5 reviews for Memphis Marriott Downtown
The hotel was excellent the first time we stayed.
The second time wer were on a floor with a bunck of Little League players and the noise was very loud.
Alos, note that rates go up by 70% during some things (Memphis in May).
Check around beofre booking.
The service was great when you encounter the staff. Great location. But....dropped an earring on the floor and went to pick it up and picked up the earring along with some dusty hair that was not mine....that was kind of gross....that place needed a vacuum. Then the food was really disappointing. I had the lemon wings....very dry..and then i tasted my sisters buffalo wings....they were not that great...especially for ten dollars... i also got a key lime pie...i have to admitt that was pretty good. the next morning i went to breakfast and got the biscuits and gravy ....cant explain how underwhelming they were...but i heard the bacon was pretty good. If you can i suggest going out for food....we went to a place three blocks away for lunch and breakfast at a really small resturaunt....it was cheap...and pretty good.

The hotel has a lot to offer in location, appearance and service but I had a not so great experience while staying there that stole a star away from the review.
Front Desk - didn't mention where the concierge lounge was or what the times were (usually this is a default requirement)
Room - nice, great view and comfy. Bathroom felt a bit institutional (they should take notes from the Renaissance bathrooms!) I did like the toiletries, thank you for not giving me something that made my hair smell like I had washed it with pinesol or pledge.
Sleep - I am young, but when I have to be at a site in the morning, I don't appreciate loud voices in the hallway for 30 minutes + at midnight. So, I call down to say, "hey someone is being really loud in the hallway." I get a "we know, someone is on their way up now, sorry for the inconvenience." 10 minutes later I hear a scattering of all of the voices and a loud knock on a door. "Security, please open up." I then hear a voice say it wasnt them and it goes quiet for 10 minutes. Ahhh, back to sleep. Then, the voices are back. Talking loudly, bottles clanking. What in the?? Are they partying in the hallway?! Whatever, sleeping pill and I pass out. About 2:30 am I wake up to a loud bang into my door. I jump out of bed and peek through the peephole. I see feet and legs (Can't see right against my door) near my door at the floor. A man is passed out in my doorway. Back to bed.
The man is gone when I wake up the next morning. I hear some of those same voices when I go to the concierge lounge. Loud and boisterous. Seriously, don't you think you were rude enough keeping me awake... now you are loud at breakfast! SHUT UP. SHUT UP.
Sigh.
I know it sounds like no big deal, but when you are on a trip and just want some rest that stuff is annoying.

Great location very helpful staff. The beds are marvelous. The room smells a bit funny but the prices are fair.
Amenities include a business center, a pool, sauna, whirlpool, gym and a arcade!
Cool downtown Memphis, Tennessee hotel!
