supposed caliber.

Food was pretty good. The setting is very nice since the updates a few years ago.

I've had better experiences at Outback.

    Sorry

Went here a few times back in the day.  They had the biggest baked potatoes I've ever seen! And tastey too, they coated the skin with a little bit of sea salt for good flavor.  The blooming onion w/ tangy sauce was rather addicting.  The montery chicken was also excellent.

Note: Great place for soccer mom's because they have a 'Soccer Mom Special' on their menu!

Consistently underwhelmed by the quality of food...some reason keep having friends ask to meet there, and keep trying to find anything that's even mediocre.  Beautiful restaurant, but really unimpressed with the food quality and pricing...Can't imagine why we'd go back again.  3 strikes, it's out.

We booked a table thru Open table a couple of weeks ago, & we were Glad we did as the place was packed, they have a very nice bar with live music that looked & Sounded great. They have a nice outside patio area for good weather. In Doors they have a mixture of tables & booths. The menu is a mixture of kinda almost South Western Food & BBQ & some seafood. To the food, well i ordered BBQ ribs & they were OK, The Ribs were meaty & juicy & the sauce on the side was OK. My wife ordered fish & it was awful, not properly cooked & Swimming in some Buttery awfulness. The Waitress noticed very promptly that my wife was unhappy & she instead got some Mesquite smoked Shrimps that were pretty decent.
Based on the food alone i wouldn't go back, but the bar area looked very nice & i think its worth a 2nd shot & Well try something different on the menu

The good - restaurant was very nice decorated and generally very clean.  I guess they remodeled after it was bought out by Andiamo's.

Food was OK.  Got chicken and portabella mushroom fajitas and some potato skins for appetizers.  Potato was good, but wasn't thrilled with the fajitas.  The guacamole on the side was nice, but we had to ask for salsa and it was substandard.  You'd think with any taco or fajita you'd get salsa automatically.

Service was less then stellar.  We waited for at least 10 minutes just to order drinks, and the place was nearly empty.

Don't think I'll go there again for an un-memorable, and somewhat expensive food.

went for lunch with bf's mom, sister and grandmother. the server looked  so confused to see an Asian girl with 3 blonds.
I guess we probably came right when they opened because the place was super empty.  We'd all just finished eating b'fast so none of us were actually hungry for lunch.  They offer half portions on most lunch items so that was perfect.  Grams enjoyed her soup very much and my sandwich was good. There's a large outdoor section and it looks really nice for the summer.

It is just not the same since Andiamo's took it over. Menu classics are gone. Food is expensive and nothing to get excited over. This used to beone of our Wed night after golf league spots.....but we really don't like it anymore.
