Mendon Cemetery is beautiful, as are all of the cemeteries I have visited in the area. I came here because I wanted to visit the grave of my mother's lifelong friend and maid of honor who passed away less than a month before I got back here for a visit last fall. This lady lived in Ocean Beach, as I did, for many years and used to stop by and see me once in awhile and it was always nice to see someone from "back home" since I had chosen to live so far from where my roots are. I was sad when she moved back to Indiana and sadder that I wasn't able to visit her here while she was still alive. She chose to be buried with generations of her family in this peaceful spot. She made a good choice--it's beautiful here, and well cared for.
