SO NOT GOOD! Food BAD! Service BAD. I asked the cashier who to tell what I want on my gyro sandwich.  She pointed to the guy making. The guy who was making did not pay attention when I tried to tell him anything and of course by the end messed everything up and had to redo it.  I tried to go the 2nd time, even through they listened the 2nd time, the food was bad.  It seemed like it was not cooked through.  Came home and threw the whole thing out!  Go to
Anatolian Gyro on Sheepshead bay.  CANNOT COMPARE

So my boyfriend and I decided to go to Turkey because we LOVE Turkish food.  We really should have just stuck with Memo's!  Their mixed grill is huge and contains a tasty assortment of meats, all delicious.  The doner in the homemade bread is also quite good.

Only drawback...beverages not included.  Be prepared to pay for water.

This place is ideal if it is your object to destroy yourself happily.  My cholesterol was once dangerously high.  One visit to this place in October 2005 was probably the cause.

The mixed grill platter will feed two grown men easily.  It is worth it to sit inside, especially if a football match is on satellite.  Chicken and lamb are highlights, and it is best, perhaps, to describe what you like and ask for some good stuff.  If your constitution tolerates offal, you will find it here.

I've only been here once, but Memo makes me happy.  It's so nondescript.  My buddy took me here as part of an ongoing battle to convince me that there are better Turkish joints in Sheepshead than Sahara.  Now, I'm not willing to say that much (mostly because I don't want him to win the argument), but Memo is definitely awesome in its own way.

For one, it's really easy to order a combination of items on one plate for not a lot of money.  On top of that, it comes with a little rice and a little shepherd's salad -- items you usually need to order separately at the other spots (well, the salad, anyway).  That makes Memo a great one-stop shop.  Plus, you never need feel weird stopping in by yourself, as you might at other restaurants -- this place is quiet and low-key, but the service is sill really friendly.  The way it invites you in sort of reminds me of the Chinese takeout I used to walk to when I was younger.  You know, the one with the owner's kids running around and the giant Marvel vs. Capcom arcade.  If only THIS place was walking distance from me.

Oh, did I mention that the food is absolutely delicious?

I absolutely LOVE this place! It's good stuff and always manages to satisfy me. Whenever I visit my baby, I make a point of eating here at least once or twice a month. Heck, if I had it my way, I'd eat here weekly if my SO wasn't so against it.

The chicken kebab with rice is DELISH! It's cheap and straight forward which works for me whenever I am starving,
