Neighborhood: DowntownWent yesterday for manicure/pedicure. It was a bit pricey for me ($80 vs $20 in LA), but I decided to treat myself after ruining my hands unpacking boxes for two weeks. Plus, without a car, I needed a place that I could walk to. For the price, I was expecting more of a spa experience--the manicurists' stations are in the hair salon. However, my treatment lasted two hours, and my feet and hands look great (my calves smelled so good for the rest of the day due to the wonderful scrub used). I realized that the cheaper mani/pedi places never take that much time on my cuticles or my nails in general. I don't think I'll shell out that much cash on a regular basis, but I would go back to treat myself.
Acrylic nails. GO TO DEDE.
She'll make them look amazing. She's nice. She takes her time. She's funny. They will look good for more than a week. They truly look natural (if you want them to).
I am a nail biter. I have tiny nail beds.
And PS. They have Bumble & Bumble hair products. Need I say more? B&B is not easy to find in SD, and when you do find it, the salon never has what you need, or it's a salon you don't want to go into, for whatever reason. Le sigh.
