This restaurant opened in the late 80's and has been able to survive. I rarely say bad things about locals working hard. I have been to Mesa Hills 3 or 4 times in the last 18 years and always found the enire experience average at best. I wish I had alot of positive to say, unfortunately it is what it is.

I've been in Austin 20 years. I live in resturants. I have had the best and worst and this is truly the worst.
My family and I watched the teen waiters argue over who would wait on us. They took 15 minutes to bring water. The 'slacker' waiter could care less about taking care of us.
The food followed suit. Horrible cold and bland.
Go across the parking lot to Mushashio or China Town.
This place is a bar and nothing more and they don't deserve your money.

Yummy salad, kitschy patio gazebo, slightly overpriced. I was happy to find this place within walking distance when I lived on Greystone. I could barely afford it at the time, but I'm sure most entrees were under $15. My date wasn't so happy with his food, as I recall. I think this is more of a place for older couples to go when they hire a babysitter and don't feel like making the trek downtown to be with the crazy college kids.
This was one of my favorite hangouts during college and thereafter. I would often meet friends here and have a few brew's. Actually I would typically only have one, ostensibly because I was a careful driver but actually because I was cheap; this earned me the nickname "one drink Pat" from one of the bartenders (miss ya' Mark!).
Also I had part of my bachelor party here, and the owner was great to us, charged us like 33% less than the bill should have been. I still go here when I visit Austin.
