This place is extremely deceptive, but in a good way.

Originally booked at Hotel Zico, but was politely asked to transfer due to overbooking issue. I looked this place up on Yelp and saw that it was going for over $100 and thought that it must be decent.

Pulled up with my girlfriend, after telling her that we got moved over to a more expensive hotel, only to drive into a tiny motel parking lot surrounded by a Motel 6-esque 2 story corridor of white doors and a tiny little office.

Looked over at her and promised it would be nicer inside, but I really had no clue. The main outdoor picture on Yelp and several of the other review sites looks nothing like this place, and I really couldn't even figure out where they took it.

Anyways, we finally got to our room and stepped inside and it was marvelous, huge, and comfortable! Massive bed with a mattress and blankets like home, a sink/mirror room as big as two closets and separate from the bathroom, a TV with normal satellite cable, and much more! We both loved it, aesthetically and functionally. The air conditioner was a bit loud, but it definitely kept us cool on a 90+ day.

Not only are the rooms deceivingly amazing, but this hotel adds to your experience by adding on many unique touches. Fresh baked cookies in the office, a bag of chips and 2 waters in your room (haha?), free DVDs to rent (plus a DVD player in the room), and simple/semi-fast wi-fi make this place a 4.5.

Highly recommended. Location very convenient for Stanford

I tend to return to the area about twice a year. I visited again in June and happily booked a room. I ended up canceling: 2 days in advance, whereas they require 24 hr notice. I was charged anyway.

I called the Inn and I explained. The manager said they did not register the cancellation, and he would have been on duty the afternoon I said I canceled. He was not going to give a refund.  I checked my cell phone record, and indeed, I did call 2 days earlier, so unless I called the hotel for the hell of it, I do believe I did call to cancel. I went ahead and got the refund through my credit card company instead.

Maybe it's an isolated incident, but since I return regularly, I now take my business elsewhere. It's a decent place to stay, so it's a shame.

Minimal lighting in the rooms, bathroom is kind of dinky, and the housekeeping staff took my towels, but did not take out the trash or make the bed, and they left my sink dirty.  I think the room is worse than when I left it in the morning. Would not stay here again.  The room is large, yes, but that doesn't make up for everything else.

A most wonderful and relaxing stopping-point. Great staff; polite and very helpful; clean rooms; quiet and a very generous breakfast menu - waffles, excellent coffee and bagels, etc. Great place. First time I stayed was Halloween weekend to visit family.........and we'll be back soon, for sure. Thanks MPI for a great stay!

I would stay here again. The room was nice and comfortable, and there were friendly additions like hot chocolate, two complimentary bottled waters (not $5 each, shocking!), a small bag of Cheetos, and good coffee . The staff was friendly and not intrusive. Complimentary breakfast was nice as well. The hotel is located close to a Caltrain stop, and there are restaurants handy. My only complaint is that the wireless internet was crappy at times.

I ended up staying here with my friend D. when the house we partied at (and planned to stay at) had a bug infestation.

We screamed, we ran, we called a cab....and the destination was the Menlo Park Inn.  It was a room.  It was available. It was reasonable.  They didn't care that it was the middle of the night.

A basic choice located conveniently on El Camino.

We stayed here for two nights. Location is great as was the room and the price. Management were attentive and the complimentary breakfast had a lot of different items. Very convenient - will stay again when in the area.
